Chapter 469 - This Trainee Fatui Harbinger is Too Unreliable [469]

Mondstadt

After quietly slipping back into the room, Luo Qing returned to his place in the bed.

The sight of his wives still peacefully sleeping eased his mind. Moving carefully, he lay down, trying not to disturb anyone.

However, it wasn't long before he heard a faint rustling nearby.

Someone was shifting, inching closer to his head.

Pretending to stay asleep, Luo Qing decided to see who it was.

A soft whisper reached his ear.

"Luo Qing... are you awake?"

He didn't respond, continuing to feign sleep.

A few seconds later, the voice came again, slightly louder this time.

"Don't pretend. I saw you come back from outside just now. There's no way you fell asleep this quickly."

"..."

Sighing inwardly, Luo Qing opened his eyes.

Next to him, Furina's face was close enough for her cheek to rest on his shoulder.

"Furina..."

A sudden sense of unease crept into Luo Qing's chest.

In the dim light, he couldn't make out her expression, but her trembling voice carried a hint of shyness.

"What are you planning to do?"

"I..." Furina hesitated, falling silent for a long moment before finally whispering,

"Luo Qing... I want to give myself to you. Can I?"

"...Huh?" Luo Qing blinked in confusion.

"Right now..." Furina's voice dropped to a near murmur. "Can I?"

"Wait, hold on..." Luo Qing sat up slightly, glancing around.

There are still so many people in this bed.

Doing something here was unthinkable. And when had Furina become this bold?

"Furina, maybe we should wait until tomorrow night—"

"No."

Her response was firm, cutting him off.

"It has to be tonight. If you don't agree now, there won't be another chance."

"..."

Luo Qing was at a loss for words. What kind of logic is that? Tonight or never? What has Furina been through these past months to change so much?

"And what do you propose we do?"

"Let's go to my room," Furina said softly. "We'll come back once we're done. Everyone's asleep. They won't notice."

"Uh..."

Something tells me if we leave, coming back won't be so simple.

"Why are you suddenly insistent on tonight?"

"Less talking."

Furina's tone carried a hint of menace.

"Are you coming or not? If not, then forget it forever!"

"...Fine."

Sighing internally, Luo Qing relented.

Furina quickly sat up, her pale blue nightgown catching the moonlight. Moving carefully to avoid waking anyone, she slid off the bed.

Walking barefoot to muffle her steps, she grabbed Luo Qing's hand and led him to the door.

As soon as they stepped out, they were met with an unexpected sight.

Rosalyne stood silently at the doorway, still dressed in her maid uniform.

The sudden appearance nearly made Furina scream, but Luo Qing reacted quickly, covering her mouth to stifle the sound.

"Master, Lady Furina... What are you doing?"

Rosalyne's eyes flicked between them, her confusion evident.

She had assumed her master was sneaking out alone, but now it seemed that wasn't the case.

"We... have something to take care of," Furina stammered, peeking out from behind Luo Qing. "We'll be back soon."

"..."

Rosalyne's gaze shifted between them, a knowing glint in her eyes. Bowing slightly, she said,

"I'll prepare a room for you. Please, follow me."

"..."

Furina's face flushed crimson.

Her intentions had been so easily seen through that she wanted to bury herself in the ground. But it was too late to back out now. Clinging to Luo Qing, she followed Rosalyne through the hallway.

As they left, back in the bedroom, Makoto opened her eyes briefly.

Noticing the two empty spots on the bed, she smirked faintly before closing her eyes again.

---

Inside Furina's room, the air was thick with tension.

The décor, a replica of a Fontaine noble's palace, only heightened the pressure Furina felt as she sat nervously on the edge of the bed.

Glancing between Luo Qing and the door, she fidgeted anxiously.

She had never expected Rosalyne to be standing guard. Even now, the maid remained just outside the room.

I should have ignored Rosalyne's advice. Now this is unbearably awkward.

Her determination faltered as doubts began to creep in.

Watching her squirm, Luo Qing couldn't suppress a chuckle.

"What are you laughing at?" Furina asked, keeping her head low.

"Do I look that ridiculous to you?"

"No," Luo Qing said, shaking his head as he leaned closer.

"It's just... Lady Furina is so adorable. I can't help but laugh at how much I like you."

For someone so inexperienced, Furina's attempt at intimacy was both endearing and clumsy. If things were going to progress, Luo Qing would have to take the lead.

Reaching out, he slid his arm around her waist, slipping his hand beneath her loose nightgown to rest against her warm skin.

"Ah..."

A soft gasp escaped Furina's lips. Her body tensed as a wave of heat spread through her, leaving her mind blank and her heart racing.

Maybe if I don't look at him, I won't feel so nervous...

Closing her eyes, she wrapped her arms around Luo Qing and buried her face in his chest.

"Luo Qing..."

Her muffled voice caught his attention, and he paused.

"What is it?"

"I love you..."

The simplicity of her words sent a wave of warmth through Luo Qing's chest.

Smiling, he cupped her flushed face and kissed her gently.

Though Mondstadt's mansion was designed by Kaveh to have exceptional soundproofing, Rosalyne, stationed just outside, still caught faint traces of the noises inside.

Her normally composed demeanor faltered, her breath unsteady as she sat on the floor to steady herself.

Focus, Rosalyne, she reminded herself.

As much as she wanted to walk away, Makoto had entrusted her with guarding the door, and she wouldn't abandon her duty.

As the night stretched toward dawn, the room finally fell silent.

Straightening her slightly disheveled maid uniform and stockings, Rosalyne rose to her feet, ready to maintain her post.

When the door creaked open, she turned to see Luo Qing carrying a sleeping Furina in his arms.

Furina's disheveled hair and wrinkled nightgown bore clear traces of their shared intimacy, her scent mingling with his.

Rosalyne bowed slightly and stepped aside, allowing them to pass.

"Thank you," Luo Qing whispered, his tone calm.

Rosalyne said nothing, falling into step behind him as they returned to the shared bedroom.

...

Huh. You really stuck it out all the way to the end.

Didn't think you had the patience. Guess I was wrong.

WiseTL's the one who actually made all this come together. I'm just here putting a bow on it... or, well, shoving it in a backpack and calling it a day. Same thing.
