Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe-Chapter 742: Serpents of War
Everyone on the battlefield watched with bated breaths as the two Rank 3 Magi from the Cult closed in on Adam who was busy preparing his summoning spell.
The Magi from Blackshore showed ecstatic expressions, while the looks of the Magi from Ravenfell turned grave and distraught.
Just when the two Rank 3 Magi were about to actually pin Adam to the ground, something unexpected happened.
The Magi's hands passed straight through Adam's figure!
As the two cultists phased past the youth with shocked expressions on their faces, his figure as well as the towering pillar dissipated into gray wisps of smoke.
An illusion!
A terrifying foreboding feeling welled up inside Malcolm Morgan's heart when he saw this scene take place.
He was now standing alone on the rooftop. He had already sent the two Magi who were with him earlier to deal with Adam.
Intense warning bells started to ring inside Malcom's mind and the sudden fear of death washed over him. Relying solely on his instincts, he gathered all the mana he could muster from his reserves in that short time and coated his upper body with it.
Then, he quickly turned around, facing the source of danger.
And there he was.
The dark-robed Magus with the pointy hat!
Adam revealed a cold grin, his dark eyes flickering with mischief. And as he looked at the fear in Malcom's eyes, his grin grew wider.
Then, he silently swung the Staff of Calamity.
BAM!!!!
At that moment, Malcolm could feel his ribs start to crack and pierce his lungs. If he hadn't protected himself with mana at the last split second, he feared that his entire upper body would have been blown away.
Such tyrannical strength!!
That was the only thought he could produce before he shot towards the distance. The impact of the staff slamming against his body caused the air around him to tear apart, creating a shockwave.
Malcolm flew away like a rag doll, his body ruthlessly smashing through one of Ravenfell's ships on the way, completely decimating it, before flying into the sea.
At once, a deafening silence descended on the battlefield. The Magi saw how Malcolm's body skipped across the surface of the water several times before plunging over hundreds of meter away from the dockside.
Then, everyone turned thier heads in the direction where Malcolm was previously standing. Now, Adam stood there with his staff resting on his shoulder.
His free hand weaved the final hand seal of the grand summoning spell and he loudly proclaimed.
"We are the legion of the endless coil, bound by blood and fang!
"From the depths we rise, our scales gleaming with the fury of war!
"Venom flows in our veins, poison lingers on our tongues!
"With every strike, our enemies wither, their screams swallowed by the dark!
"No blade can sever us, no fire can burn us, no chains can bind us!
"We slither unseen, we strike without mercy, we conquer without end!
"Our coils crush kings, our fangs humble gods!
"Through shadow and storm, through fire and flood, we remain!
"The earth trembles beneath us, the sky shudders above!
"For we are the serpents of war, and none shall stand against us!"
The following moment, the incredible amount of mana radiating from Adam coalesced together and formed an enormous portal behind him.
One could see infinite mysteries and colors radiating otherwordly terror through the dark portal that led to the unseen dimension of the Spirit World.
The moment the portal was formed, a primordial aur started to seep out from it, stretching to every corner of Blackshore. Every person in the city could feel this primal aura.
It was as if they had been transported back in time. An uneasy feeling gripped their hearts… that they were no longer the creatures standing at the top of the food chain!
Adam raised both his hands, his presence and aura no different than a harbinger of doom.
He grinned from ear to ear as he felt countless pairs of predatory eyes gazing at his back from beyond the portal, waiting for his command.
"Serpents of the Coil," he proclaimed with tyrannical authority, his words allowing no room for defiance. "This is your cry for war…
"War! War! War!"
HIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSS!!
From the portal, countless serpents emerged. Some were small, while others were enormous. Their strength ranged from Rank 1 to Rank 2.
Close to a thousand snakes arrived from the Coil of Eternity, their eyes gleaming with hunger for blood, flesh, and bones.
They had heard the call of their summoner!
Now, all that awaited was destruction!
Seeing so many terrifying serpents fill every inch of the Darkfang Docks, forget the Magi of the Umbra Thieves and the Cult of Bones, even the forces from Ravenfell felt a chill crawl down their spines, and they were completely unable to move their bodies.

Adam's lips parted and he declared in snaketongue, "The Magi representing the symbol of the raven must not be harmed. As for the rest… posion them, devour them, slaughter them all!"
A collective hiss was released from all the serpents, the blood-curdling sound reaching not just all corners of Blackshore but even the surrounding lands for several miles.
Without a moment of delay, the serpents had begun their slaughter!
At that point, the forces of Ravenfell did not even need to participate in the battle. They were too scared to after seeing their vision occupied by all kinds of terror-inducing serpents.
The undead creatures summoned by the cultists were no match for the serpents at all. And neither were the living armed forces of Blackshore and the Cult.
Adam then turned his attention to the two Rank 3 necromancers, standing on the battlefield, looking around in shock and dismay.
"Your turn to die," the raven-haired youth coldly declared. He lodged his staff on the roof of the building before tossing two red crystals in the air before him.
The crystals slowly started to break down into fine pieces as Adam began weaving a series of hand seals. Then, the crystal particles sparked to life, and two magic circles were formed.
Rank 3 Spell: Great Fireball!
Two enormous flaming spheres with a one-meter radius shot towards the necromancers.
The two Magi hurriedly cast spells and erected a barrier in a timely manner.
But much to their shock, they found that the fireballs dissipated into gray smoke the moment they arrived before them.
Another illusion!
The two cultists didn't have time to even think as Adam had suddenly appeared before them like a ghost.
BAM! BAM!
He swung his staff twice, sending both Magi hurling in the same direction Malcolm had flown earlier.
Adam then tured to look at the second-in-command of the Black Legion and instructed, "Raidon, make sure all the enemies here are dead. My serpents will aid you. As for those Rank 3 Cultists…"
The youth turned towards the Galestine Ocean, looking into the distance. "Leave them to me."
Without waiting for the man's response, Adam stretched his hand in the direction of the enormous portal to the Spirit World that was still active.
His lips curled into a smile and he made a grasping motion, "Come, serpent. I know you've been itching for a bloody battle."
HIIISSSSSS!!!
A resounding cry far more deadly and terrifying rang from within the portal, and a black serpent with bloodthirsty topaz eyes slowly emerged from it.
This serpent was bigger, stronger, and more vicious than any of the creatures that were summoned before.
And the aura it radiated…
It was no weaker than the strength of a Rank 3 - Mana Vortex Magus!!
