Help, I'm in Another World and All the Men Are Are So Dangerous! [BL]-Chapter 120: Rocco’s Desperate Plea
Chapter 120: Rocco’s Desperate Plea
As a result of Georgio’s new position as the Guildmaster of the Assassin Guild, the previously neutral organization became a de facto subordinate faction of the Di Malvento family, since Georgio was one of Rocco’s closest aides.
However, structurally, the guild was no longer a guild in name or function.
Officially, the remaining members of the guild were absorbed into the Di Malvento family, forming a newly created the "Assassins Squad" directly under their command, with Georgio as its leader.
Fortunately—or perhaps unfortunately, depending on one’s perspective—the guild members didn’t seem to hold any personal attachment to their late Guildmaster.
No one opposed the idea of Georgio taking the reins.
Assassins, it seemed, were accustomed to forming detached, pragmatic relationships.
Revenge or lingering sentiment wasn’t part of their nature.
They simply followed the strong.
By aligning with someone powerful, they ensured opportunities to face even stronger foes in battle.
It was a mindset Rocco, a peace-loving soul by nature, found utterly incomprehensible.
Still, he was relieved that Georgio hadn’t earned any lasting grudges in the process.
And so, the chaotic series of events came to an end.
Rocco, who had fainted after witnessing death firsthand, was carried back to the mansion.
However when he awoke, peace was, predictably, nowhere to be found.
"...Rocco," a deep, accusatory voice rumbled. "Why didn’t you invite me?"
When Rocco’s eyes fluttered open, he found himself lying in the comfort of his own bed in the main mansion.
Relieved, he contemplated curling up and drifting back to sleep.
However, someone who had been nestled beside him woke up as well, and now Rocco found himself smothered in a tight embrace.
The "someone" in question?
None other than his ever-composed elder brother, Sylas.
"Mmph... B-but... it was dangerous, so I..." Rocco mumbled, his voice muffled by Sylas’s firm hold.
"...How cruel," Sylas said, his tone carrying a rare hint of petulance. "To leave me out like that. I wanted you to invite me too."
Sylas spoke as if this were an outing or a school trip, but Rocco couldn’t help but think, This was a battleground, not some casual excursion!
This isn’t the kind of thing to pout over.
Still, the embrace felt unusually strong this time—borderline suffocating.
"Mmmph... too tight..." Rocco whimpered, flailing his arms and legs in an attempt to free himself.
Noticing his younger brother’s struggle, Sylas finally loosened his grip, though his expression still carried a pouty, sulking undertone.
"Mmmph... Big Brother, by the way, why are you here? This is... my room," Rocco asked, blinking in confusion.
"What of it?" Sylas replied smoothly, his voice low and steady. "Do you dislike having me here? Do you hate sharing a bed with me?"
"N-no, not at all!" Rocco exclaimed, panic creeping into his voice.
His face flushed as he hurriedly clung to Sylas, wrapping his arms and legs tightly around him like a koala.
"I love you, Big Brother! I’m so happy you’re here!"
Sylas, clearly pleased by this outburst, gave a satisfied nod.
"So much love for me, huh? How adorable," he murmured, his voice warm with amusement.
Rocco could only let out a dry laugh.
Seriously... Sylas’s behavior is so different from the original story that I’m more confused than genuinely happy...
Still, at least Sylas seemed to have cooled down.
That was a relief; when Sylas was angry, it wasn’t just intimidating—it was potentially life-threatening.
For now, getting him to calm down was the top priority.
After several minutes of clinging to Sylas and playing the role of the doting younger brother, Sylas’s mood finally seemed to improve.
With a soft expression still lingering on his face, Sylas sat up.
"You must be hungry. Let’s have breakfast together," he declared.
Rocco’s eyes briefly lit up at the mention of food, but the added "together" at the end of Sylas’s sentence made his enthusiasm dim instantly.
Having breakfast with Sylas?
There’s no way I’ll be able to relax enough to enjoy the food...
Still, protesting wasn’t an option.
Forcing a bright smile, Rocco exclaimed, "Yay!" and bounced in place. freēnovelkiss.com
Pride? H
e didn’t have the luxury of worrying about that.
Survival came first.
"—Huh? A meeting?"
This came after breakfast, which Rocco had hastily finished while under Sylas’s watchful gaze.
Now, as he walked through the estate on his usual morning stroll, Sylas silently followed him from a short distance behind.
Naturally, Rocco couldn’t just turn around and say, "Big Brother, you’re distracting me. Could you please leave?" Instead, he trudged along, feeling the weight of Sylas’s presence.
It wasn’t until Sylas walked up beside him, his expression unusually conflicted, that Rocco realized Sylas had something to say.
After a moment’s hesitation, Sylas finally spoke.
"Yes, a meeting. It concerns the matter you so conveniently excluded me from. It seems it has ties to the two great families," Sylas said, his voice carrying a subtle edge.
Rocco forced a strained, apologetic smile in response.
Even with that composed face, he’s still holding a grudge about that...
"What... What do you mean by ’involvement’? Wasn’t that supposed to be just Georgio and the Assassin Guild’s issue?"
Rocco asked cautiously, choosing his words carefully.
Internally, he was in full panic mode, overwhelmed by confusion.
The idea that the two great families were involved in Georgio and Vaan’s revenge plot?
That was never part of the original story.
Actually... there seem to be a lot of unexpected twists lately.
Could this be because my ’villain gets his comeuppance’ ending was erased?
The thought nagged at him.
There’s no way I can keep track of all these truths and developments that I never knew about...
Keeping these meta musings hidden, Rocco put on a clueless, innocent act as he posed the question.
Sylas gave a small nod, his expression serious as he explained.
"I don’t have all the details yet either, but it seems a third party interfered in their conflict. This third party apparently wields significant power and is targeting the two great families," Sylas said.
"I see... So that’s why the meeting is being held," Rocco replied thoughtfully.
