A lady voiced confidently. However , her counterpart , a male with a buzz cut who attended Zanpala university , a fan boy of Arrie,having met this lady at the banquet after attending with his parents just like her,gave her a questioning glance, snorting derisively ,literally treating her words like a pile of dirt.

" Do you really hear yourself? Why am I even trying to convince you. I’ll just earn lots of money if you lose anyway"

Various discussions broke out amongst the crowd, as they placed their bets.

Unfortunately for Kailen, not a single person decided to engage in a bet with him.

The same was so for the powerful people. Each one of them had a very keen sense of judgement, causing anyone who thought to engage in bets with them to question their own judgement in the process, eventually giving up on making the bets out of fear of having made the wrong judgement about who’d win.

The bets were literally placed by the youngsters, well literally apart from Kailen and we’ll, the people in his circle were avoided like plagues too, for some reason.

" I wanted to use the money earned from the bets to build an orphanage. Too bad "

Kailen’s response elicited a snort from the Time Dilation Artifact [ You have more than enough money to build an orphanage. If you wanted to do that, you’d have done it a long time ago. Stop being shameless .Tsk!]

Kailen shook his head. He’d have loved to retort to the Time Dilation Artifact’s words, however he didn’t want to get literally flayed alive by the Time Dilation Artifact, especially not infront of so many people.

The reporters however were seriously recording the match .

The duo stood in the arena, now having a different set of clothes compared to previously.

It was obvious they had opted for a change of clothes because they felt the previous once were only suitable for the banquet and would halt their movements on the battlefield.

Finally , the three minutes period was up.

The bets were halted.

The countdown for the match to begin was up. The protective formations were activated over the battlefield.

Edna did not make use of her affinity, shooting towards Arrie with swift speed, leaving a trail of wind in her wake.

Arrie responded in kind, humming a tune with some sort of bubbly smile on her face, flashing towards her opponent.

The duo clashed in the middle of the arena now donned with protective barriers for the sake of those who would be weak and would be caught in the attacks of the fighters.

The duo engaged in a flurry of multiple physical exchanges for some moments,not involving their respective affinities, their clashes causing gusts of wind to spread in the arena.

The ground however remained dauntless , made of the finest architectural material. At least for those below the S ranked awakeners, no harm would be caused to the ground.

A kick from Arrie attempted to ram into Edna ’s chest, however Edna sidestepped, retuning the attack with a roundhouse kick aimed at Arrie’s jaw .

She dodged , the gust of wind following the attempted attack brushing past her face.

"An opening"

Arrie mused , ramming a kick towards Edna ’s flank.

Edna grimaced in pain, being hurtled backwards.

She performed a few Aerial maneuvers in the air, then landed safely on the ground.

She touched the ground with her hands, causing the vibrations in the ground to shift,albeit slightly , a couple of ginormously thick vines quickly sprouting of the ground where Arrie was standing.

The vines closed in on Arrie ,their lifelike openings akin to several mouths with razor sharp teeth heading towards her figure from multiple directions.

The onlookers watched as Arrie stood still , not reacting in anyway possible to the attack, the bubbly smile still on her face as she hummed a tune.

Just when the attacks almost landed on her figure, two large ginormous needles materialized,hovering in the air, defying gravity, merging together with dexterous malleability , further turning into some sort of metallc envelope that formed a small dome around her figure in the next moment. The human sized metallic dome in which Arrie was enveloped hovered on the air,defying gravity .

The vines redirected their trajectory ,whistling towards Arrie completely covered in the metallic dome , hovering in the air.

Metallic clangs rung throughout the environs as the thick ginormous vines made contact with the metallic dome now covering Arrie .

" Damnit . I wanted to paralyse her with my signature move for a while and take advantage of that to beat her up in the most humiliating way possible " Edna fumed inwardly .

" Let’s see how long she can keep this up"

Under the control of Edna ,the vines relentlessly clashed with the metallic dome producing incessant clanging sounds for a couple of moments.

However her attacks proved futile as she sweated profusely .

A bubbly voice finally reverberated through the environs.

" I’m bored. Perhaps I should end this charade. I thought I could watch you make a fool of yourself a little bit . Nonetheless, it seems I’ll have to end this charade now since it seems you are at your wit’s end"

Arrie’s words caused Edna to fume, a chill running down her spine, her eyes revealing a trace of shock. She was at the peak of B rank, how was it possible that someone who was equally in the B rank was toying with her . The only reason why had the confidence to trounce the Dainty Witch and steal her rumored man, all at the same time making a name for herself, was because she was confident she was confident in her strength.

However what was happening before her was completely out of her expectations.

The metallic dome descended towards the ground, turning into gigantic needles again,which further turned into extremely tiny metallic needles and dissapeared into Arrie’s hair.

The vines hurtled towards her as usual. However her movements were nimble. Each step she took was graceful, perfectly complementing her dainty figure. It was as though Arrie was dancing. freeωebnovēl.c૦m

She would move unpredictably like a snake with one step , then as graceful as a bird in another.

This was one of Arrie’s signature moves, a movement technique she had created after some months of research a year ago.

It was called Insidious Dance.

Edna mused " What a monster. I guess I have to use my last resort "

Edna’s vines grew more ginormous , thick green fumes of poisonous fog radiating from them,pervading the arena as they attempted to make contact with Arrie.

Even if they didn’t manage to make contact with Arrie, the poison in them could paralyse her for a while, giving her enough time to beat up Arrie and humiliate her. As long as she didn’t give her any life threatening injuries, a normal humiliation would be fine right?

However ,contrary to her expectations, Arrie hummed, still bubly.

The expected paralysis did not occur like she had expected.

What she saw next was extremely shocking.

Arrie was grinning, humming a tune, standing before her.
