Chapter 110 - 110: What Is This?

Mt. Tianheng was a towering peak near Liyue. The mountain's fresh spring water flowed through Liyue Harbor, rushing toward the sea before finally merging with the vast ocean.

Standing atop Mt. Tianheng, one could get a sweeping view of the entire Liyue city.

At this moment, Childe was half-squatting at the mountain's peak, gazing thoughtfully toward Tianqiu Valley.

The blinding light just now was impossible to ignore. However, with Liyue's abundance of adepti, the Geo Archon lurking in the shadows, and the Liyue Qixing keeping a close watch on him, he didn't dare rush over recklessly.

Still, he had sent his subordinates to investigate.

"Lord Harbinger!"

The Fatui agents under his command did not dare slack off, so they hurried back after gathering what information they could.

"What's the situation?"

Childe's gaze remained fixed on the direction of the light. The clouds that had been dispersed by the beam had yet to return to normal, leaving a gaping hole in the sky—as if someone had pierced a hole through heaven itself.

"The Millelith have completely sealed off the area, and half of the Liyue Qixing are present. We attempted to negotiate with them, but they seem unwilling to let us get involved."

The reporting Fatui soldier began to sweat, knowing that his mission had yielded no real results. If Childe decided to punish him, he could only accept his fate.

"You did well. Go claim your reward."

Childe nodded.

"Thank you, Lord Harbinger!"

His subordinates breathed a sigh of relief, secretly feeling fortunate. Of course, when it came to Childe's so-called rewards, they would never dare to actually claim them.

In truth, Tartaglia had expected this outcome from the start.

If the situation were reversed, and something similar happened in Snezhnaya, they absolutely wouldn't allow the Millelith or the Qixing to interfere either.

Cooperation only existed when both sides held equal power. When dealing with weaker nations like Mondstadt or Inazuma, the Fatui preferred infiltration and gradual control rather than direct confrontation.

As for Tianqiu Valley, Childe already had some understanding of what had transpired—such as the Ancient Geovishap and the Primo Geovishaps.

For most of the Fatui, the only valuable thing about the Ancient Geovishap was the Juvenile Jade, making it their primary interest.

However, Childe had noticed something else entirely.

Rumors spoke of a Geovishaps Overlord, as vast and enduring as the mountains themselves, who once fought alongside the Geo Archon in ages long past.

However, after humans excavated the Chasm, damaging the ley lines, the dragon became enraged. Ultimately, Rex Lapis personally sealed it deep underground.

So now... with the appearance of the Ancient Geovishap...

Could it mean that the Geovishaps Overlord is awakening?

Ever since arriving in Liyue, Tartaglia had been searching for a way to uncover information about the Geo Archon.

Yet aside from the annual Rite of Descension, there was no opportunity to approach the god.

The Rite of Descension only happened once a year, and this time, security would be tighter than ever. Unless he was prepared to declare outright war on Liyue, there was no way he could make a move on that day.

But the Ancient Geovishap's reappearance gave him an idea.

If he could locate the sealed Geovishaps Overlord... and find a way to release it...

Then—

Would the Geo Archon himself be forced to appear?

Even if the Geovishaps Overlord had weakened due to centuries of being sealed, Tartaglia could still use its life as leverage—forcing the elusive Geo Archon to show himself.

Surely, Morax wouldn't stand by and watch his old comrade die, would he?

Unfortunately, that blinding light had already drawn the attention of the Liyue Qixing, and now Tianqiu Valley was under strict lockdown. Breaking through the Millelith's defenses to investigate what was inside would be an incredibly difficult task.

However, since a weakness had already been found, it was only a matter of time before the Fatui exploited it—gradually expanding that crack until Liyue crumbled completely.

Half-crouched on the mountain peak, Tartaglia felt the chilling winds cut against his skin. A sudden thought crossed his mind—the higher you stand, the lonelier it gets.

"Hmm?"

At that moment, he sensed something off. Slowly lowering his head, he noticed a red circular light beneath his feet.

The glowing ring wasn't particularly large—about two meters in diameter—but strange flickering energy radiated from its edges.

"What is this—"

BOOM!

Scorching magma erupted from beneath him, shooting skyward and engulfing Tartaglia's entire body. Though he managed to form a protective barrier of water, blocking the heat, the sheer force of the eruption was something he couldn't counteract.

His whole body was sent flying—like a helpless rubber duck tossed into a storm—before he crashed down the mountain, tumbling helplessly into the valley below.

"..."

For a brief moment, the Fatui soldiers nearby were completely stunned.

Then—

"Lord Harbinger!"

"Enemy attack! Everyone, be on high alert!"

"Alert my ass! Go save him! That's Lord Harbinger down there!"

No one had any idea why a volcanic eruption had suddenly appeared on Mt. Tianheng, nor why it vanished without a trace moments later.

But one thing was clear—

If something happened to Childe, they were all doomed.

<+>

Right at the base of Mt. Tianheng lay Bubu Pharmacy.

The weather had been gloomy all day, but just now, a blinding celestial glow had burst forth, sweeping away the dark clouds. Even the sun had peeked out cheerfully from behind the sky.

Taking advantage of the sudden sunshine, Gui decided to feed the koi fish in the lotus pond outside the pharmacy.

The dozen or so koi in the pond were ones he had recently purchased. He had tried his best to find the exact same breeds as the ones that had been there before.

Thanks to the power of money, the pond was slowly returning to its former state.

It was no surprise that Mr. Bai once said—the Fatui will clean up their own messes.

Gui only had one prayer—

That Bai Luo, that devil, would never set foot in Bubu Pharmacy again.

Stealing koi to cook in his medicine pot was bad enough, but he even boiled frogs in it.

For the past few weeks, whenever Gui brewed medicine, there was always a weird smell lingering in the pot—no matter how many times he scrubbed it.

And above all—he prayed that Qiqi wouldn't pick up Bai Luo's bad habits.

Otherwise, no matter how many koi he bought, they wouldn't be enough to keep up with her appetite.

Ugh. I shouldn't think about it. Just a bunch of annoying troubles.

Shaking his head, Gui continued sprinkling fish food into the pond.

"Aaaaahhh—!"

Just as he tossed out a handful of fish food, a loud scream rang from above.

Gui instinctively looked up—only to see a figure plummeting from the sky.

And the place they were about to crash into was—

The lotus pond.

SPLASH—!

"MY FISH!!!"

A tragic wail erupted as Tartaglia plunged into the pond, sending water and fish flying in all directions.

Poor Gui was drenched from head to toe.

"Damn it... at least I landed in water."

Gritting his teeth, Tartaglia pulled himself out of the pond, still looking completely dazed.

The moment he was blasted into the air, he had originally planned to use hydro techniques to redirect himself toward a mountain ledge.

But instead—

The second he got launched, it was like his entire body had been paralyzed. He had completely lost control over his movements, as if his strength had been sealed away.

It wasn't until he hit the water that he could move again.

So what the hell just happened?!
