" It all makes sense now time dilation artifact. So this is what you meant" Kailen excogitated.

Kailen inhaled deeply " Arkon Xandros, I’m coming for you "

He commanded the former national level Guardian Awakener now turned shadow creature to return to the shadow expanse.

A few moments later, Kailen stood before his group of friends.

He had finished going through the memories concerning the syndicate that the shadow creature version of Phil Ngonzola had transferred to him.

He honestly didn’t know where to start from.

The information he had received was quite shocking.

" Let’s talk in the private jet. Angela has a banquet to attend"

The group were seated in a circle in the private jet about to listen to what Kailen had to say.

" Let’s start with Phila’s brother" Everyone nodded at his words ,throwing an empathic glance at Phila.

" I’m not having a hard time so you guys can stop being all lovey dovey " Phila chuckled. The last few hours she had spent with the group had caused her to loosen up. She was no longer as polite with them as she used to be.

Everyone chuckled at her words, a warm atmosphere pervading the scene.

"Phila Ngonzola was aided by the syndicate to control your parents. With the help of the Syndicate ,he somehow managed to brainwash them into slowly growing to believe and succumb to his words"

Phila’s eyes widened " This was why on the day my parents disowned me, it felt like they were acting too unnatural. They just spoonged on every accusation he made against me , believing him without battling an eye. So this was what was happening"

Kailen nodded "Also, he made sure to poison them slowly.

It’s not known to even the family elders , however both your parents are now bedridden, currently on their last legs . They have at most a year to live if nothing is done for them"

Phila would have been indifferent to Kailen’s words had she not known that Phil had brainwashed his parents’ with the Syndicate’s help.

As of now, she had treated them with contempt for being unfair to her . What sort of heartless parents would disown their young daughter, especially when she was carrying a child?

But now that she knew they had acted under the psycological altercation set up by her villaneous brother, all the hatred she felt in her heart dissipated. Phila would have broken into tears there and there had her daughter not been amongst them.

She didn’t want to be soft in front of her , however her sadness was evident in her choky voice as she asked next " Is there no way to help them?"

Kailen sighed inwardly . He knew Phila’s pain. If someone could relate with the pain of losing one’s parents, it was him. He smiled confidently " Don’t worry Phila, they will be fine. I have a way "

Thanks to the basic potion knowledge skill, Kailen had received knowledge on making the potion that could bring a person who was at death’s door that even an S ranked healer could not heal back to life.

" There’s just one tiny issue. I have to go to Antartica for one of the materials . However that’s not something to worry about. I -"

Before Kailen could finish talking ,Arrie interjected

"There will be an Antartica expedition about 6 months from now which will be led by my mum.

The details cannot be communicated at the moment since I personally don’t know the reason for this expedition. Mum just mentioned it to the staff of the research department ,hinting that she would tell us more about it when the time is right. Maybe you guys could volunteer to join the expedition when the invitation slots are released. How about we all join hands to help Kailen find this item that can help save the life of Phila’s parents?"

Arrie’s bubly smile and sparkly blue eyes scanned the faces present, causing everyone to nod, except Angela Hayes.

She coughed awkwardly as everyone looked at her with a weird expression " I cannot promise I will join the expedition since I’m a special ops agent of the military . I don’t know if I would be assigned a mission at the time so don’t get me wrong. However I’m not heartless enough to ignore my father’s best friend when I can help save his life and that of his wife so, I will apply for a leave"

Phila’s eyes widened " You are the daughter of the Hayes’ family head?"

" Yeah" Angela chuckled. " Is that an accomplishment?"

Everyone shook their heads. Angela was really an oddball, a good oddball though.

Others would pride and swag around snobbing over others with this identity but she was extremely low-key about it,not even viewing it as something special.

They had to admit, they admired her for this.

But wait special ops agent of the military?

Phila’s voice snapped the group our of their thoughts "Interesting, you are that mysterious elder daughter of the Hayes family I used to hear rumors about when I was young and visited the estate with my dad?"

" Seems you guys have history. Talk about it later guys. Since we’ve all agreed to join the expedition ,technically Angela agreed but she could have simply said she agreed instead of acting like she didn’t agree to join at first then agree later " Kailen added,rubbing his hands together.

Everyone chuckled at his words. He made a " what?" expression, only to see Angela staring daggers at him.

" Okay, sorry mum" Kailen flinched, raising up his hands in defeat.

The group chuckled at the whole drama, making the atmosphere light hearted.

" So even uncle Kailen fears someone "

Little Felicia’s words further added fuel to the fire, making Kailen the subject of teases and comedic mockery.

" Thank you Kailen, everyone "

Phila and Micheal stood up, then bowed to the group. They were willing to sacrifice to thread on unchartered waters just to find an ingredient that could help cure Phila’s dad. This was something the couple didn’t take for granted.

" Guys, that’s what friends do . No need to be so uptight" Arrie took Kailen’s words right out of his mouth.

" You youngsters can be naive at times. They see you as friends of course, however this is something they have to drop all politeness and thank you for. Just because they are your friends does not mean they should take a kindness of this callibre for granted" Angela’s tone was full of warmth and maturity.

Kailen and Arrie ’s eyes beamed with realisation .

Quickly, they nodded to Angela, who could presumably be their older sister, then responded to Micheal and Phila still bowing before them " The pleasure is ours"

Micheal and Phila heaved in relief, returning to their usual self " You guys made us feel awkward there" Micheal chuckled as he sat down with his wife.

Kailen smiled then added " Sorry lol..Anyway guys, as I was saying , Phila Ngonzola was one of the high ranking members of the Terror Surge Syndicate. However his clearance only allowed him to have a few conversations with the head of the syndicate. That was never done in person though,but through a special phone handed over to him by the syndicate. There were no video calls, only voice calls on a few occasions. From the calls made between him and the founder of the Terror Surge Syndicate, it seemed the syndicate wanted to use him to gain control over the Ngonzola family in order to turn every member of the family into a member of the Terror Surge Syndicate . Unfortunately , that part of the plan was about to be unveiled when the incident today occured. The syndicate must be fuming right now. A great part of their plan have been technically soiled"

Everyone nodded in understanding .

Kailen added " That’s it about Phil Ngonzola ’s side. Up next, is what I got from the shadow creature formed from the National level Guardian Awakener"

Kailen turned towards Angela " Do you remember the bombing incident that occured at the black market ?"

Angela nodded .

" You mentioned the bomb was made in the military and therefore, the syndicate probably had some connections to the military . It’s true. The Terror Surge Syndicate has spies in the military. The guy’s memories indicated that certain high ranking members of the military were spies of the syndicate. The shocking part is, that Angela, your brother, Isaac Hayes’ direct superior in the military ,is one of those spies"

Angela’s eyes widened. It seemed her brother was not safe. If her brother’s superior was one of those spies?

Then could her brother too be a spy?

" I know what you are thinking, honestly I can’t tell if your brother is a spy or not . However I have a way to find out. Do you happen to have a suit for a banquet?"

" I don’t know what method you have in mind but , you have a knack for pulling off crazy stuff, so sure. You need a suit, will get you one. Would you guys like to attend too?"

Angela turned to look at Micheal, Arrie, and Phila.

Before they could even reply ,Felicia replied " Yes! Auntie"

The couple chuckled,as Arrie ruffled the hair of Felicia seated on her lap.

It seemed they had to attend this banquet.

Whatever Kailen had in mind, they wouldn’t ask.

They were just curious about how he was gonna pull it off.

" Arrie, have your mother ever made mention of this name, Arkon Xandros, to you?"

Kailen’s question caused the bubly expression on Arrie’s face to freeze.

Even Angela’s expression changed at this point.
