Holy Necromancer: Rebirth of the Strongest Mage-Chapter 1121: Right Time
"I truly hope you'll consider this carefully while you are here. I'll look forward to your answer, and I am certain you will make a wise decision. Don't be stubborn like your father, and look at the bigger picture."
Nysa waved her hand, and the door opened. Her intentions were clear. She had finished speaking, and he could leave.
Karyk didn't stay any longer than necessary. He turned and walked out of the hall, where the minister was waiting to escort him back.
After he stepped out, the door closed, and the hall returned to silence. A man appeared behind Nysa, his presence ghost-like.
"Weren't you planning to make him feel welcome and slowly lure him in?" he asked. "What I saw was anything but welcoming."
"I had wanted to welcome him like a friend, but his actions so far have made it quite obvious that he is very arrogant. The old approach won't work with him."
"Of course, he's arrogant. He has that man's blood running through his veins, after all." The man nodded. "If anything, I would have found it more suspicious if he weren't arrogant."
"What will you do if he doesn't agree?"
"That won't change anything. As I said, he can either be on our side or die with his father. The plan will not change. We might as well suffer more losses if it means taking out these uncertain variables."
"May I ask why you're in such a hurry? We have waited thousands of years, maintaining the status quo. Why do you want to break it so suddenly?"
"Because if we don't, then they will." The woman grimaced, handing a letter to the man. The letter contained information gathered by her sources, mentioning that all the Ancient Lords were meeting more often, for some unknown reason.
"Even now, they are having a secret meeting. Do you believe it has nothing to do with us? They are starting to show their intentions, and we can't pretend to be blind any longer."
"Is the Emperor really fine with this?" the man frowned.
"Do you think I could make such a decision without his permission?"
"In that case, when can I meet him?"
"The time will come when he wants to meet you." The woman stood up, giving no definitive answer. She disappeared, leaving the place.
The man was left behind in the silence, looking at the throne. He reached out his hand, and grabbed the throne which represented the authority and dignity of the Royal Family.
"Is my dear brother really fine with it? Why can't I get myself to believe that woman?" he mumbled as he walked around the throne, and sat on it.
"Is she really doing it because the others are moving in the shadows?" He folded the letter back, and placed it aside. "Or is it because my brother doesn't have any more time? Seclusion, huh. Only fools would believe that excuse."
He raised his head and closed his eyes, letting the throne embrace him. "I hope you idiots won't burn this Empire to the ground."
....
"This is the place where you would be staying. For your convenience, we made sure that the Angelic Clan was granted residence right next to yours."
The Minister brought Karyk to the Mansion that was right at the heart of the city, not far from the Royal Palace. If he was ro fly at his fastest Speed, he could reach the palace within twenty minutes.
"It is very convenient for sure." Karyk walked inside the mansion, welcomed by the lines of servants that were arranged for him.
Amongst the maids, there was not a single that was not an absolute beauty. He wasn't sure if it was just their courtesy, or if the Royal Family really thought that he was a teenager that needed these things.
"Young Lord." The maids greeted him, not forgetting to highlight their charms. However, a few of them were also shivering, as they had heard about the identity of this person, and the kind of stories that floated about him.
Some of them wanted to be chosen and get closer to the descendant of an Ancient Lord, while the others were scared to be selected. They prayed that Karyk wasn't interested in these kinds of things.
"You, you and you, follow me."
Karyk selected three girls, and told them to follow him. The other girls looked at them with jealousy as they followed the man into the bedroom.
"Young Lord, we..." One of the three girls stood in the back, almost on the verge of crying as the door closed. The other two smirked, and started taking off their clothes.
Karyk didn't glance at them, and snapped his fingers, casting an illusion on their mind. The three women walked over to the bed, and fell down, imagining things that he wanted to show them in their imagination.
Trapped in the illusion, they also started making strange yet loud noises that were heard by maids standing outside the room. The maids had their faces go red when hearing the noises, and rushed away.
Karyk cast a barrier around the room that made it impossible for anyone to see inside. The only thing that the barrier didn't stop was the sounds.
The maids that had rushed out, contacted the Minister and started giving him updates every ten minutes, about what Karyk was doing.
"Even if he is strong, he is still a young man after all." The Minister laughed, getting updates that Karyk had been in the bedroom for hours, doing the same thing.
After every few hours, the doors would close and women would walk out, their clothes messed up. More women would be invited in, and the same thing would follow.
After it happened a few times, the Minister also stopped keeping an eye on the mansion. He told the maids to keep him updated, only if there was some significant change in his behaviour.
At the same time, he returned to the Palace to inform the regent about the boy's behaviour.
"This should be the right time," Karyk stood before the window, and looked at the night sky. He opened the window.
