Chapter 572 - 572 The Strange and Pitiful Girl Susan Storm, Johnny Storm Knows No Fear, A Big Misunderstanding and Lucifer Morningstar.
(Days Later)
A young man with white hair and a calm aura—a guy who seemed like the type to never bother anyone—walked among other students. He was dressed simply and modestly, yet his looks alone would definitely catch the attention of most women, not to mention his face, which could easily steal sighs. Strangely though, that wasn't the case. It was as if a mysterious spell floated around him, preventing people from noticing just how unique his presence was.
Allen walked across his university campus. He stopped momentarily to observe the buildings, finding it somewhat amusing; his life had unfolded in reverse. He'd held jobs of great responsibility and authority, and only now was he beginning this phase of his life.
"Hey, did you hear? Johnny Storm caused a scene in the cafeteria..."
"I think someone tried hitting on his sister right in front of him..."
"..." Allen blinked at the words of some nearby students but didn't pay much attention.
Empire State University (or ESU) was famous for being the place many brilliant young minds chose to attend. Located in New York, it kind of made sense why a genius like Peter Parker would pick it instead of heading to Massachusetts for MIT or Harvard... and well, because it seems like in Marvel, New York will always be the center of everything—good or bad.
Of course, Allen didn't know any of this. He simply picked the school because it was nearby. Gwen, MJ, and Felicia were also students here, but none of them were available at the moment, so Allen spent the day alone.
As Allen walked, he saw a football player throw another guy into a trash bin while his buddies laughed. Then he saw a girl mocking another girl with her clique, while a short, overweight guy held her purse.
"Animals..." Allen muttered. He thought he'd left that kind of environment behind, but apparently, this place also had its queens and bullies.
Allen ignored it all and kept walking. Maybe in the past, he would've taken precautions to avoid trouble, but he'd stopped thinking that way. Now, his main concern was just being a normal guy; not for himself, but because he wanted Gwen, MJ, and Felicia to have normal memories of him. Memories that didn't always revolve around danger or chaos.
With that in mind, Allen entered a building and then a classroom. The professor had already begun, so Allen tried not to disturb anything and slipped in quietly. The only problem was that this class seemed to be particularly popular, as there weren't any empty seats—except for a row where only one girl was sitting alone.
The girl in question was a stunning blonde with blue eyes; an almost hypnotic beauty. Still, it was strange how people treated her with... indifference. Fear? Dislike? Perhaps respect?
...
Sue Storm glanced at her phone discreetly. 'Victor hasn't shown up again... it's been three weeks. Maybe he's dead?'
Despite her thoughts, her expression showed little concern; almost boredom. She'd lost touch with yet another of her longtime friends, and her reaction remained empty... almost cold.
At that moment, someone sat beside her. She turned and saw some random guy appear out of nowhere. She felt curious. Was there still someone bold enough to try something with her?
The sounds of whispers and gasps didn't take long to follow. Some bastard even started recording and posting it to the campus forums. Sue lazily smiled. But while she didn't show it, she was genuinely surprised by the newcomer's boldness.
Allen, on the other hand, ignored everyone in the room, including the girl. He was Allen Walker. A man used to be seen by hundreds of millions. Why would the stares of thirty or forty people bother him?
Sue quickly lost interest once she saw Allen wasn't even looking at her. 'What a boring strategy...'
Some guys directly asked her out, and those who pretended not to care while giving subtle hints to catch her attention. Sue was tired of those games. Honestly, she preferred the former; at least she could reject them straight up.
Throughout class, Sue glanced at the guy next to her several times. It was strange, his white hair was rare. She'd only seen maybe five people in her life with that hair color.
She had to admit, even though plenty of guys had pretended to be uninterested in her—this was the first time she couldn't tell if someone was faking it.
'It almost feels like... he really isn't interested in me.'
She shook her head. She was getting narcissistic. She wasn't the only beautiful girl on campus—especially not among the freshmen.
Sue gave a slight smile as she looked at Allen from the corner of her eye. 'Maybe he just doesn't realize what it means to sit next to me...'
When the class ended, the mysterious boy stood up, leaving Susan stunned. He moved gracefully as he grabbed a book from the table. His movements didn't match his appearance—they radiated confidence and presence. It was strange she hadn't noticed until now.
Susan followed him with her eyes until he vanished through the door. She leaned against the desk for a moment, then stood with a serious, almost blank look. This didn't last long, though, and she headed to the cafeteria.
Once there, she grabbed a tray and joined the line. After serving herself food, she sat at a table, and immediately, the two girls and one guy sitting there stood up and left.
Susan was used to it and paid no attention. She looked at her phone again. Although now she looked lonely, she'd had a few friends over the years. One transferred schools in high school and never came back. Another was a genius who finished his Ph.D. before turning fifteen and dedicated his life to science. He was a bit crazy and unstable, Sue admitted, but he had been her friend.
The last one, "Victor," disappeared. He had always been cold like he was planning to take over the world or something... she was the only one who stayed.
She knew she was always surrounded by abnormal guys, but she didn't mind. The real issue was that, even now, she felt extremely detached from everyone. She had even started wondering if she had some kind of mental disorder...
*Clank*
The sound of a tray snapped her out of her thoughts. She froze again when she saw the same guy from earlier sitting at the table. Sure, he was at the other end—but still, he was at the same table.
...
Allen had arrived at the cafeteria after getting a message from Gwen saying she had to go home because her dad had a bad case of extreme diarrhea, and she had to take him to the hospital. Allen hoped it wouldn't be too embarrassing a task for Gwen.
MJ texted to say she'd be late because a teacher wanted to talk to her about using her phone in class. Allen felt a bit guilty; it was probably his fault, considering the redhead prioritized watching his live streams over paying attention.
Felicia, for her part, just didn't show up. Allen only hoped she wasn't getting arrested.
"Well," he grabbed a tray to get some food. It felt nostalgic, which was funny because, in local time, it hadn't been that long since he last did this.
"Mmm, time to check this place out..."
As usual, the tables were like their own social circles. Allen shook his head and went to a seemingly empty one. He couldn't help but smile at his luck. Everything was fine—until he noticed everyone staring at him...
'I thought our spell was perfect, Weddy...'
Wednesday – This is strange. People shouldn't be able to notice your presence or your face...
Kurumi – Ara Ara~ I guess even magic can fail sometimes, huh?
Wednesday – I see you're interested in meeting your creator...
As the girls argued, Allen started eating. Even if the spell had failed and his presence couldn't be hidden, no one should be able to figure out his secret identity.
2B – Master, that girl is looking at you again...
Albedo – Tsk, the second time she shows up. This is suspicious...
Allen, who had spent the day not paying attention to anyone, finally looked at the girl.
Inevitably their eyes met for a moment. He was surprised to have such a beauty so close without noticing before. As for the girl, she opened her eyes in disbelief, realizing that the guy was not feigning disinterest; it was truly the first time he had paid attention to her.
Susan smiled with a teasing look. For the first time, her bored gaze vanished. "Hey, handsome, you should be careful. It's dangerous to sit near me~"
Allen blinked before smirking with a confident, teasing tone.
"Oh, I appreciate the warning—but I can take care of myself."
Sue felt a jolt run through her... then laughed out loud.
Allen gave her a glance, noting her rather unusual reaction, and mentally categorized her as a "weird girl." Of course, Allen already had three girlfriends to deal with at this campus and wasn't looking for a fourth. So, he quietly finished his food and stood up to take his tray away.
"Wai—" Susan tried to say something but choked on her water and coughed a little. Allen set his tray down for a moment, walked behind Susan, and gave her a couple of light pats on the back.
"You okay?"
"...!" Susan opened her eyes wide in disbelief.
Allen figured this girl was kind of pitiful. Just look at her—sitting alone at a table where no one dared approach, and so unused to physical contact that she looked shocked just because someone showed her a little kindness.
'They're savages...'
Allen knew how nasty schools could be, no matter the education level, so he got irritated. He immediately categorized Susan as a bullied girl.
"Don't worry about their stares. They're just a bunch of assholes..." Allen said, thinking he was comforting Susan.
"...Huh?" Sue, who was just about to say something, opened her mouth like a fish, stunned to be treated like some lonely, bullied girl. Allen placed a hand on her shoulder, smiled at her, and walked away.
At that moment, a strange reaction rippled through the crowd. Everyone started saying odd comments and murmuring in surprise.
"That guy actually had the guts to flirt with Susan Storm..."
"This is gonna be good."
"What a shame. Poor dude has no idea what he's getting into..."
Hearing the voices around him, Allen realized his spell hadn't failed—what caught everyone's attention was the fact that he was sitting close to that girl. Allen glanced back at Sue, who was reaching her hand out. He wasn't a saint, but who would abandon a girl who was outcast by everyone?
Allen gave her a thumbs-up as a sign he'd be back. But just as he walked past the football team captain's table, the quarterback, a blond guy with a killer glare, extended his foot, expecting Allen to trip. Everyone thought it would be the beginning of Allen's miserable life. But Allen stepped right on the guy's foot, making him scream in pain.
Allen looked at him briefly. "Hey, did you just try to trip me?"
The question made perfect sense to Allen, but to everyone else, it was like a full-on insult and a spit in the face of the status quo. As the blond guy held his leg in pain, his buddies stood up threateningly—not just to defend their friend, but to reinforce who was in charge here.
"Ahem..."
A teacher looked sternly at the group. They clenched their fists but weren't crazy enough to risk their chance at the state championship.
"Don't talk nonsense... it was an accident," one of the football players tried to smooth things over.
"Oh, but to me, it really seemed like he was trying to trip me..."
Everyone gasped—even the teacher. It was common knowledge that the school had its own hierarchy. As long as you knew your place, you could live peacefully. But if you challenge the status quo, you better prepare for a miserable life.
The blond guy glanced at the teacher. If he were just a regular thug, maybe he wouldn't care about getting in trouble. But he was the quarterback; he had to keep it together in public.
"It wasn't my intention... I'm sorry," said Johnny Storm.
The crowd was stunned again. Allen started to feel like he was in a video game where most NPCs only knew how to act surprised.
"I forgive you because you look a bit stupid." He nodded, accepting the apology, and continued on his way.
"You!"
Susan Storm stayed in that position, then smiled in amusement. She knew her brother had a habit of making life hell for anyone who got near her. Due to some family issues, the Johnny Storm of this world was extremely protective of his sister. For him, seeing another idiot trying to take advantage of her was completely unacceptable.
"What an interesting guy," said Susan.
'I swear I'll make that bean-sprouting bastard pay for this...' thought Johnny.
Allen left the cafeteria...
...
Several classes went by, he shared one with MJ, and then they split up...
Allen ran into Susan again. She immediately noticed him and motioned for him to sit. Allen looked around; the place was crowded again. Except for the row around Susan, which seemed to have some kind of repulsion spell on it.
"Good morning..." Allen said in a calm tone.
"Hey," she replied with a faint smile.
Allen sat down and focused on the class while Susan stared at him with great interest—she even took a picture of him, thinking he wouldn't notice.
After class ended, she said goodbye while Allen watched her leave.
Rebecca – Haha, not even a spell can hide your Rizz~
Allen shook his head and got up to leave as well. He picked up MJ, and together they headed out...
...
Susan returned to her aunt's house. She wasn't home, but Susan didn't care. She went to her room, dropped her bag and keys, then loosened her skirt and let it fall to the floor. Then she sat at her desk.
Her gaze seemed calm and deep. She remained motionless like a doll without strings for almost ten minutes before slowly shifting her gaze to her phone. She picked it up and looked at the picture she had taken of Allen.
There wasn't a trace of emotion in her eyes besides interest, but it felt strange. The girl was beautiful enough to be a model, yet for some reason, she seemed completely disconnected.
Susan stayed silent, staring at the screen—thirty seconds... ten minutes... an hour...
Allen had no idea he had landed in a rather peculiar universe. In this world, Reed Richards was insane, Victor Von Doom was even more psychotic, Johnny was a bully, and Ben was missing. And Susan? This hardworking girl who was supposed to be a shining light for her and her orphaned brother... This girl, who right now—if it weren't for her beauty—would seem downright creepy... Now it was his problem.
...
"..." After a long while, Susan heard her brother arrive and snapped out of the trance. She turned on her PC, grabbed her phone, connected it, and began printing a hundred copies of Allen's photo.
The sound of the printer made her sleepy... she lay on her bed, and when she opened her eyes, her entire room was covered with images of Allen. Her expression was calm and normal as if there was nothing wrong with the situation. Susan heard her aunt come home, changed clothes, and went downstairs for dinner...
Her emotionless gaze had stared at Allen's face in that photo the entire time.
(A/N: With Reed Richards as crazy as a goat, Susan couldn't turn out normal.)

(DC Universe)
Inside a bar—or rather, deep within the cozy piano bar known as Lux—a man sat on a velvet chair while playing with a deck of cards.
"I've never liked the hypocrisy and prejudice toward demons. Sure, some of them deceive their contractors, but me? I personally honor every deal I make..."
The man's gaze drifted to a cage behind him, where a woman sat with a furious but clearly frightened expression.
"You tricked me!" she shouted but was ignored. She wore a Vegas magician assistant outfit—a look Allen knew well. She was Zatanna, the woman who had once made a contract with him but never used it.
The man looked at Zatanna coldly, and she flinched. Who was Zatanna? Only one of the most powerful sorceresses in the DC World... yet she couldn't stop trembling in front of this man.
"That's the problem. You think I need to deceive you to get what I want..."
The man stopped looking at her and resumed his solitaire game. "You asked me to release your father, and I did. If Lobo showed up in Hell and killed him, that's not my problem..."
"But I—"
"Just be quiet..." the man said, staring silently at the woman. "But there is one small problem; it seems you belong to someone else..."
Zatanna clutched her chest, feeling the contract she had with Allen tremble. She didn't doubt that this man could destroy it with ease. But just when she felt like her soul was about to be ripped apart, he stopped intimidating her.
"While I could tear that contract apart; regardless of whether it's backed by some 'System'—what would that say about the name Lucifer Morningstar?"
Lucifer placed the deck on the table, stood up, and walked toward the exit.
"I suppose I'll have to have a little chat with your Prince Charming... when he shows up in this world, of course..."
Lucifer closed the door behind him, a smile forming on his face. It sent a terrifying wave of dread through Zatanna, unlike anything she had ever felt before.
Please... For the love of everything... Don't come to this world, Allen!
