Chapter 47: Chapter 47. The credit plunderer 3

All eyes traced towards two individuals, the popular recommendation student who had subdued a strong classmate of theirs a day prior and a lady who enjoyed toying around with commoners.

" Can’t you hear me, are you a commoner or a no-"

Pa!

A slapping sound reverberated in the classroom, causing the onlookers to open their mouths wide in surprise. The figure of the lady who had been slapped drew an arc like motion as she was hurtled through the air, crashing into a couple of unoccupied seats.

" Did he just slap her?"

" Are you blind? Of course he did"

" Is this guy crazy. Barely two days have passed since he enrolled and not only has he offended someone with a background connected to the potion hall, he has also annoyed someone from the the Hayes noble family?’’

’’He’s gonna get himself in deep trouble’’

’’Yeah, those guys have deep ties to the military, this guy can get into really deep trouble for offending someone from the Hayes family’’

It was not like the commoners were scared of the nobles. The issue was that the noble families really had a lot of influence, causing their scions to throw their weights around.

No matter how powerful a commoner student was, he was still a single person. However, the noble scions had terrifying backgrounds that could make life really uncomfortable for the commoners. Therefore, no matter how strong the commoner students were, they had to give in to the unfair treatment of the noble scions. To them, this was better than the consequences of getting on the wrong foot of the scions of these nobles.

’’Hayes family? Is the Principal of New Alexandria academy not surnamed Hayes? She also mentioned being a high-ranking special ops agent in the military. So she’s from the same family as the snob I just thought a lesson. Interesting. From what these guys are saying, the Hayes family has deep ties to the military. Its therefore definitely no happenstance that Angela Hayes is a high-ranking special ops officer of the Federation Military. Seems she is from an extraordinary background’’

Kailen mused to himself. He was not well informed about these noble families. It seemed he had to read on them when he had the time.

As for the snob Kailen had slapped to unconsciousness earlier, she was yet to regain her consciousness. A couple of girls, probably her lackeys scurried to her side, one of them being a healer, placed her hands of the girl’s swelled cheek, healing her.

The damsel regained consciousness a few seconds later, then hurried to her feet. She fumed in obvious fury, about to head towards the puny commoner who had slapped her earlier to give him a piece of her mind. However, recalling the earlier slap, fear gripped her heart, causing her to give up. She would, however, find a way to make this gentleman pay for the humiliation he had made her suffer today.

First it was that bastard who had slapped the Ashen club members yesterday, and now this guy.

If only she knew that it was the same person, she would turn red in anger till she melts into wax.

The lady found a seat for herself, at the front row, far from the bastard, afraid of receiving another slap.

Many of the commoners were really happy inwardly, admiring the one who had the guts to do what they had wanted to do for a while now but lacked the courage to do so, inwardly laughing at the ire of the snob from the Hayes family.

Very soon, the class was full, as the chatters grew more pronounced.

’’Did you hear? The Ashen Club members were all beaten blue and black yesterday?"

’’What?!’’

’’Yeah, heard some unknown guy pretending to be some D ranked awakener went there and just beat all of them up and stole their student credits’’

’’Must be some freak from some of the other clubs who wanted to get back at the Ashen club members probably due to some feud between them’’

’’My guess too, they are calling him the credit plunderer’’

’’Hehe, I like the name. The credit plunderer’’

’’Right, but from what I heard, the guy was in some sort of mask, so they could not figure out who it was’’

’’Smart move, that way it cannot be traced back to the person’’

’’Yeah, but I am sure they will find out who the person is soon’’

’’After all, the person will have to share their student credit account number for the transfer of student credits to take place. That way, they may have the means to trace the account number to someone. Though it may take a while, I’m sure it’s possible’’

Kailen chuckled inwardly. ’’Credit Plunderer huh, not a bad name’’

’’I feel bad for her, receiving a slap from the unknown masked guy as a member of the Ashen club last night and from you this morning’’ A familiar voice traced into Kailen’s ear like a whisper, revealing a familiar face.

White hair, blue eyes, baggy jeans, cute t shirt and dainty figure. freewebnøvel.coɱ

’’The hell is she doing here? I thought she was an instructor?’’

Kailen was flabbergasted, and so were the students. What was Arrie Hall doing? And why was she acting so intimate with him, going to the point of flirtatiously whispering into his ear.

Did she know this guy?

Some of the gentlemen were even starting to add Kailen to their blacklist. Arrie Hall was one of the ladies some of them dreamt about, thought about and fantasized about, yet this guy was acting all intimate with her?

Ignoring the gazes and the dumfounded look on Kailen’s face, she giggled slightly then sat beside Kailen.

’’You are probably wondering, the hell is she doing here? I thought she was some sort of instructor right?’’

’’Great, this crazy lady can now read minds too huh’’ Kailen had regained his former demeanor, a dumfounded expression no longer on his face.

Not bothered about his silence, she placed her left hand on her temple, her head tilted sideways as she stared at him ’’I’m just the assistant instructor for the research department, that does not excuse me from being a student. Of course, being an assistant instructor has its benefits. Not only do I get a whole mansion to myself, but I also have a daily amount of 900 student credits deposited into my accounts on a daily basis. Cool right?’’

Kailen now understood the matter clearly, so she was still a student, and not a main instructor but an assistant instructor. But the hell? 900 student credits daily? Was she not a billionaire at this point?

[Here comes your first mission on how to enjoy campus life. Participate in the assistant instructor’s test which comes off two weeks from now and join the research department as an assistant instructor.

Reward: Basic potion knowledge

Failure: Try failing if you have the courage, and we will both see what will happen Tsk!!]

’’ Saw this coming’’ Kailen mused inwardly as he saw the new mission from the time dilation artifact. ’’Well, this won’t be too bad. From her words, being an assistant instructor is not so bad. A mansion and a daily transfer of 900 student credits is not a bad thing. Also curious about the reward though ’’

Kailen nodded at the lady’s words as he found the whole situation awkward. ’’This woman is too chatty and carefree, honestly, I do not know how to react towards her. Arrogant young masters and jade beauties can just be handled with a few slaps because their fort is annoying me. But a chatty person? Socialization is not my forte after all.

Also, what does she wants from me? What is her motive? Why is she being so nice to me? Why did she give me the recommendation plaque, and why did she save my life? Did she really mean it when she said she did it solely because she is a healer, and she could not see me die?

No, there must be some sort of reason why she is doing this. She probably has some ulterior motive. I need to ask her what she wants’’

He was extremely angry that this lady had an ulterior motive for helping him, but she kept acting nice, masking her selfish reasons. People were selfish. He was not naive to think people would just help you from the goodness of their heart. The wickedness of human nature had been demonstrated to him firsthand. He was not naive, or so he thought.

Kailen looked at her, as she stared at him for a while without saying anything, her head tilted, temple resting on her left hand ’’What do you want from me? Don’t give me some crap about you helping me because of some cliche novel reason and some righteous ideals like the last time. What are you doing all this for?’’

Just when Arrie was about to respond, everyone received a notification in their emails that the class had been cancelled and had been rescheduled for the next morning because the lecturer was not around.

Arrie sighed ’’ Great, class is cancelled. Let’s wait behind and have a conversation. I hope after our conversation, you won’t remain suspicious any more’’

Kailen nodded, ignoring the gazes of the other students as they left the lecture hall.

A few minutes later, the lecture hall was completely evacuated, save the duo.

’’You asked me why I have been acting so nice towards you right, probably to the point that even after you behaved skeptical towards me after I saved your life, I still handed over a recommendation plaque to you to attend this university, and is still sitting here talking to you when I have every reason to distance myself from you after how you’ve treated me, well, it’s because I used to be like you?’’

’’Syst- Time dilation artifact. I know you said you won’t be a lie detector for me but, can you help me just this once?. Is what she just said the truth?’’

[Just this once tsk!. She’s being honest with you]

After the time dilation artifact spake, Kailen was shocked.

Arrie observed him as he listened, then she proceeded to speak again. ’’When I was.....’’
