She continued " The research project that included the overseas researchers was about creating devices called Terror Repelling devices.

These devices would have the ability to generate frequencies that can repel diabolic beasts during a beast tide. So if diabolic beasts start a beast tide and are heading torwards their targeted location, the frequencies the Terror Repelling Devices will generate will influence the diabolic beasts to turn around and leave, putting an end to the beast tide. This was the research Arkon and I had been working on for a very long time before some things happened and he dissapeared . I didn’t know he will achieve a breakthrough and use it in such a bad way, whiles we are still struggling "

Kailen asked " What happened between you two?"

She sighed , her gaze peering through the veil of memories " Arkon was branded a lunatic by the federation. His wife and daughter were murdered by someone, and he was blamed for it. How do I know he was not the killer? I have no proof, but I knew Xandros would never kill his own wife and daughter. He was sent to Tartarus ,the prison for holding deranged awakeners in the federation.

I used my connections to have him secretly freed . This was the last favor I could do for my friend of many years"

Kailen listened to Helena. Thanks to the Detective Gimmicks skill, he knew she was telling the truth.

The woman added " However before he left, he asked me to join him so that we could advance our research ,achieve a breakthrough, so that he could get revenge on the Federation for blaming him for the loss of his daughter and wife, and branding him a villain for crimes he did not commit. I rejected his offer, thinking I had managed to talk him out whatever absurd thing he wanted to do. He agreed to drop the research since I wouldn’t join him. He told me he would leave out the rest of his days touring the federation with his research assistant as he tried to heal from the wound of his loss .

" Kailen, the Antartica expedition we are planning to embark on is to find S ranked energy orbs that can aid us in finding results for the final pages of our research. We have managed to complete the final phases of the Terror Repelling Devices. However the only thing left is to find S ranked energy orbs that can power the devices to generate the needed frequencies that can repel the diabolic beasts"

Kailen nodded in understanding " With the way things are going, it seems the expedition has to be moved nearer as soon as possible. Arkon Xandros night strike very soon. Now that the existence of the Syndicate would be made public ,he won’t see any reason to hide himself. He would make a public appearance very soon"

" Exactly my thoughts " Helena nodded in agreement " I will deal with that. As you mentioned during your delivery at the meeting,Arkon is behind the happenings at the Narama Rath boarder. Perhaps you could try to locate some Terror Inducing devices when you join the war. It will help us in our research"

Kailen nodded at her words " Thank you Helena "

She was shocked " For what?"

Kailen added " For taking in Arrie and proving to her that good people still exist. Had you not done that, I wouldn’t have met her and I probably wouldn’t be the person I am right now"

" Awww . Anything for my future son in law" Helena chuckled , pulling Kailen in for a hug.

The duo left the lounge.

" How’s the old man doing?" Kailen asked .
