Chapter 20 -20 I’m Willing to Die for Her

In the abandoned factory, a camera was set up with three lecherous-looking brutes standing beside it.

The driver was nowhere to be found, and all the people here were thugs, as if they were afraid that Nan Qiao would escape.

Several men eyed Nan Qiao, pleased expressions on their faces.

“This chick isn’t bad, big where she needs to be big, perky where she needs to be perky, a real beauty.”

“Let’s start shooting quickly, I’d die happy on her body!”

“Are we going all at once, or taking turns?”

“This woman’s got flavor, probably can’t handle us all at once, right?

How about one at a time?”

The three men discussed fervently, as if Nan Qiao was a helpless fish on a chopping board.

Nan Qiao, clad in a t-shirt and jeans, her simple clothes unable to hide her stunning figure.

Her cold brows and eyes scanned the crowd, her lightly pursed red lips parted, “Who sent you?”

The leader, holding a dagger, didn’t take Nan Qiao seriously at all.

“The moment you die, I’ll tell you.”

The man thrust the sharp dagger into the table, then said to the three men, “Hurry up.”

The three men approached Nan Qiao, surrounding her, their heated gazes filled with greed.

A group of five or six men stood aside, spectating the scene.

Between the camera and the thugs, they were all just waiting to watch Nan Qiao be humiliated.

One man’s hand reached towards her, and Nan Qiao grabbed it, forcefully snapping it, the sound of fractured bones echoed.

In the blink of an eye, Nan Qiao kicked the man in the groin, the pain causing him to fall to the ground and roll around in agony.

As the others rushed at her, Nan Qiao grabbed the man closest to her, kicked him in the stomach, grabbed another man’s arm with her right hand, and snatched the dagger from the leader’s hand with her left, swiftly slashing across with it.

In moments, several men were covered with wounds, blood flowing incessantly.

Being a practitioner of traditional medicine, Nan Qiao precisely knew the human body’s pressure points—the knife struck where it would cause unstoppable bleeding and where it could kill a person instantly.

The leader pulled out a gun from his pocket and shot at Nan Qiao.

Darting past, Nan Qiao used one of the men as a shield, threw him forward, and while the gunman was distracted, she snatched the gun from his hands and shot him in the legs twice.

Just then, Nan Qiao heard urgent footsteps outside.

She didn’t linger to fight, grabbing the gun and running.

With reinforcements arriving in number, she needed to leave the place first.

A wise warrior picks his battles!

Nan Qiao hurried out, her ears filled with the sounds of footsteps drawing closer.

The abandoned factory dealt with fabrics, some of which hung tattered from the ceiling.

Seeing a figure ahead and finding herself surrounded, Nan Qiao furrowed her brows and slowly moved forward.

Gun in hand, Nan Qiao charged forward, aiming at the person ahead.

And the person also quickly drew a gun, aiming at Nan Qiao.

The fluttering fabric made their sight even clearer.

“Nan Qiao!”

“Li Yehan?”

Nan Qiao’s gun was trained on Li Yehan, and Li Yehan’s gun was also aiming at Nan Qiao, hair-trigger tense.

If not for their exceptional reflexes, bullets would have pierced through their skulls by now.

At that moment, Li Yehan pulled Nan Qiao into his embrace, his right hand firing the gun that pierced the enemy’s forehead, striking dead-on.

Li Yehan’s precise shooting stunned Nan Qiao.

Old Liu arrived with backup, respectfully addressing Li Yehan, “Sir, the people who kidnapped the Miss have been subdued.”

Only then did Li Yehan breathe a sigh of relief, “Interrogate them thoroughly, but don’t kill them.”

“Yes!” Old Liu received the order and went to handle it.

Nan Qiao still held the handgun in her trembling hands, her clear, watery eyes wide with shock.

At that moment, her heart was in utter disarray.

She was about to fall off her horse again!

Nan Qiao awkwardly held the pistol and looked at Li Yehan’s concerned gaze, stepping out of his embrace.

She then handed him the pistol, “It was so terrifying, I’m really scared.”

The tenderness in his eyes growing, Li Yehan took the gun from her and gently ruffled her hair, “As long as you’re okay.”

His gentle voice gradually calmed her down.

Nan Qiao was the first to speak, “How did you come to be here?”

“I was at home waiting for you with Grandpa, and when you didn’t show up, we called the driver, but he didn’t answer his phone.

So I had my people check the surveillance cameras along the way, and when I found out you were in trouble, I rushed to rescue you.

Fortunately, I made it in time.”

Nan Qiao was somewhat surprised, “You weren’t at work?”

Their proximity was close, so close that Nan Qiao could see the delicacy of his skin and the impenetrable affection veiling his dark eyes.

In a low voice brimming with magnetism, the man said, “It’s your first visit to our house; naturally, I had to wait for you.”

Standing so close, the warm breath of the man brushed her face, causing Nan Qiao’s cheeks to blush as she stepped back to steady her emotions.

“Let’s go outside.”

Just as Nan Qiao was about to walk, she was suddenly swept up in Li Yehan’s arms.

Caught off guard, she instinctively clung to his neck.

His voice resonated beside her ear, “You’ve injured your calf, I’ll carry you out.”

Li Yehan’s words directed her gaze to her leg, remarking only then a pain.

She had likely been slashed during the struggle, but she hadn’t noticed it at the time, thankfully, it wasn’t very painful.

“Li Yehan, put me down, I can walk.”

The injury was minor, insignificant compared to the wounds she had suffered before.

Li Yehan, however, did not comply with her request but firmly carried her out.

“Don’t move.”

With no other choice, she could only let him carry her.

When Nan Qiao was brought into the hospital, it caused quite a stir.

Coincidently, Bai Yurou was working at that hospital.

She had just finished her rounds when she saw Li Yehan carrying Nan Qiao and instinctively approached, “Brother Ye Han.”

Yet, Li Yehan seemed not to see her, continuing to walk inside with Nan Qiao in his arms.

Passing nurses who saw this scene were stunned.

“So this is the Brother Ye Han Dr.

Bai was talking about?”

“Didn’t Dr.

Bai say they were almost getting married?

Mr.

Li didn’t even acknowledge her!”

“It looks like Bai Yurou is just experiencing unrequited love.”

“No matter how well-matched they are, it doesn’t matter if he isn’t interested.

I don’t know why she acts so arrogant all the time.”

“I’m free now; I’ll go get the scoop.”

A young nurse ran up, her face full of gossip.

Bai Yurou was furious, knowing if it leaked that she wasn’t the Bai Family’s true daughter, it would be the end!

Not wanting her secret to be exposed so soon, she marched over and grabbed the nurse’s arm.

“Slacking off during work hours, believe me if I tell the director!”

Flushed with embarrassment, the nurse slipped away hurriedly.

Bai Yurou’s rage seethed within her; her plan had failed!

She had intended for Nan Qiao to be assaulted, and then to circulate the video.

Even if the Bai Family liked Nan Qiao, they would never announce that Nan Qiao was the true daughter.

What to do now?
