Chapter 71: Shame On You, it’s daylight. And is grampa Lan coming?
As Sian woke up, he found the sun already high in the blue sky, casting its warm rays through the curtains. The wall clock, its cogs crawling slowly, indicated 2:45 PM.
A soft moan and he blinked away the remaining sleep, slowly rising to a sitting position. A spark of confusion clouded his face as if the world around him were still assembling. Fatigue etched on his face gave him a fragile charm, each furrow between his brows testifying to exhaustion. His keen amber eyes, once so bright and full of vitality, were now rimmed with a delicate redness, their beauty more poignant in this state. The golden colour glowed beneath a thin veneer of wetness, and wispy streaks of red indicated the passions churning just beneath the surface. At that moment, Sian’s face carried a haunting mix of vulnerability and beauty, an enthralling one with an almost supernatural charm.
As the clock crept towards three o’clock, a curse muttered involuntarily escaped Sian’s lips, heavy with frustration. His hoarse, raspy voice—likely due to the frantic screams and tortured pleas of the night before—grated out, "No wonder I’m starving to death. That bastard had his way with me all night until morning. My body aches in every possible way.".
Barring the pain, he did not feel anything. His body actually felt rejuvenated.
Lan Qisheng must have bathed him when he passed out due to the torture. Sian was also in the same room, but his skin still had a fresh undertone. Besides overlooking the colourful love bites and bruises littered on his body like an incendiary tattoo, his white skin would have looked even more radiant.
The black velvet throw spread over his legs was clean to perfection.
Sian lay alone in the room. Not even a suggestion of the beast that had consumed him the night before was visible.
The window had been softly unbolted, its hinges releasing with a slight groan as it opened for the incoming air. A gentle, soft wind blew through, carrying the slightest scent of blossoming flowers. The dark blue gauze drapes, transparent but radiant, fluttered gracefully in the gentle wind, their surface shimmering like water warmed by the sun’s rays. The sunlight poured into the room in bars of gold, illuminating all the nooks and crannies and warming the room with a warm, inviting light that wrapped around the room like a soft, comforting blanket. Shadows moved along the walls when the curtains danced, adding an active element of movement to the serene environment.
As the golden light cascaded over his body, Sian eased back easily, savouring the cosiness.
As if by coincidence, the door creaked open and Lan Qisheng entered the room. His entrancing blue eyes, sparkling as radiant sapphires, automatically locked onto Sian’s bare upper body. The flesh bore marks of intimacy—telling bites that were unmistakably his, and a pungent fragrance that clung in the air, blending their essences in a claiming yet alluring manner.
Every scratch on that immaculate skin was his and his alone.
Sian was his.
His darling.
Now and forever.
The beast within Lan Qisheng snarled in a devastating mix of possession and madness as his eyes rested upon the boy sitting silently on the bed. Seething underneath, a storm was raging, but his surface did not weaken or become less serene. With each deliberate move he took, his face had a soft appearance, ringed by a haunting smile that covered the agony bubbling in him. He approached gradually, each step of his being on the fine edge of gentleness and the vile instinct that overpowered him.
His icy blue eyes sparkled with warmth, brimming with love and affection, as he leaned in close and asked, "Awake?" The sunlight caught in his eyes seemed to hold an emotion, honest and open.
Sian’s lips compressed into a scowl, his voice rough with disapproval. "My body aches. I am frail."
Lan Qisheng’s expression was serene, but his eyes shone with kindness as he walked up, pulling Sian out of the blanket and sweeping him up.
Now completely exposed, Sian’s bruised, battered form was open to the big puppy—no, he was larger than a puppy. More like a wolf.
Sian’s cheeks flushed instantly, and he punched Lan Qisheng’s rigid chest. "You—what are you doing?!"
Lan Qisheng grinned, effortlessly holding him in his arms. His hands wandered freely around Sian’s body without restraint.
"My wife is weak, so as the best of husbands, I must carry him, bathe him, and even feed him. Don’t worry, sweetheart, just enjoy your husband’s good service."
Sian, half asleep, wasn’t prepared at all for the over-teasing. His sensitive body quivered at Lan Qisheng’s touch, and he couldn’t help but let out a couple of dainty gasps.
"Ahn... ahm..."
Sian coughed twice, rolling his body in an attempt to repel the mischievous hands. "What are you doing?!"
Lan Qisheng’s palms crept over Sian’s waist, his calloused fingertips giving slight pressure. His piercing stare rested upon Sian’s face, relishing each tiny reaction.
Sian let out a minute gasp, his breathing hitched as the momentary pressure beneath him sent him shivering. Astounded, he grabbed Lan Qisheng’s arm, his voice barely a whisper. "What... do you think you’re doing... during the daytime?"
Lan Qisheng’s eyes darkened, his pupils shrinking as he pushed Sian back onto the bed.
"Love knows no time, Sweetheart."
His hand slid away from Sian’s waist, tracing his thighs, teasing the space between them.
Sian’s amber eyes flared an even deeper red, his cheeks going pink. He stared into Lan Qisheng’s pupils, misted with a burning hunger, and felt his breath stolen.
He had always thought Lan Qisheng’s eyes were breathtaking. In his previous world, with the apocalypse where the oceans and lakes dried up, all that was left were barren, colourless horizons. Sian loved the sea, so it was not hard to imagine how he felt now, drowning in the endless blue of Lan Qisheng’s eyes.
For a fleeting instant, Sian was lost—long enough for a thief to steal his lips.
A fiery tongue explored past his soft, rosy petals, probing with unrelenting ardour. It was as if Lan Qisheng had sipped the spring’s sweetness, the warmth of summer, the coolness of autumn, and the chill of winter—all within one kiss.
Sian had no choice but to allow himself to be overwhelmed, his body surrendering to the hard, gasping embrace.
He grunted inwardly.
The first time was always brutal and painful, but once that hurdle was overcome, there was just the dizzying pleasure, both physical and mental.
With repetition, as he gradually accustomed himself to it, the beast inside Lan Qisheng learned to restrain itself—though his definition of "restraining" was a little warped.
At least, out of fear for Sian’s health, things weren’t as chaotic as last night. Lan Qisheng resigned after two hours.
But despite the fact that Sian lay spent, his lover’s hands wandered, carelessly moving over his sensitive skin.
Sian’s eyes welled up with tears, his exhaustion bringing him to the brink of tears.
"Ah..." he pouted. [I don’t like this lover’s life... I miss being single...]
Lan Qisheng’s heart lurched at the miserable cry. He dropped the jeers, drawing Sian into his arms and gently wiping away the pent-up tears. His voice softening, his stern icy blue eyes scowling with worry, he asked, "What is wrong?"
Sian slapped at his hand, his blazing red eyes brimming with unshed rage.
"Haven’t eaten for hours! I’m weak, I’m starving, and you’re still bullying me! Why don’t you just go and kill me already? You cheat! You deceiver! Aren’t you a soldier?! Where is your sense of duty?! Your discipline?!"
Lan Qisheng blinked. ".Oh."
Sian’s shriek was so loud that it awakened an unexpected guest—the old General Lan himself.
The elderly man had recently visited his grandson’s place, intending to consult him on certain important matters. But since the unmannerly young rascal had been trying to keep him off by holding his tongue, he had no choice but to pay a personal visit.
Obviously, since Lan Qisheng was an unmarried man, his villa’s security system recognized the general. The mere scan of his fingerprint earned him an open door.
Lan Qisheng had, indeed, reset the password, as he had vowed to Sian.
But he didn’t remove his grandfather’s login privileges—something that would later prove expensive for him.
