" Am I supposed to be there ?"

Kailen was rather resigned . He agreed with the military and the higher ups of the federation being informed about the Terror Surge Syndicate and the information he had found.

However he would have loved to sit out on this so called meeting.

Angela knew Kailen’s personality very well . She wasn’t surprised. Quickly she bobbed her head " Alright ,that’s alright with me. Besides you have every reason to not give a crap about anyone in the room. You are strong enough to be every one’s superior, not after what we’ve witnessed you do"

" Totally agree with this one" Arrie added as she hummed a tune , her earpiece playing a song she was listening to.

" Alright. Since it’s decided ,let me communicate this to Officer Tribiani"

Angela walked off, leaving Arrie and Kailen alone. The duo proceeded outside to the outskirts of the hall, standing on the balcony,facing the calm sea several 100 kilometers below the mountain on which the house stood as the illuminant moon of the night basked on their faces.

" I’m not mad you know" Arrie tone grew soft as she shifted to look at Kailen

Kailen sighed in relief " That’s a relief "

" Why?" Arrie asked, chuckling.

" Because you are the last person whose feelings I’d want to hurt. I noticed you were curious about the coded conversation I was having with Angela when we met her Felicia and Phila earlier today ,however you restrained yourself from asking what we were talking about. Yet, I was worried you’d think I was hiding something from you" Kailen stared at Arrie, drawing closer to her, his gaze softening.

" Kailen,I’m proud of you" Arrie said something Kailen would have never expected her to see, her voiced tinged with honesty and bubliness.

Before he asked her why she’d say that, she furthered "When I met you, you were rarely speaking to anyone,closed even, hiding in your own broken world. But now, you are worried about hurting the people you care about ,it takes a lot of maturity to be considerate about the feelings of the people you care about Kai"

Kailen felt warmth flooding his heart.

Arrie’s words really meant a lot to him.

" Thank you Arrie ,means a lot coming from you and what’s with the pet name?"

Arrie’s checks reddened as she harrumphed warmly " Well, aren’t we a couple?"

Kailen chuckled, seeing her cute behavior. " I was gonna technically ask you out today . But it seems you were one step ahead of me. Arrie, we are officially a couple starting today"

The moment Arrie heard that, she jumped into Kailen’s arms ,hugging him tightly.

Kailen enjoyed the warmth of her embrace, hugging her back.

However what happened next caused him to be completely shocked.

He felt some sort of liquid on his clothes .

" Arrie ,are you crying?" Kailen asked ,his voice full of concern .

" I’m just so happy Kai. You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for you to say those words"

Kailen chuckled, his hands petting her hair softly

" How long have we even known each other?"

" You .. you meanie" Arrie hit his chest, causing Kailen to feign a cough, acting as though he were in pain.

He held his chest, staggering backwards.

" To think the mighty Kailen Darkhaven would fall to the clutches of a normal blow from the Dainty Witch" His words caused Arrie to harrumph . However the corners of her mouth was tinged with a smirk.

It was refreshing to see the all serious and nonchalant Kailen acting so playfully with her.

Quickly, she voiced seriously " Kailen"

Kailen quickly turned serious , stopping the playful act.

" I know you have secrets you can’t tell me now, but I’m willing to be patient . Even if you have a normal background, your abilities are too extraordinary for you to have achieved so much in such a short time with your own efforts. I want you to know that you don’t have to feel burdened about telling me anything. If you must be keeping something from me,it’s probably for the best. I don’t advocate keeping secrets from one another in a relationship, because I’ve seen the worst in people in the past and being in the dark about something when it comes to my partner will scare me. However I will make an exception this time. In fact I trust you so much that I’m fine with it.Take all the time you need. When you need me,I’ll be here for you. Also, If you ever break my heart Kai, I’ll destroy you in the nuts"

Kailen chuckled at Arrie’s last words, however he felt so lucky to have Arrie .

Kailen held her by impulse ,pulling her in his embrace for another hug.

He held her chin softly, then spoke in the most sincere, most warm way he had ever spoken to anyone after his parents passed away " I love you Arrie"

Kailen planted a kiss on her forehead, causing her to blush so seriously that looking at her would make it look like she was a red tomato.

Tears kept falling from her eyes, as she pulled Kailen in for another tight hug.

" I love you too hooded Devil"

Kailen chuckled , "Hooded Devil huh. How many pet names are you gonna give me,Dainty Witch "

The two chuckled softly,then remained in the same posture for a while,lost in their own world. The atmosphere was growing tense between the teenagers, their hormones triggering a series of possible scenarios this whole scene could play out if this scene continued.
