I Am Tired Of Being A Hero-Chapter 269: Malik’s memory
Chapter 269: Malik’s memory
What was going on? They were in the store shopping when Malik suddenly bent over with a groan.
Ravi dropped the navy-stripped shirt that he had been showing him and rushed over to him.
"Malik. Malik...What is it?" He raised his hand to stop Lana who had been lying on the chair watching a book while she claimed that she was watching them shop.
Malik groaned and reached out to hold Ravi’s trousers. His veins flexed as if he was in extreme pain.
"Ravi..." Lana muttered and Ravi nodded, he placed a hand on Malik’s shoulders as he directed his spiritual energy into Malik’s body. The energy had barely moved in when it backfired, flung back with such force that Ravi coughed out blood.
"Ravi!"
Malik had stopped groaning and turned to glance at Ravi. It was just a look and yet Ravi felt like he could not move. No, he should not move.
Those blank green eyes had turned into immeasurably deep, black vortexes, slowing spinning around. For a second, Ravi saw the heavens and the entire realms beneath it. They were completely pitch black as black mists rolled, and surged like tidewater.
Ghosts, spirits, tombs, and seas of red blood filled his vision; his ears were filled with the wails and howls of beings. They cried and they begged for mercy. They were begging and prostrating before someone.
King Yama. The First Judge of the Netherworld.
It was as if an endless number of knives had twisted into his brain, the pain making him long for death.
"Don’t look into his eyes."
Ravi repeated the words that Ayla had told you him to Lana. His voice was sharp, not allowing her to say a word of refusal.
Lana immediately lowered her eyes, for some reason, she felt so cold and scared, as if she was on a scale dangling from one side to another.
"Find him." The voice spoke. It was different from Malik and yet it was still the same. They both had that gentle and kind feature to them, and yet the words were sacred and inviolable. If you dare disobey them then even death would not be a reprieve for you.
Ravi bowed but before he could speak. Malik groaned again, holding his head.
Images flashed in his mind. He saw the most beautiful person that he had ever seen in his life. His features were delicate and gentle. He wore a set of silk white brocade robes inside, the outer shirt had blue lining around the wide sleeves.
Dark brown hair cascades down his back with two strands by the sides braided with a red coral bead hanging from the end. A silk black cloth was tied around his eyes and he held a long silver cane.
He was sitting on top of a boulder. It was a brown boulder and the moment that the image of the boulder came to his mind, Malik could feel a deep sense of longing. Pain and regret wrestled for his soul. Various images of him sitting on the boulder, lying on it. The man seemed to have an incredible amount of files to go through but his kind expression never changed.
He saw another image for the first time and his heart started pounding even faster. It was a man. The man was taller than the pale beauty, his body rippled with muscles as he moved. His doe brown eyes were so innocent that it made Malik swallow.
Yet there was a devoted and loyal expression on his face when he gazed at the slender man.
"Please...Please..."Sobs incessantly poured from the man’s lips, his body flushed and soaked with sweat. Honey-colored hands bound with a black, silk ribbon. The pale beauty chuckled, a wicked smirk playing along his lips, and his hands....
The soldier bowing and presenting him with a box, there was just a silk black ribbon in the box. Pain ripped through him when he saw the box.
The slender man stood in a huge palace, empty black vortex staring down the black silk ribbon in his hand.
He looked lost, confused as he stared at the ribbon.
Malik felt like the pain in his chest was carving itself deeper and deeper. He had always felt the first time he would ’see’ would be one he would never forget.
It would be a happy memory; he did not expect they would be accompanied by so much pain.
He reached out and touched his chest, he could feel the same pain, and emptiness the slender man in long robes was feeling. He gasped.
"Alvar."
Ravi registered the name immediately. He wanted to stay away from this immortal but seeing the raw pain on Malik’s face, he could not help but move.
Malik instantly reached out to hold his hand, he held it so tightly that Ravi felt like his bones might break at any minute.
The images that flashed in his mind, rescinded quickly but Malik moved, his mental energy snapping into focus as he began to scramble for bits and pieces of the memories that wanted to elude.
After a minute, he calmed down. When he opened his eyes, the familiar green eyes stared blankly at Ravi holding his pounding head.
"What happened?’ Malik felt like the first time he had awakened his ability, his mind so stimulated that he just wanted to explode.
Ravi looked at Malik cautiously; even that cold aura of the King Yama had completely disappeared.
"Well..."
Lana did not have the same worries that Ravi was having. She had been scared just now and she needed reassurance. She instantly hugged Malik.
"You..scared the shit of me right now."
Lana had always been cold and kept to herself. Seeing her seek a hug of her own accord, Malik knew it must have been so serious. He could feel the terror in the air.
He hugged her back and hesitated before patting her back the same way that he had seen Ravi do to Ash.
"It was like you were a whole different person. You were like...even more terrifying than you usually are. And then Ravi said that I should not look into your eyes. Right, why would you say?"
Ravi sighed and released the field that he had set up when Malik had fallen to the ground. "Because you would die."
