I Became My Healer Elf Character-Chapter 130: Earth
By the time Hikari and Kurayami appeared in the audience chamber, only a few seconds had passed. Everyone in the room stared at them as they made their entry.
Though, it was the rat goddess who looked the most confused. Her whiskers twitched along with her pointed nose. "I didn't expect you to come back in this form…"
Hikari raised an eyebrow at Vermille. "Yes, I presume you wanted me to turn to Despair?"
The rat clicked her tongue. "Even after receiving all of that girl's memories, you still haven't transformed? Even after I did all of those calculations?"
Amelia jumped from her seat, but Hikari stopped the woman with a wave of her hand.
The elf looked at the rat girl in disappointment. "I don't even understand why you would try to do that." Hikari looked around the table at all of the gods. "Everyone else is dismissed, except for this rat."
Sensing Hikari's building agitation, the gods left as quick as they came. The only ones to remain were Hikari's closest friends and the fairy goddess. Hikari stood next to Amelia and patted her shoulder.
Vermille looked at the two of them and slumped in her seat. "Even after all of this work that I put in, you would still choose Hope. What about my Hope, then?"
"What is your Hope?"
"I hoped for Despair. I wished that you would remake this rotten universe. Indeed! If you had just fallen into Despair, then everything would have been so much easier."
"What's the point in that? Even if your goal was realized, you wouldn't be able to watch it."
"No, but I would cease to exist along with everything. Isn't that the best kind of ending? Besides, there is a chance I would still live as a goddess and all."
Hikari chuckled. "You really think so? You thought your status as a goddess would allow you to continue on. What about the goddess you doomed then? What about Edith?"
"Ah, young Edith? How did you know that I'm the one that influenced her?"
The elf tilted her head towards Amelia. "This girl is the reason. Though, all of those memories coming back to me kind of sealed the deal. You are quite the dirty schemer."
"What can I say? That's my role as the Goddess of Trickery. I am set on this fate of scheming and playing tricks on people. Would you judge this poor soul? Oh creator?"
Hikari shrugged, much to the displeasure of the rat. "I'm not here to judge you. I will leave your fate in the hands of someone else who wants to do that."
A portal formed behind Hikari, and she turned towards Amelia. "You can do whatever you want. This is a matter for you to settle yourselves."
Amelia grinned, and a pink flash of magic power formed in her hands.
Hikari leapt through the portal just as a flash of pink light erupted. The screams of a dying rat echoed in that place, but for all of the girls, that was not their problem…

John Horford walked down a busy New York street. He held a stack of papers in his hands as he ran towards his destination. The man repeatedly looked down and checked his watch.
"Fuck, I'm going to be late!"
The man looked down at his wrinkled suit and dirty shoes. Though, it was this inattentiveness that was his downfall. He collided with someone, and the papers spilled out of his hands. Many of them flew into the street, and much more flew into a nearby alleyway.
John groaned. "Watch where you're goin', eh…"
Except when he looked up what he was met with was the most beautiful cosplayer he'd ever seen. Moreover, there wasn't just one of them. Several cosplayers were led by a gorgeous elven looking girl. The man was about to let whoever he'd ran into have an earful, but now he struggled to even speak.
The elf girl tilted her head at him curiously. All of the sudden, the papers had appeared in her hands, and she reached them back out towards him. "I'm sorry, did I make you drop these?"
John shook his head and took the papers from her. "N-not at all…"
"Well then," the woman said with a nod of her head. "Until we meet again."
"Y-yes…"
John took a while to collect himself, and when he did, he whipped around, trying to find the girl in the crowd. "Wait!"
Though, no matter how hard he looked, the man couldn't find her. Is it that hard to spot a cosplayer in New York?
The man turned with a sigh, noticing that his boots and the rest of his outfit were remarkably cleaner. John could hardly believe his eyes. Maybe...I won't be fired after all…

Hikari hummed and ducked into a coffee shop.
Kurayami shook her head and sighed at the elf. "Why did you help that man?"
"I simply used a cleaning spell. It's not really any of my business what happens to him, but I was feeling a little generous."
Syndra looked in awe around her. "Why did we end up in New York of all places? I thought you'd want to go to Japan."
Hikari shrugged. "This is where you're from, isn't it? I've never been to The Big Apple. I thought with a name like that, there might be good apples here."
The cat girl smiled wryly. "I hope you're not being serious…"
Mizuko looked around at the coffee shop in awe, looking like a typical tourist.
The vampire picked up a menu and pointed towards an item. "What does this say? I've never seen items like this before."
"You can't read the menu?"
"No, I can read it, but I don't know what a caramel is. Is that something sweet?"
Hikari tried remembering if there was anything from Gensuba resembling caramel. "There were similar plants inside of Mortia's home. I could smell the scent on one of the middle shelves. We probably had some back at our home too."
"Oh, is that the smell I can sense? Other than that, it smells really bad outdoors. Can there really be so many people in one city?"
"Yes," Hikari said. The elf turned and looked at Mortia, "and why did you decide to come with us? Shouldn't your goal be to watch over that place? What about Amelia?"
"She's fine. It looks like a weight has been lifted from her shoulders…" The goddess paused when she noticed a waitress standing nearby.
"Welcome to Creamy Coffee! How can I help you girls? By the way, I love the cosplay. You all look so cute!"
Hikari laughed awkwardly. "Thanks...Um, we've never actually been here, so we have no idea what to order. I'm actually here from Japan."
"Oh! A foreigner? And you came from Japan? Do you like anime? Your English is really good…" The waitress stopped herself and sighed. "I'm sorry. I couldn't help my excitement."
"Don't worry about it."
"Oh! If you need help ordering, then I personally recommend the Creamy Coffee special."
Hikari suddenly realized a glaring problem with this whole thing. She had no dollar bills anywhere on her person! No matter how much she searched her inventory, there was not a single one. Endless gold coins were abundant, but finding a bill was impossible.
The elf laughed awkwardly and put her hand up, stopping the waitress. "Actually, I just realized I left all of our money at the hotel, unless you take gold coins?"
"Haha, you're a funny one. How about this, you can give me some of these 'gold coins', and I will pay for your coffee? Sound good?"
Hikari nodded. "Are you sure? It might cause trouble for you."
"Don't worry! I'll be fine! Now, what would you like to have?"
"I guess we'll all take the Creamy Coffee Special…" The elf looked around, seeing that no one was opposed she finished. "Yeah, The Creamy Coffee Special."
Hikari produced several gold coins from Amelia's world and placed them into the waitress's hands. "Make sure you take good care of these."
The waitress tilted her head. She opened her hand and stared at the coins. It was clear that she had no idea what to make of them, nor did she understand the strange pink goddess's depiction. "I've never seen an anime like this. These coins feel like real gold."
"That's because they are."
The waitress chuckled awkwardly. "Don't pull my leg too hard, okay? Despite how I look, I'm still getting used to the customer service industry. Anyway, I should go give your order to the barista! Thanks!"
Syndra watched as the waitress ran off. The cat kin shook her head helplessly. "I can't believe you would do something so devious. That poor girl just received more money than she has ever held in her life. I bet with that sum she could buy a whole mansion in the countryside. And all of it for some coffee…"
Kurayami interrupted the cat, pointing outside. "Master…What are those things moving outside and beeping?"
"Those are cars...It looks like I will be needing to teach you all about common sense around here."
Ayase and Syndra both stared at Hikari.
The witch shook her head. "I don't think you've ever known a such thing as common sense."
Syndra nodded her assent, and the group around the table laughed as heat rushed into Hikari's face.
