Chapter 63 -63 Unclaimed Territory by the Sea
“Since there’s nothing left, take your things and let’s continue to move forward.”
Fang Jie gave the command, leading his team forward.
However, as they walked, Fang Jie realized something might be wrong.
“You there, come here, let me have a look,” he said, pointing at several special Skull Soldiers up ahead.
“Speak, let me hear you,” Fang Jie ordered the Skulls.
“My lord,” a Skull Soldier managed to speak with difficulty, but it indeed uttered words, although the sound was extremely unpleasant.
“Just as I thought, it’s not only me who benefited from that surge of magic power.”
Earlier, Fang Jie had discovered that the magic power surge had directly destroyed a vast number of Skeleton Soldiers, with at least several hundred simply vanishing.
But there were also several hundred that had survived.
From earlier actions, he had noticed something was off with them, clearly different from other Skeleton Soldiers.
Now it seems that these fellows had indeed become Elite Units.
Similarly, those Black Iron and Bronze level guards who had initially been by his side had either become Elite Units or were very close to it.
One must understand that these fellows were newly created; becoming an Elite was no easy feat.
The more Elites there are, the more Hero Units there will be in the future, a fact that Fang Jie took very seriously.
“Very well, you lead the other Skull Soldiers and remember to protect yourselves,” Fang Jie thought, then dispersed these Skull Soldiers.
The more Elite Units in the team, the stronger the combat power they could exhibit.
On the battlefield, their performance would be notably agile, and their survival ability would also be higher.
What a pity that among his Bronze-level troops, there were no true Elites yet.
Fang Jie waved his hand, and the team continued forward.
It seemed that besides the ruins of the Alchemy Workshop, there was nothing else in this forest, at most some Magic Beasts and various small tribes.
As they went on, Fang Jie suddenly noticed something that looked like the glint of water in the distance.
“Go check it out,” Fang Jie commanded the Death Crow to fly up and towards the distant water.
But the water in the distance seemed boundless, and Fang Jie realized that this was probably not a lake but an ocean.
Although the terrain within the All Heavens Hunting Ground was quite complex, falling into the ocean would likely mean becoming part of the ocean.
Fortunately, he hadn’t had the misfortune of dropping directly into the sea.
So close, yet he was safe.
“Wait a minute, that means the eastern side of my Territory is all ocean.”
Suddenly, Fang Jie slapped his forehead: “Not necessarily all ocean, though.
If a fragment of the mountain range fell into the ocean, islands or similar geographic features could form.
Which means not all of the ocean would be open water.”
Unfortunately, it seemed he currently lacked the capability to explore the sea.
Sending Skull Soldiers into the ocean, who knows if that would be effective.
He would have to experiment with that sometime.
“Wait, what’s going on here, another abandoned Territory, and why are there so many little green-skinned Elves?” These were wild Elves, not the kind created by Qin Lan’s Territory.
Elves were not as ferocious as Goblins, but they were cleverer and bore no fondness for humans.
Encountering these creatures in the forest could be more dangerous than encountering Goblins.
A large group of little Elves was gathering in that abandoned Territory, and among them were some larger Elves, probably leaders, currently holding a banquet.
Fortunately, Elves didn’t eat humans; their diet consisted of other Magic Beasts and animals.
But seeing a cluster of Elves gathered, it was decided to wipe them out.
Fang Jie led his team forward; after all, he needed to clear this area.
He intended just to explore deeper, but since he had discovered the border, he might as well clean the entire area.
Numerous Skull Soldiers quietly surrounded the place, and when the little Elves realized something was amiss, they were already encircled by the Skull Soldiers.
The Skull Soldiers then charged in, and not a single Elf escaped.
“There are even Black Body level ones; indeed, any creature has the potential to level up,” Fang Jie mused while walking in.
But then, he noticed something amiss.
“Unclaimed Territory detected.
Do you wish to occupy it?
If occupied, it will become an Affiliated Territory.
If you choose to destroy it, you will receive some Resources.
If you abstain, it will remain a public building.”
Fang Jie suddenly came upon a notification, realizing this place was not abandoned but unclaimed.
Such unclaimed Territories could be used by others, except the Lord Mansion itself.
But with some special methods, it was possible to occupy the Lord Mansion and claim the Territory for oneself.
Fang Jie knew of such methods, just not exactly how to execute them.
However, being a Lord, he could occupy it.
“I was just looking to see if anything was left behind, but now it seems I’ve got the best thing.
It’s close to the coast, and developing towards the sea, it might turn into a port in the future.”
This location was already not too far from the coast; all that was needed was to build a road there.
In fact, a regularly constructed city might be even further away from the coast.
“Occupied,” Fang Jie made his choice.
“To occupy will cost 10,000 Spirit Points for renovation.
Do you confirm?”
“Confirmed, renovate it,” Fang Jie chose again.
Then, the entire Territory began to change, with a unique aura spreading throughout.
It felt like the breath of Death, only somewhat different.
The style of all buildings in the Territory began to transform.
What was originally wood style gradually turned into the style of the Undead.
That meant incorporating bones and a sense of decay, imparting a somewhat disheartening style upon first glance.
Unless it reached the level of a town, that sense of loss would not dissipate, but it would add a sense of horror.
“Please name the Affiliated Territory.”
“It’s close to the coast and will later develop into a seaside city; let’s call it Coastal Village.”
“Naming successful.
Original Territory has Territory Talent detected.
Talent transformation beginning, transformation complete.”
Coastal Village: (Undead) Undead Battle: Warrior type Undead Troops, Attack Power increased by 5%.
“What a rubbish Talent,” Fang Jie couldn’t help but feel speechless at the Talent, judging it probably as one created by a normal level test.
It wouldn’t even be like this at the level of Danger.
Fang Jie also understood why this place was unclaimed; the original Lord was too useless, whether they chose to abandon it or not, and ended up being vanquished by other creatures in the forest.
It was very likely that those little Elves had killed him.
