I Am Tired Of Being A Hero-Chapter 232: Speculations Part 2
Chapter 232: Speculations Part 2
Ravi looked at Arlen who looked back at him. The mystery man beside Mary Taylor was looking more like a suspect with each passing moment.
"We have found evidence that Mary Taylor was indeed dating a man before her death. We went to some of the restaurants they had dined in and one of the waters was able to give us a physical description. He is about 5’10 and has a slender build. He is described as very handsome with brown hair and green eyes." Arlen said, summarizing their investigation this morning.
He wrote it down on the board and then continued, "Do not pay much mind to his hair and eyes, if this is a killer who approached Mary Taylor with the intention of killing her, he could have dyed his hair or worn contact lenses. Tomorrow morning, Officer Adams would be in charge of re-interviewing all the connections around Mary Taylor again, I don’t believe none of them have seen a man around her." He looked at Korra for her to continue as he drew a huge question mark on the face of the mystery man.
Korra nodded, "If his build is slender and he does not have much strength, it would make sense why he needed the drugs to control the victims. Two of the victims, Avery Hall and Riley Allen had a heavier dosage than others, Officer Brown did a preliminary investigation on the two victims yesterday and we learned that the two of them had been consistent with athletics when they were in high school. Hall played football and Allen was the captain of her school’s wrestling teams before she dropped out to take care of her sick father."
"He was really scouting them. Otherwise, where would he learn that kind of information."
"Downtown, everyone knows everyone. If he stayed around the club then he must have been the friendly kind that can get information easily. Once you are not seen as an outsider, you would be told everything that you want to know."
"So someone who can easily fit in, blend in." Ravi muttered and Arlen wrote it on the board.
Korra continued, "Most tranquilizers used in crime are tranquilizers for horses or dogs. This tranquilizer is different. It is tailored for humans, we tried to track it down and it is normally supplied to hospitals in Alstria. I suggest that tomorrow, we would start making calls to know if any of the hospitals reported a theft. As for the second drug, I believe it would be one of the keys in finding this killer."
Everyone sat up, focusing on her with rapt attention.
"The name of the drug is Gena, it is made by a company called Mira. It is an accelerated healing drug, mostly used in surgery. This kind of drug is tailored for trauma care, rapidly healing injuries and wounds, it is very efficient in tissue repair. It is not the kind of drug you can get on the street. For you to even have access to the drugs..."
"You must work in the hospital." Draco completed.
"If the drugs are missing. Then the hospital definitely kept a record of it."
"It is too late. We will head to the Davenport Hospital tomorrow." Even though he said it so lightly, everyone knew that it would not be so easy, the amount of people who were working in a hospital that would have access to drugs was not small and if the drugs had been stolen, the amount of people to investigate was too much.
The murder was very cruel and the report from the autopsy was bone chilling. However, the entire process of the crime was extremely meticulous and there were no fingerprints or loose ties left for the police to follow. Would such a person leave a trail in the hospital?
They were the police; their job was to investigate nevertheless.
After Korra finished speaking, the next person to report was Draco. He and Sarah had been in charge of following up on the red rose that was found in the victim’s stomach, "We traced the rose to Alberts and Co in Danshi, Alstria. The rose is called Exe..."
"Eximia."
"Right. Eximia, one is actually 50 dollars." He swallowed his comment that the murderer was busy spending Mary Taylor’s money, knowing that Arlen would not like that he had come to the conclusion without proper investigation.
"There are like three stores that carry it and all others are accounted for. Only Albert and Co had a delivery to a number that was not in use. According to the delivery boy, he was asked to bring it to an alley and leave it there. He did not see the person that ordered it and he was given a rather large tip." At this point, Draco swallowed, "The man ordered 25 roses."
There was a sudden silence in the room; the murderer was still planning to kill 4 more people.
"Officer Brown, did the owner of the store say anything about caring for the roses?"
Draco shook his head, "I did not ask."
"After this meeting, call and verify. Expensive plants like that have very particular conditions to keep them alive."
The meeting continued for thirty more minutes before they all left. An hour later, everyone started going home. Everyone but one person.
Ravi knocked and entered the office. Arlen was sitting on the office desk, looking at the white board in front of him.
"Ravi." He called to him when he saw him.
Ravi moved forward and stood next to him, staring at the board and the question marks around them.
"At least it is filling up. I can sense we are close." Arlen said and Ravi nodded.
"Arlen. Let’s go home."
Arlen thought about a similar white board in his house, it would still be the same thing, "I can work here better than at home. I can access the..."
"I don’t mean your house. Mine. We would take a bath and sleep...Just sleeping though. And tomorrow, we would wake up at 7, you would have some fruits and I would make breakfast. Sounds good?"
Arlen looked at him for a second and smiled lightly, nodding his head, "Okay."
