How to Have a Baby Secretly-Chapter 38
Of course, Kim Tae-yeol and Im Haewon weren’t the only ones present. A little further away, there were a few unfamiliar faces who hadn’t been seen at the market.
When Kim Tae-yeol greeted them, they looked curious for a moment but soon passed by without much interest. Kim Tae-yeol and Im Haewon kept a slight distance from the group and followed behind.
Im Haewon, who had become closer to Sunwoo with Kim Tae-yeol, gave a nod of acknowledgment. Sunwoo, unable to ignore it, simply nodded back.
“Hey, why are you ignoring my messages?”
Kim Tae-yeol poked Sunwoo’s arm. Ignoring? There had been several messages exchanged between them. Sunwoo shot a displeased look at Kim Tae-yeol, who was pretending to be friendly while poking him.
“You didn’t think we’d run into each other, did you? Huh? Look, here we are.”
“Well, if I knew this would happen, I wouldn’t have come this way.”
Sunwoo replied gruffly, and Kim Tae-yeol pouted, turning to look at Im Haewon standing next to him.
“I’ll talk to her for a moment.”
“Okay, I’ll head out first.”
Im Haewon nodded and gave Sunwoo another nod before walking toward the group that had already walked off.
The group not far away noticed Im Haewon and started talking to her. Among them, the man from the Sales Team 2 whom Sunwoo had briefly met at the market the day before turned his head. Their eyes were about to meet, so Sunwoo quickly shifted his gaze to Kim Tae-yeol.
“She’s pretty, right? Im Haewon, an Omega working in the Overseas Business Department with me.”
Kim Tae-yeol, also looking at his group, spoke.
“She’s a U-seong Omega, so her pheromones smell nice too. It’s a fresh, sweet floral scent, like spring flowers. Don’t you feel it?”
It was unclear whether Kim Tae-yeol was mocking Sunwoo for not being able to smell the pheromones or trying to boast about Im Haewon.
“There are only two Omegas among the new colleagues: her and one from the General Affairs team. You can tell they’re different kinds of Omegas. The General Affairs guy also smells flowery, but it’s more... well, how should I put it... a bit inferior?”
Calling someone else’s pheromones inferior was strange. While Sunwoo didn’t care about that, he disliked Kim Tae-yeol’s attitude of judging others so casually.
“I don’t know. As you know, I’m not good with pheromones. But, Kim Tae-yeol.”
“Hmm?”
“There’s no need to talk about this with me. If you’re going to continue, I’ll leave. I’m not interested.”
Sunwoo’s displeasure was evident as he tried to walk away, but Kim Tae-yeol quickly blocked him with his hand. He chuckled lightly.
“Hey, what’s with you? It’s been a while. I’m just making conversation. By the way, how long are you staying here?”
Sunwoo’s eyebrows twitched. Kim Tae-yeol’s laughter didn’t seem pleasant at all. It felt like he was playing a prank, but even that annoyed Sunwoo.
“Why?”
“Why? Since we ran into each other, let’s hang out. You came alone, right?”
He didn’t want to, but before he could say anything, Kim Tae-yeol grabbed his wrist.
“Let’s go. I was about to go for lunch. I’ll take you to a good sushi place.”
“No, I’m good.”
Sunwoo shook off Kim Tae-yeol’s grip.
“You? You don’t eat much, so you’re skinny. It’s hot today, you should eat properly.”
Even though Sunwoo repeatedly refused, Kim Tae-yeol insisted on pulling him along. Why were these guys so hard to deal with? Or was he just so easy to manipulate? Sunwoo figured he would have to be more forceful.
“Kim Tae-yeol, I said no.”
Sunwoo’s voice dropped low. Only then did Kim Tae-yeol stop walking and look back at him. Realizing Sunwoo was truly angry, Kim Tae-yeol muttered under his breath.
“I’m trying to be nice, why reject me so coldly?”
“I don’t eat sushi.”
More specifically, he couldn’t eat it because he was pregnant. He had recently learned from browsing the internet that he shouldn’t eat raw food.
“Huh? Don’t you like sushi?”
“Not really anymore.”
Sunwoo shook his wrist again to break free from Kim Tae-yeol’s grip. His hand easily slipped out, but unfortunately, the photo of him pulling Sunwoo’s wrist wasn’t captured by the guard’s camera from a distance.
The camera only caught the image of Kim Tae-yeol roughly pulling Sunwoo’s wrist. That photo was immediately sent to Kang Jinwook’s phone within a minute.
“What’s this?”
Kang Jinwook scowled as he nonchalantly looked at the phone while receiving Secretary Gwak’s report. Secretary Gwak flinched and cautiously looked at him.
“Uh... This is a list of people Executive Vice President Kang Jin-tae has been meeting recently. It seems like he’s trying to meet them in preparation for the upcoming year-end shareholders' meeting…”
Secretary Gwak had laid out documents and photos in front of Kang Jinwook. They contained information about Kang Jin-tae’s recent activities, which Secretary Gwak was presenting. He thought Kang Jinwook’s frustrated question was directed at him.
But contrary to Secretary Gwak’s assumption, Kang Jinwook was glaring at the photo sent from Jeju, as if he were about to tear it apart.

“Kim Tae-yeol and Choi Sunwoo, are they really just friends?”
“Pardon?”
Kang Jinwook placed his phone on the table with a thud. Secretary Gwak immediately checked the screen. The photo showed Kim Tae-yeol pulling Sunwoo’s wrist.
“Uhh… this…”
“Clear my schedule for today.”
“What?”
Secretary Gwak looked at him with a confused expression as he spoke. Kang Jinwook stood up from his chair, putting on his jacket.
“Executive Director, you have a board meeting at 5 PM. It’s something we can’t postpone.”
The board meeting couldn’t be delayed. Even Kang Jinwook knew that postponing it would cause major issues. The older, stubborn board members would likely call Chairman Kang and complain about his attitude, which could impact the upcoming shareholders' meeting.
“This shareholders' meeting isn’t happening right away. Change the date.”
Secretary Gwak tried to protest with his eyes, but Kang Jinwook was already leaving the office, unaware of the disagreement.
“Secretary Gwak, have the car ready downstairs.”
As Kang Jinwook walked out, he commanded. Secretary Gwak, knowing there was no stopping him, agreed with a resigned look on his face and immediately contacted the driver.
Kang Jinwook walked into the executive elevator and pressed the button for the basement floor. The elevator immediately descended.
The driver, who had already been informed, was waiting by the door.
Kang Jinwook didn’t wait for Secretary Gwak or the driver to open the door. He briskly got in and sat in the back seat, then gave a cold command.
“To the airport.”
The driver, slightly confused, glanced at Secretary Gwak. There had been no mention of any domestic or overseas trips during the morning schedule check.
The driver and Secretary Gwak exchanged a glance, and Secretary Gwak, with a bitter look, spoke.
“Let’s go to the airport.”
As Kang Jinwook’s car sped towards Gimpo Airport, Sunwoo had been dragged along by Kim Tae-yeol to a café.
Since Sunwoo had refused to eat lunch with him, Kim Tae-yeol insisted they at least have coffee together.
“Are you on vacation? Did you quit?”
Kim Tae-yeol had brought Sunwoo to the café where Sunwoo had previously enjoyed peach iced tea. Of course, there was a fresh, sweet peach iced tea in front of Sunwoo.
“I quit.”
Sunwoo took a sip of the iced tea and replied indifferently. Kim Tae-yeol’s eyes widened in surprise.
“Really? No wonder... I haven’t seen you around the office lately! I thought you took vacation while the manager went on a business trip to Turkmenistan.”
Kim Tae-yeol rambled on about his own news, which Sunwoo wasn’t particularly interested in.
“Hey! Why didn’t you tell me? So, you changed your phone?”
“Yeah, kind of.”
“See! That’s what it was! So, is it over with Executive Director Kang?”
Kim Tae-yeol continued asking prying questions. Sunwoo found it even more tiring since he already knew about the situation with Kang Jinwook.
Sunwoo hesitated before looking at Kim Tae-yeol. He had reviewed their messages and noticed the way they interacted, and it was clear Kim Tae-yeol and Subsoo were quite familiar with each other.
Kim Tae-yeol had likely forgotten what he had said before.
“Kim Tae-yeol.”
“Huh?”
“As I told you before, I have amnesia.”
Sunwoo reminded him that he didn’t know much about Kim Tae-yeol, so he was reminding him of his memory loss.
“Oh, right. But?”
Kim Tae-yeol nodded, seemingly unconcerned, and continued in his usual carefree manner. Sunwoo had felt that way before, but he had also noticed how Kim Tae-yeol had no problem inserting himself even in front of the cold and intimidating Kang Jinwook.
But Sunwoo had no intention of letting Kim Tae-yeol keep acting familiar with him.
“Kim Tae-yeol, honestly, it’s getting a bit uncomfortable how you’re acting so familiar.”
Sunwoo deliberately raised his tone. Kim Tae-yeol’s expression shifted slightly, looking somewhat surprised.
“From now on, please hold back.”
Without being bothered by Kim Tae-yeol’s reaction, Sunwoo finished saying what he needed to say.
“Wow... Sunwoo, you really have changed. It seems like your personality has changed a lot too.”
After showing a playful attitude, Kim Tae-yeol finally turned serious and straightened up.
Since they were supposed to be close friends, it made sense that drawing a line would lead to this reaction. But Sunwoo had no intention of letting Kim Tae-yeol push him around anymore.
“It can’t be helped. So, you should be careful too.”
“Yeah, sure. But what about Executive Director Kang?”
Even after Sunwoo had told him to stop acting so familiar and had set his boundaries, Kim Tae-yeol still brought up Kang Jinwook.
Sunwoo had a feeling that his carefree nature would make it impossible to get through to him.
“Nothing’s going on. It’s over.”
Sunwoo finally gave Kim Tae-yeol the answer he had been looking for. Immediately, Kim Tae-yeol’s eyes sparkled.
