Su Shuang and Suo Kexiao were waiting for the situation to change; they did not confine their gaze solely to the fleeing Iridium Star Rapid Response Teams, instead waiting for the real moves of the Iridium Star Nuoye Fleet.

"Commander, a massive reaction has been detected at Junction D36,"

Su Shuang nodded slightly and said, "They’re here."

Suo Kexiao immediately checked the readings and curled his lip, saying, "Two thousand five hundred warships? It looks like the opponent has held something back, either to guard Nuoye Star or for some other plan."

Su Shuang said, "Whatever their other plans are to throw their main force close to Light Valley Star to prepare to engage with our main force, I don’t know whether to say they are brave or foolish."

"After all, this is what you wanted to see."

Most of Su Shuang’s army’s combat power was stationed at Light Valley Star, and the Nuoye Fleet’s direct choice of the path nearest to Light Valley Star was to face Su Shuang’s army head-on in a tough battle.

"Full army deployed!" Su Shuang had no hesitation; in fact, this Divine General’s professionalism in military command and management was admirable. He always considered himself a military man, and even now, as a Divine General controling the previously Snow Dragon Alliance civilizations, he had no intention of indulging in pleasures and accepting flattery on the planets. Instead, he always resided on his own warship, continuously handling various military affairs.

On the other hand, the two admirals of the Iridium Star were also bracing for battle. Li Cheng still maintained his no-nonsense demeanor, while the much older Yu Dangkou was quite fired up. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

"What does it matter if the enemy has more people? We’ve fought and won against odds before. My fleet can charge and scatter these various Snow Dragon Alliance civilizations that have not yet adapted to using advanced warships," declared Yu Dangkou confidently.

Li Cheng, however, was seriously reviewing the deployment of each of Su Shuang’s fleet units, ordering his staff to carry out various real-time simulations and strategical preparations.

Glancing at the silent Li Cheng, Yu Dangkou couldn’t help feeling a bit sentimental. He was much older than Li Cheng, but Yu Dangkou knew that he and Li Cheng were not at the same level as commanders. And the opposing enemies, Divine General Su Shuang and Suo Kexiao, were among the top generals from the High Council.

Su Shuang excelled at managing both the big picture and the minute details, making every detail of the battlefield clear to him. Such an opponent was terrifying for any general because you never knew where he had placed a hidden move that could suddenly emerge at a crucial moment and ruin a victory that seemed within easy reach.

Li Cheng knew he was not on Su Shuang’s level, but he did not intend to compete with Su Shuang in global battle command. The Iridium Star people had a highly professional and powerful staff, combined with a comprehensive and operational intelligent system. On the battlefield, especially when information control was complete and transparent, the Empire Army also had a strong competitive edge.

Su Shuang had divided his fleet into two major parts, striking at the Nuoye Fleet from both the left and the right.

"Could this be a pincer strategy?" asked Yu Dangkou doubtfully.

"Isn’t he afraid of exposing Light Valley Star directly to us?"

Li Cheng shook his head, "No, Su Shuang is adept at arranging fleet formations. During the battle of 170,000, his precisely laid-out firepower and his strong dynamic transference caused significant trouble for the fleet led by the Chancellor. Given our numerical disadvantage, if we try to break through the middle, we’re likely to suffer heavy losses. Moreover, Su Shuang could choose to slice our fleet into several sections, which would leave us incapable of resisting."

Yu Dangkou also felt this battle would not be easy. He asked Li Cheng, "What do you plan to do?"

Li Cheng responded, "Select a target and then pin it to the ground and strike, ignoring all other enemies."

Yu Dangkou was somewhat astonished, "What kind of tactic is that?"

"The most effective tactic."

The 2,500 Iridium Star Warships, upon receiving orders from Li Cheng, formed into a vertical fan-shaped formation aimed at the left flank of Su Shuang’s legion, clearly a formation that favored mass firepower output. But because of this formation, they neglected the incoming attacks from other directions.

"Designate the target."

"Prepare for engagement!"

Li Cheng, through the fleet’s supreme command system, marked an area in which the enemy warships were identified as the sole target of his fleet. The Iridium Star Fleet then morphed from a fan shape into a hemispherical formation, nailing down hundreds of warships within the target area and bombarding them fiercely.

When the 2,500 Iridium Star Warships started firing at maximum output, the hastily assembled Su Shuang legion fleet took a severe blow. Even though Su Shuang’s so-called direct lineage from Star Sector-5 claimed to be composed of well-trained and highly skilled crew, in reality, few met those standards. Consisting of crews from different civilizations with varying cultures and technical levels, and manning warships of different technological capabilities and attack patterns, this fleet was simply unable to expect highly unified combat effectiveness.

The warships, upgraded using Crystal Cube Cores, were all advanced vessels of Class 26 or higher. The Iridium Star people were keen to fight well, but they were not ready for such a desperate attack, which was very unsettling and even caused panic.

"Get out of here, get out of here!" screamed the captain of a battleship under attack. He was formerly a captain from a Primitive Civilization, and even though he had recently reacquainted himself with some military theories and practices of Advanced Warships, he was far from ready for this reality.

Initially, both sides seemed gentlemanly exchanging firepower upon entering range, but unexpectedly, the Iridium Star people gathered directly and fiercely attacked a corner of Su Shuang’s left flank squadron. Naturally, Su Shuang would not miss this chance, commanding his wing fleets to start retracting proportionally and begin attacking the head-on Iridium Star Warships.

Suo Kexiao said, "The part of the fleet targeted by the Iridium Star people will be annihilated, but it can create an opportunity for other members of the fleet to eliminate the enemy. We have the numerical advantage, and even though we are slightly inferior to these Iridium Star people overall, given the size, they’re bound to lose."

The Iridium Star Fleet, which wrapped around a corner and attacked viciously, indeed exposed its sides and rear to the enemy. Su Shuang’s legion, with its greater numbers, could attack from these undefended areas, covering a larger area.

The Iridium Star Warships used limited maneuvers to dodge, not even minding being hit. This attitude would continually increase the losses for this fleet.
