The whole Federation had mixed reactions after the bombshells that had been just dropped on them.

First was the news of what the husband of the Xu Li noble family’s head, Jane, had done in his lifetime and all the evil he had committed.

Various people who were related to his female victims in anyway had started to come out to testify to the truth of this news. Various issues sprung up amongst the public in general as the Xu Li noble family decided to compensate these victims.

The family’s name was being drugged into the mud by the public , as Jane ,Reynolds,Charles and the Xu Li family itself was being bashed and slandered here and there.

Contrary to what many expected, no one took any action against these individuals .

After all, the higher ups of the federation, and the three greats had too much on their hands right now to focus on these reactions. As for he reclusive sects, they were scared to make an appearance. They had acted uninterested in matters related to the federation for a long time. They were afraid that if they made an appearance now, the Federation would turn on them for not taking up the role to protect the world in the times past.

They could have acted how they wanted in the past because they were powerful and most importantly deemed a myth.

People could not attack what they didn’t know existed after all.

However ,it was a different issue now.

Not only had their existence been proven, Kailen Darkhaven had overturned the balance of power.

Currently, the reclusive sects were powerless before him.

They made a choice to stay out of the matters of the Federation for now ,and wait it out till the planet finished evolving.

Secretly, they sent scouts to the federation to get some of these terror repelling devices to protect themselves.

Another bombshell landed.

The Federation had just been told that the planet was about experiencing another evolution and that was why the planet was shaking slightly.

People were scared shitless.

People literally dropped their dramatic focus on the news about the Xu Li family and started asking questions about what was gonna be done by the federation government to ensure their safety.

What this evolution entailed has also been literally explained to them.

Reynolds had taken responsibility to tell the Federation via a press conference and broadcast , everything Kailen had told them about the universe, and the possibility of an alien invasion in not less than 5 days.

The source of this news however ,was certified to be His Excellency Darkhaven . The people had unwavering trust in him, and attributing the news to him would dispel any form of controversies and drama.

The next piece of news gave the people hope though.

They were informed of the Terror Inducing Devices and what they could accomplish and how they could be used to control diabolic beasts,stop beast tides and even battle with the aliens who were about invading the planet.

Helena Hall and the research departments of the federation had gone to work immediately

Various universities , the three greats and higher institutions of research and learning and all come together to work on this, as the survival of humanity depended on it.

In the span of a few hours and with the help of Kailen’s naturally efficient manpower,his shadow creatures having been ordered to assist Helena and co, various medium looking sticks akin to wands were being manufactured at a rapid pace.

On a closer look ,one would realise these wands had some small devices merged at their tips.

The devices at the tips of the wands were dark in color with small transparent like orbs glowing at their center.

These were the terror inducing devices which had been renamed into Terror Repelling Devices because this time, they would not be used to cause terror,but they would be used to repel daibllic beasts. As quickly as they were made, they were distributed to the federation citizens under close monitoring by awakeners and taught how to use them.

Kailen ,having opted for a separate lab,was currently assisting Phoebe and Arrie to bring the new talent checking device to life. Some of his shadow creatures were also in the same lab helping him to multi task and work on other models.

He had rejected the help of the federation researchers and decided to handle this on his own , as he didn’t want them to slow him down.

Since the evolution of the planet would begin in a few hours, he had to have the model ready so that the moment the planet finished evolving to the ascendant level after the required period of time and his shadow creatures find a newly formed ascendant level energy orb beneath the sea to power up the model, individuals would do a recheck of their talents as soon as possible.

" Kai, why are you helping this planet so much. This is not like you" Arrie asked,curious.

Phoebe added ,puzzled." If you don’t care about earth can’t you just bolt away with those you care about ?"

Kailen was kind of being selfless which was wierd.

He only acted in the interest of himself and his loved ones.

Kailen chuckled then replied " First of all, I have the strength of an ascendant level due to my shadow creatures, but I can’t travel the universe on my own. Also , the universe is too vast for me to attempt something as risky as that right now. I could endanger those I care about as they are all weak,not forgetting that some of those I care about are non awakened who cannot travel the universe" Kailen looked at Phoebe " You, Phila, your mum and Felicia in particular "

Phoebe was shocked " You care about me? Why? We barely even know each other"

" You care about Charles don’t you?"

Kailen asked .

" Yeah, I’d do anything for him"

Phoebe replied.

" Exactly, and he cares for you too . And he’s my friend. Seeing you hurt or harmed will break his heart. He’s going through enough already."

Phoebe nodded in understanding.

It wasn’t like Kailen cared about her or anything.

That would be too unnatural. They had not even known each other for more than 24 hours after all.

However Kailen was protecting her for the sake of Charles, not because he had some sort of fondness for her. Because Charles was his friend now, seeing him hurt because if he ever lost Phoebe would be bad for Charles.

Kailen added " Hand me that protractor"

After taking the protractor from Arrie he said " Thanks babe. The circumference here should be slightly adjusted" He focused on designing a part of the model for a few seconds then added "As I was saying, Thirdly ,I haven’t built that orphanage yet.

Most importantly this planet is my parent’s final resting place. So yeah , I’m still the selfish ,self centered Kailen you know. I’m not sick in the head in case you’re a wondering. However I can’t have my parent’s final resting place desecrated by anyone"

Arrie nodded in realisation " So you are still acting purely based on your own interest err"

Kailen chuckled " Yeah"

The trio had been working on this model for close to 5 hours.

Finally, they finished up.

" How’s Charles holding up"

" He’s acting normal again. He knows what’s at stake" Phoebe said "Now is not the time to be sad"

"Brat, the evolution is starting in 4 hours

Tsk!" The time dialtion artifact said to Kailen .

Kailen nodded inwardly to the time dialtion artifact then replied Phoebe.

" That’s fine . I will talk to him after all this is over" He looked at Arrie "Babe,Tell Helena that the Terror Repelling Devices have been distributed freely she wanted "

It was obvious from Kailen’s tone that he didn’t want to give the citizens the devices freely. He wanted to suck them dry financially. However Helena has probably insisted . She was after all, very charitable, compared to the selfish, villainous Kailen.

Arrie shook her head with a slight chuckle ,figuring the annoyance in his tone.

" Could have made some money off this" Kailen mused inwardly .

He shook his thoughts away . Then proceded

"As for the ones needed to secure the perimeters of continents, countries and cities, they’ve been proficiently manned by the individuals responsible .Necessary help has been provided by my shadow creatures to enhance the level of their effiiency. The rest of the plan proceeds as Donalds ,Reynolds,Borngreat and the higher ups have decided"

Kailen voiced.

Arrie nodded,then left the room with Phoebe.

He had received this mission when the time dialtion artifact told him about the planet about to evolve.

" Not that it matters. My parent’s final resting place will not be destroyed by anyone. With or without this mission, I would have ensured the safety of this planet,not for earthlings or for some heroic reason, but to protect those I care about, and the grave of my parents. Also since this is where I was born, it’s only natural I have my wedding here"
