Guide to Failing as a Full-Level Green Tea-Chapter 24 - Heartless Little Girl
The emperor looked resigned, as if letting them mess around. “Go ahead, Gao Huaichang, take a few people with you and accompany her.”
Rong Shuyao’s face lit up with joy. She glanced at Shen Roujia, seeing her expression unchanged, and thought to herself, “Let’s see how long you can keep pretending.”
Since everyone’s residences were close to each other, they quickly went to search without delay.
Rong Shuyao stood rigidly outside, watching as they searched back and forth.
Gao Huaichang looked at Rong Shuyao with displeasure. “Miss, this matter has nothing to do with you, does it?”
Rong Shuyao’s heart tightened, but she kept her expression unchanged and answered, “Of course it has nothing to do with me.”
Gao Huaichang nodded skeptically. “That’s good.”
They searched several times, even checking the beams, but found no witchcraft doll, not even a single extra needle or thread.
The search party reported back to Rong Shuyao empty-handed. “Chief Advisor Rong, we found nothing.”
Rong Shuyao frowned. “What? Are you blind? Can’t you even find one item?”
Without another word, Rong Shuyao pushed past them and walked into the room.
Gao Huaichang’s face darkened, and he pursed his lips tightly, following her inside.
She went straight to the bed curtains, bending down to look under the bed, but it was empty.
Seeing this, Rong Shuyao’s face changed, her lips turning pale. “What’s going on?”
Gao Huaichang frowned and urged, “Since that’s the case, let’s report back to His Majesty.”
Rong Shuyao stood there, gritting her teeth. “Mr. Gao!”
Gao Huaichang, with his back to her, said, “Miss, our prince has treated you well enough. You should learn to be content.”
Hearing this, Rong Shuyao felt as if a bucket of ice water had been poured over her, chilling her to the bone.
Shen Roujia quietly pinched her nails, but perked up when she heard people approaching.
Seeing Rong Shuyao looking deflated like a wilted balloon, Shen Roujia felt much more at ease.
Gao Huaichang reported to the emperor, “Your Majesty, we found no evidence of witchcraft.”
Shen Roujia slightly raised her chin and exchanged a secret smile with Xiao Fu.
Seeing the emperor looking over, she adopted a pitiful expression. “Father Emperor, as long as His Highness is safe, I don’t mind being wronged or misunderstood. Please don’t hold it against them, His Highness’s health is what matters.”
Rong Shuyao was infuriated, thinking, “Why is this vase so hard to deal with now?”
The emperor glared at Zisu, who was kneeling on the ground. “Good, very good. Now even a servant dares to slander her master. Guards, drag this insolent wretch out and beat her to death with sticks!”
Zisu shivered in fear and collapsed to the ground. “No, Your Majesty, it’s true! I really saw it!”
The emperor rubbed his temples, feeling his anger rise. He pointed at Rong Shuyao, venting his frustration. “And you, the Crown Princess mistreats servants? You dare say such things? Look at her, huh? Can she bully anyone?”
Hearing this, Shen Roujia’s eyes reddened, and she began to sob softly without any pretense.
Rong Shuyao was nearly driven mad by her crying.
“Your Majesty, Xiao Die’s death is true, I just…”
The emperor waved his hand irritably. “Out of respect for your father, I have forgiven you many times. Now, get out of my sight.”
Shen Roujia timidly interjected, “Father Emperor, I only brought Xiao Fu with me. How did this Zisu girl arrive here before me?”

Just then, a clear laugh came from outside.
Everyone looked over and saw Su Chen enter gracefully.
“I heard the commotion from afar. Oh, everyone is here.”
Su Chen glanced around the room and clicked his tongue. “Your Majesty, why didn’t you call me for such an incident?”
The emperor looked displeased at the servants outside. “Why did you disturb the National Advisor?”
Su Chen waved his hand dismissively, glancing at Xu Zening from afar. “If I didn’t come, your son’s condition might worsen.”
Hearing this, the emperor tensed up. “What do you mean by that, National Advisor?”
Su Chen nonchalantly flicked his sleeve. “I saw them searching the courtyard. Why not send someone to the southwest corner? The evil spirit is there.”
The emperor’s attitude changed immediately. “Gao Huaichang, quickly, send someone to search.”
Gao Huaichang respectfully took the order, glanced at Rong Shuyao with some difficulty, then turned and left without a word.
It didn’t take long for Gao Huaichang to return, holding a wooden box.
“Your Majesty, we found it. This peach wood doll has His Highness’s name and birthdate carved on it.”
The emperor was furious. “Where was it found?”
Gao Huaichang answered respectfully, “In Chief Advisor Rong’s room.”
Shen Roujia frowned slightly, looking at Su Chen in confusion. Why did he suddenly help her?
Su Chen met her gaze and raised his eyebrows playfully.
As the emperor was about to speak in anger, Xu Zening struggled to sit up, coughing. “Cough, cough.”
Shen Roujia hurriedly went to support him. “Your Highness, please lie down.”
Ignoring Shen Roujia, Xu Zening spoke directly, “Father Emperor, this doll has nothing to do with Shuyao. I gave it to her. It’s just a girl’s toy. Let’s just forget about this.”
Shen Roujia listened to his obviously flawed explanation. The always rigorous and gentle Crown Prince would lose his composure for a woman.
She really wanted to ask him, couldn’t he see that Rong Shuyao had intended to harm her from the start?
Why didn’t he speak up for her when she was being wronged?
Now, he blindly defended Rong Shuyao without distinguishing right from wrong.
Shen Roujia felt a surge of disgust. Though she had no expectations of Xu Zening, she felt a moment of profound sadness for her original self.
The emperor also sensed Xu Zening’s partiality, making the situation awkward.
“This…”
Su Chen lazily scanned the room, his lips curling slightly. “Your Majesty, this is now a family matter. I shall take my leave.”
Shen Roujia looked at Xu Zening and let out a self-mocking laugh. “Your Majesty, I am useless and can’t alleviate Father Emperor’s worries.”
The emperor rubbed his temples. “I will give you an explanation. You should go rest now.”
Shen Roujia obediently nodded and left without looking back at the people inside the room.
As she left, she pulled Gao Huaichang aside, whispered a few words, then turned and left with Xiao Fu.
Just outside the courtyard, Su Chen blocked her path. “Heartless little girl, just like Gu Zhi.”
Shen Roujia thought Su Chen was too enchanting, especially in the dark. His eyes looked particularly bewitching.
But she also felt a slight sense of danger.
Shen Roujia, with an innocent face, acted dumb and smiled sweetly. “Oh, it’s all thanks to your brilliant strategy, National Advisor.”
Su Chen chuckled, “Every time Elder Su appears, he brings his own background music…”
