His After The Heartbreak (BL)-Chapter 91: Too Little, Too Late
Chapter 91 - Too Little, Too Late
Chapter 91- Too little, Too Late
Tyler's POV
I watched as Declan stood up, his face full of regret, his eyes pleading with me like I was supposed to feel sorry for him. But instead of sympathy, a wicked laugh burst out of me, sharp and cutting. It was the kind of laughter that could make someone's skin crawl with shame.
He thought I'd forgive him?
Didn't your skin crawl when you made those apologies, Declan? I asked, tilting my head. But he didn't answer. Of course, he didn't.
That's how my skin crawled when I heard those pathetic apologies from you.
So now you want to apologize? After everything?
After threatening me? After threatening Mom and leaving her to be kidnapped?
Even though she denied it, I knew the truth.
I knew she was taken.
I knew you warned her not to say a word about it. That if she dared open her mouth, you'd make her suffer. I knew everything.
That day, when you accused us of running away, I told you, didn't I? I told you exactly what happened, and you thought I was joking.
News flash, Declan—I wasn't joking.
I was telling the truth. And the funniest part?
The one person you should be apologizing to isn't me, but her.
How many times have I told you? Go apologize to Mom, not me.
How many times, Declan?
But instead of apologizing, you look her in the eye and threaten to destroy her. You tell her she has no choice but to obey you. Then, after all that, you turn around and come to me, asking for forgiveness?
Declan, I do not need your apologies.
The only person who deserves them is my mother.
Let that sink in.
I turned to leave, my hands clenched into fists, but Declan's voice stopped me.
"Tyler, please. Don't go," he pleaded, desperation thick in his voice.
I turned back, smirking. "Watch me, Declan."
I took a step forward, then paused. "When you're ready to apologize to the only woman you actually hurt—the woman whose mental health you shattered—then we can talk."
"But for now?"
I scoffed. "We have nothing to talk about."
His lips parted, like he wanted to argue, but I cut him off.
"Oh, but if you're really in the mood to talk, go find Mrs. Agnes. I'm sure she'll listen to you—especially if you slip her some extra cash."
I smirked. "That's how it works, right?"
Then I turned to Mrs. Agnes, my gaze darkening.
"And one more thing," I warned, my voice low. "Under no conditions should you ever come to my school again and call me out because of this man."
"I'll let it slide this time—I won't tell my mom—so she won't remove me from this school. But next time? There won't be any mercy."
I leveled a stare at both of them. "Take note, Mrs. Agnes. Because here you were, watching him beg for my forgiveness this morning—when I hadn't even forgiven him—and not even a few hours later, you were having a cozy little chat with my enemy."
I tilted my head. "Watch your back, Mrs. Agnes."
I scoffed. "In fact, both of you should."
I was about to walk out when Declan's voice stopped me again.
"Tyler, wait! Just...just give me a few minutes. Let me explain."
I exhaled sharply, already regretting stopping, but I turned to face him.
"Please," he begged. "I promise I won't disturb you again. I won't ask Mrs. Agnes to call you. I won't even come to your school anymore."
I rolled my eyes. "You don't have to tell me that, Declan. Because even if she does call me again, I won't come. So, take that off your list of pathetic apologies."
Declan nodded quickly, standing up, his movements restless.
"I—I didn't just come to apologize to you, Tyler. I came to ask for your help."
I narrowed my eyes. "Help?"
"Yes. I need you to talk to your mom. Please." His voice cracked. "She hates me, Tyler. You need to see the way she looks at me—it's like she wants me dead."
I let out a bitter chuckle. "And you're surprised? I mean, look at yourself."
He flinched, but I continued.
"Who wouldn't hate the person who abandoned her? Who suddenly waltzed back in after years, thinking he could take control of her life?"
"Who wouldn't?"
I shook my head. "Everyone would hate you, Declan. And guess what? You deserve it."
I took a step closer, my voice sharp. "Mom was even willing to give you a chance. But what did you do? You insulted her. You accused her. You threatened her."
"And now, suddenly, you want forgiveness?" I scoffed. "How exactly did you plan to get it?"
I shook my head, my voice flat. "Because the mom I know? She's never going to forgive you."
I met his eyes, my voice dropping. "And even if she does, trust me, it's going to take a very, very long time."
Declan swallowed hard, his shoulders slumping. "Please, Tyler. Help me. Let's go back to being the happy family we once were."
I blinked. Then, before I could stop myself, laughter ripped out of me.
I laughed so hard I nearly bent over, my chest shaking with the force of it.
"Oh my God, Declan. Did you actually say that out loud?" I wiped an imaginary tear from my eye.
"A happy family?" I scoffed. "We were never a happy family."
I leaned in. "I grew up believing you were a monster. And you know what? I wasn't wrong."
I stepped back, shaking my head. "So, spare me the fake family reunion talk."
Declan's lips trembled like he wanted to argue, but before he could speak, another voice cut in.
"Tyler, please."
I turned, my gaze locking onto Mrs. Agnes.
She had the nerve to look at me with sympathy. "Help Declan talk to your mom," she urged. "He's changed. He's trying to be a good father. Just give him a chance."
I stared at her, deadpan. "Who. Asked. You?"
Silence.
"Did I mention your name, Mrs. Agnes?" I asked, tilting my head. "Did I ask for your opinion?"
She opened her mouth, but I wasn't done.
"If you're so convinced that Declan is a 'changed man,' then why don't you marry him?" I suggested, my tone dripping with mock sincerity. "Since he's 'so perfect' now, he'd treat you well, right?"
"N-no, Tyler, that's not what I meant—"
"Oh, but it is, Mrs. Agnes," I cut her off. "You just can't help but stick your nose into things that aren't your business."
I exhaled sharply. That was when I realized what I had said.
Family.
I had just called Declan 'family.'
Ew.
I grimaced, shaking off the disgusting thought.
Declan did not deserve to be called family.
"I'm sorry if I upset you, Tyler," Mrs. Agnes said hesitantly. "But I was just saying what I noticed. Declan is a changed man."
I raised an eyebrow. "Oh, really?"
I smirked. "Then why don't you take him for yourself?"
I stepped closer, my voice sharp. "He's all yours."
Silence filled the air.
"Besides," I added, a mocking smile playing on my lips. "You don't have a husband. Yours dumped you years ago, didn't he?"
I shrugged. "So, wouldn't Declan be a perfect match for you?"

Mrs. Agnes gasped, eyes wide with shock.
I smirked. "Think about it."
Then I turned and walked out, leaving them both speechless.
