Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe-Chapter 725: True Might
Adam watched the magical artifact streak across the sky like a bolt of judgment, leaving behind a trail of mana so dense and powerful that it was unlike anything he'd ever felt before.
Other than that, the artifact radiated an otherwordly aura that was overbearing, so much so, that the air around it twisted.
Within a few moments, the artifact had traversed the vast distance and, with a resounding boom, landed firmly in Lord White's grip.
"This is the weapon that I helped Syvarin create," said the old man with a reminiscent look in his eyes. "Alas, he never got to wield this splendid artifact."
"This…" Adam was speechless as he laid eyes on the magical artifact.
It was a staff exuding an aura of overwhelming dominance, its midnight-black body seemingly absorbing the very light around it.
At both ends of the staff, dark gold caps gleamed with a tyrannical sheen, as if forged from the molten dusk at the end of the world.
Coiled around these dark gold ends were serpents so intricate that their forms appeared almost alive.
When Lord White held the staff in his hand, it hummed with unrestrained power. Seeing this, Adam couldn't help but blurt out, "My Lord, this… is the staff alive?!"
"In a manner of speaking, yes." The old man nodded. He held the staff with both hands and positioned it horizontally before him.
His yellow eyes gleamed with magical power and the next moment, the staff started to levitate before him.
Then, Lord White's fingers glowed with mana and spiritual energy and he began weaving hand seals, causing runes to appear around the staff, slowly merging with it.
"This is a weapon that I forged from the spine of an ancient serpent from the Greater Universe," the old man explained as he continued weaving hand seals at a slow and steady pace.
"This serpent was the harbinger of doom," he continued. "It coiled around mountains and shattered continents with just its weight alone. Apart from its spine, the staff was also made from its other body parts and materials that Syvarin had gathered."
A long time later, Lord White had finished weaving the hand seals. The runes that floated around the staff had completely merged with it, disappearing from sight.
The overbearing aura that it radiated had calmed down considerably. Now, it appeared to be an unassuming weapon that looked completely ordinary to the eye.

With a wave of his hand, the magical staff floated towards Adam, levitating right before him. The youth found himself standing in stunned silence.
His gaze shifted between the staff and the old serpent several times, and he muttered incredulously, "This… this is for me?"
"I helped Syvarin forge this weapon a long time ago," Lord White spoke with a reminiscent smile. "Perhaps it was destiny that he never got to wield it in that great battle fifty thousand years ago."
He looked at Adam and smiled, "Perhaps it is destiny that you get to inherit this weapon that I crafted for him. You are his successor, after all."
From Syvarin Ven'mir's memories, Adam knew that Lord White was an exceptional artificer. Thus, it came as no surprise that he helped forge a weapon for the man.
However, what truly shocked Adam was that Lord White was giving that weapon to him. He asked nervously, "But my lord, this weapon… It was forged for someone like Magus Ven'mir. How can someone like me wield it? I fear it is too much for me to wield!"
"That is why I have sealed the staff," said the old serpent. "It will grow alongside you, Adam Constantine of Tron."
Adam was unable to find the right words to speak. His lips quivered as he gazed at the staff. No doubt it was an exceptionally powerful and precious artifact—second only to the white lotus.
He was overwhelmed by emotions, considering the fact that Lord White would go so far as to gift this fine weapon to him.
"Thank you, my lord!" He got down on his knees and sincerely bowed. This was the highest form of gratitude and respect he could show to a Magus of Lord White's caliber.
He felt no shame in kowtowing before this ancient and powerful Magus. All he felt was boundless gratitude.
"Rise, young magus," said the old serpent. "This weapon harbors the remnant will of the ancient serpent, so I shall help you tame it."
Adam rose to his feet, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "Yes, my lord! Please tell me what I need to do!"
Lord White stood in front of Adam, with the staff hovering between them. "Place both your hands on the weapon. Leave the rest to me."
"Yes, my lord!" Adam did as told and placed both hands on the body of the staff.
And the moment he did…
HIIISSSS!!!!
An ancient will residing inside the weapon awoke from its slumber! An enormous apparition emerged from the staff, glaring at the raven-haired youth with unrestrained killing intent.
It was that of a colossal serpent with dark scales. Its eyes glowed like bright yellow gems that spewed an overbearing aura filled with hostility.
The size of this snake was as big as the mountain range the staff had emerged from. In front of it, Adam looked no different than an ant.
At once, his body was drenched in a layer of cold sweat as he came face to face with the remnant will of this enormous snake!
But right at that moment…
HIIIIIISSSSSSSSS!!!!
An apparition even greater than the dark snake emerged. It had white scales and its eyes were like the blazing sun.
It was none other than Lord White!
The aura of Lord White formed an apparition that was significantly bigger and more deadly than the dark snake, its weight causing the surrounding lands to tremble from the sheer might.
In front of his might, the phantom of the dark serpent slowly shrunk back inside the staff. After it had completely disappeared into the weapon, white runes surfaced on the body of the staff.
These runes glowed with a brilliant light for several seconds before slowly dimming and then completely disappearing.
Everything returned to normal.
The phantom apparition of the dark serpent was nowhere to be seen, the staff no longer appeared as overbearing as before, and Lord White returned to looking like a harmless old man.
However, Adam knew that what he had witnessed was not an illusion.
For the first time in his life, he had witnessed with his own eyes the true might of an ancient and powerful Magus!
