Chapter 548

【 CROWN OF NATURE

Evé continued to use her [Absorption] ability for a full quarter of an hour.

During this time, the mana capacity of Seigües also kept increasing further for the same duration.

By the time Evé’s ascension was completed, her divine power had reached an astounding 16,000 points, which was twice her previous strength!

At the same time, after absorbing the divinity of Winter and Hunting, Evé was pleasantly surprised to find that she had awakened two new divine abilities.

One of them was the ability to manipulate the weather, which seemed to be derived from the fusion between the divinity of Winter and Nature.

Once this ability was used, Evé could influence the weather within a region centered around either her true body or her incarnation, and the size of the affected area as well as the duration of the effect scaled proportionally with the amount of divine power she expended.

Abilities: Absorption, Oracle, Bestowal, Enlightenment, Healing, Summoning, Divine Descent, Divine Domain, Weather Control, Tracking…

Divine Artifacts: Scepter of Life, Withering Heart (Fragmented)

Looking at her updated status, Evé was very satisfied.

With her now elevated to the level of Intermediate Divine Power, her strength had risen dramatically. As a result, she had also gained more precise control over the Scepter of Life, which in turn significantly reduced the cost of resurrecting players or creating primordial elves.

Even now, the divine power stored within the Scepter of Life had not been fully absorbed. After a quick check, she sensed that about 2,000 points still remained within it.

After a brief pause, she chose not to absorb these remaining energy into her main body and she sent it over to her divine incarnation instead.

Responding to her will, the Scepter of Life began to glow once more. However, unlike before, the divine energy did not channel itself into her vast network of faith. Instead, it flowed directly into Eve’s incarnation, coursing through its arm and suffusing its physical form with radiant, silvery divine power.

When the divine power within the Scepter was finally depleted, Eve’s incarnation underwent a complete transformation, with its aura becoming vast and overwhelming.

At that moment, even without counting her true body, her incarnation alone now held nearly 3,000 points of divine power. While it still could not cast a full Divine Domain on its own, it had essentially reached the level of a peak Lesser Divine Power.

With that matter settled, Evé turned her gaze toward the Sandstorm City in the Desert down below.

More precisely, toward the location of the “Fake World Tree Divine Kingdom” within the city.

She could sense an unknown force there rampaging wildly, seemingly attempting to break free from the divine domain she had descended with.

If she still possessed only Lesser Divine Power, then it might have had a chance. But now that she had ascended to Intermediate Divine Power, the strength of her divine domain had increased significantly, and no matter how the force struggled—it would not escape.

As for exactly what that ‘force’ was, she had already come to a conclusion…

She could sense from that force a familiar, intimate aura potent with the essence of nature.

It was the Crown of Nature.

Evé smiled, then dispelled the illusory Elven Forest from the sky and flew toward Sandstorm City.

In an instant, the orcs and players on the ground saw a beautiful figure, radiating brilliant holy light, descend from above and land within Sandstorm City.

With a true god entering its premises, the divine barrier that protected Sandstorm City easily crumbled without resistance.

Or rather… ever since Evé had descended and the moment Uller perished in battle, the city’s defenses had already become as fragile as paper.

Whilst bathed in an aura of majesty and holiness, Evé descended slowly, before arriving at the entrance to the so-called “Divine Kingdom of the World Tree,” which was a glowing portal shimmering with a faint halo of light.

The closer she came, the stronger and more distinct the familiar, welcoming aura became.

Without a moment’s hesitation, Evé stepped through the portal.

Instantly, the scenery around her shifted. In the blink of an eye, she found herself within a strange, enclosed space.

From the looks of it, this space appeared to be artificially created.

It wasn’t particularly vast, spanning less than ten square kilometers, and its height mirrored its length and width, forming a perfectly symmetrical cube that seemed to defy natural formation.

At the same time, Evé sensed an overwhelming amount of shadow energy surrounding her.

In particular, at each of the eight corners of the cube floated a transparent, cracked crystal that continuously spun in place.

These crystals resembled the shadow gems produced by shadow creatures, but they appeared far more advanced, which, in hindsight, were likely crafted by Hodür, the Lord of Darkness and Shadows.

Evé silently gazed at these ominous floating crystals and quickly realized what their true purpose was.

This artifical cubic space must have been temporarily constructed using these eight crystals.

Moreover, she also noticed something peculiar, which was that unlike typical spaces bound by the rules of the universe, this cubic space had unrestricted laws, thereby allowing true gods to fully unleash their strength within this enclosed area.

She also recognized a familiar fluctuation from these crystals, which had the same energy Uller had used when placing restrictions and sealing off the Desert of Death.

Based on this evidence, everything became clear to her

Uller must have utilized these crystals to create those seals, and they were likely artifacts specifically designed for sealing purposes and constructing pocket dimensions such as this one.

However, it was evident that these crystals were already nearing their limit.

They appeared to be single-use in nature, and once they fully shattered, this temporary cubic space would instantly collapse onto itself.

At that moment, Evé fully understood Uller and his other fellow conspirators original plan:

Their true intention was probably to lure her into this isolated pocket dimension and then band together to launch a surprise assault, using its sealed nature to trap and overwhelm her.

Of course, now that plan had ultimately failed in the end.

Following the trail of energy, Evé looked toward the center of the space. There, suspended midair, was a magnificent crown spinning slowly.

It was a golden crown, intricately entwined with green vines and floral wreaths—at once elegant and delicate, yet exuding a dignified grandeur that commanded reverence.

Surrounding the crown was a swirling aura of dark-purple divine power.

Evé instantly recognized it—this was the dark energy of Hodür, unmistakably his signature.

She could sense his will, faint yet persistent, as he attempted to remotely seize control of the Crown of Nature, his influence trying to pull it toward him, to summon it back to his grasp.

However, this pocket dimension was encased within Eve’s divine domain outside, which was situated on the realm of Seigües. Therefore the immense power of her domain greatly restricted Hodür’s reach, severing the strength of his influence and limiting his control over the crown.

Thus, despite his attempts to reclaim the Crown of Nature, he was unable to break free of Eve’s control.

Moreover, the Crown of Nature itself seemed to have undergone a transformation. Evé could sense that it, too, was resisting Hodür’s summoning, especially after her arrival in this enclosed space.

In fact, Evé could faintly perceive a feeling from the crown, which was a kind of jubilant joy emanating from within it.

Whilst smiling faintly, Evé allowed her divine light to blaze even brighter, radiating with a brilliance that seemed to illuminate the entire pocket dimension.

With a wave of determination, she decisively flew toward the Crown of Nature, her eyes locked on the magnificent artifact. Her outstretched hand reached toward it, ready to claim it as her own.

As her divine energy surged forth, emerald natural energy burst out from her in torrents, clashing violently against Hodür’s dark, oppressive powers. The immense forces collided in midair, creating a shockwave that reverberated through the entire cubic space.

The impact was so great that the entire dimension shuddered. The crystals positioned at each corners of the space then began to fracture, their cracks deepening with each passing second.

Amidst the confrontation, Evé seemed to hear an angry, cold snort echo from the purple-black divine energy.

Yet, despite Hodür having left behind a considerable amount of dark divine power to control the crown, it was still far weaker than Eve’s current incarnation.

Strengthening her incarnation had not just been for gaining new methods of attack as it was precisely for this very moment.

Their divine powers collided, and Evé quickly gained the upper hand. Furthermore, with the Crown of Nature actively cooperating, she easily expelled Hodür’s influence.

With a final pulse of light, the golden crown finally broke free and soared into her grasp, humming with pure natural essence.

The Crown of Nature was now hers!

Overcome with joy, Evé smiled and promptly stowed the artifact away. However, she didn’t bind it to herself immediately. She knew this unstable space was on the verge of collapse, and lingering any longer would be unwise.

Wasting no time, she turned and began her departure.

As Evé secured the Crown of Nature, the eight crystals anchoring the dimension finally gave out. With a sharp crack, they shattered into pieces, and the entire pocket dimension trembled violently as it began to disintegrate.

Yet just before the collapse consumed everything, Evé’s figure vanished in a flash of divine light, before reappearing safely in the familiar realm of Seigües.

Behind her, the portal shimmered one last time before it flickered and then disintegrated into motes of light, leaving nothing behind but empty air.

Immediately right after, Evé transformed into a streak of flowing light and, under the gaze of countless eyes, vanished into thin air.

At that moment, everyone realized, the Goddess had finally decided to leave.

Of course, in reality, Evé had merely concealed her figure and discreetly moved back behind the players.

At the same time, she used her divine power to lift the players’ silence restrictions and ended the use of her divine domain.

With their speech and movement finally restored once more, the players immediately burst into excitement:

“The cutscene’s finally over! We can finally move and talk again!”

“Haha, that dumb brute is finally dead! Our side won! Charge!”

“Forward! Crush them! Take Sandstorm City!”

“Praise the Goddess!”

Amid cheers and jubilant cries, the army of players launched a collective charge against the remaining orc forces.

Even Meryer and Tiberia joined the fray, letting out excited roars as they too rushed into battle.

However, just after the red dragon Tiberia had let out a few mighty bellows, she was suddenly grabbed by an unknown force and vanished in the blink of an eye.

Yet, strangely, no one seemed to notice—or rather, no one consciously realized what had happened.

Evé, however, caught sight of it.

She simply raised an eyebrow, more or less guessing what had occurred.

Moments later, the situation on the battlefield became perfectly clear. With the fall of their patron deity, the orcs had completely lost the will to fight.

Facing the emboldened players, they collapsed almost immediately, offering little resistance at all.

With this, the outcome of the war was now certain.

Evé did not rejoin the battle. Instead, she stood calmly at the rear, watching everything unfold.

At that moment, a subtle ripple of divine power stirred beside her, and the figure of the Platinum Dragon King, Reinhardt, appeared at her side.

In his hand, he held a small, struggling red dragon which somehow had shrunk down to the size of a puppy.

Eve’s heart stirred slightly.

She immediately realized that this was none other than Tiberia, who had been caught by Reinhardt moments ago.

Without turning her head, she asked lightly:

“How did the pursuit go?”

“As expected of two evil gods who have been constantly persecuted by the Eternal Lord for two thousand years, yet still managed to escape time and time again. They’ve escaped once more.”

Reinhardt gave a wry smile.

Evé couldn’t help but chuckle.

Still, she understood.

Those two evil gods had fled with incredible speed even during the war in the underground. It was clear that escaping had become second nature to them.

That being said, she now had a new divine tracking ability in hand, and she was rather looking forward to encountering them again in the future…

“Your Grace Evé, since the war is now over, I’ll take my leave early. I need to bring this one back as soon as possible.”

Reinhardt lifted the small red dragon in his hand slightly as he spoke.

Afterward, he glanced at the sky and gave a reminder:

“Your Grace, although Uller’s collusion with the evil gods justified your actions, he was still a true god. While holy wars are not bound by rules of life and death, Uller was still a member of the faction of the God of War. Going forward… you must be prepared to fight against the God of War.”

Evé nodded and replied calmly:

“I understand. I was already prepared for that long ago.”

After speaking, she added with sincere gratitude:

“And… thank you for your assistance, Your Majesty, Reinhardt.”

“You’re welcome. I only acted against because of those evil gods. If you encounter them or any other evil gods for that matter in the future, then feel free to reach out to me.”

Reinhardt smiled warmly.

“I certainly will,”

Evé replied with a smile of her own.

With that, Reinhardt vanished, carrying the struggling red dragon along with him.

As for Evé, she once again assumed the appearance of her incarnation, Zero, and returned to the players’ side.
