I Was a Loner, but My Class Got Summoned to Another World…-Chapter 353: Return to the Pearl Isles
Having gathered Regal, Kryst, and the unhatched egg—which was still feeding off darkness stones—Logan stood beside Lisa, Rubina, and the rest of the group who had chosen to teleport to the Pearl Isles.
Ren had opted to stay behind and continue training while they traveled ahead. He'd asked Logan to bring him along later, once Silvia warped back in.
Yui, on the other hand, seemed quiet. She didn't try to hide her disappointment—this would be the first time she'd be apart from her brother for a week or two, depending on how long the voyage took. Since it would be a lengthy sea journey, they decided against using any flying creatures. The risk of losing control or encountering storms wasn't worth it.
Logan, meanwhile, couldn't help but feel a flicker of excitement. He was eager to see what creatures the Earl would offer him this time. Rubina's father always had a keen eye for monsters and usually selected ones that would be useful for whatever lay ahead.
Once everyone was ready, Silvia activated her teleportation skill. As the spell circle enveloped them, she gave Logan a lingering look before the light consumed them. She wouldn't be joining them this time—there were still tasks waiting for her back in Rosethorn. Even though she had traveled with Logan through the electrical planes, the World Tree's domain, and the Light Temple's forest, she felt a twinge of sadness knowing she'd be away from him for the next two weeks.
Rubina, on the other hand, was clearly thrilled.
She'd been working tirelessly on expanding the new biomes, tailoring them for each species under Logan's care. But now—now she was back on the adventure, right where she wanted to be.
As soon as they arrived in the previously destroyed city, Logan immediately noticed signs of progress.
The reconstruction was underway—slowly but surely. Thanks to the efforts of his tamed warks, the rebuilding process was moving faster than expected. Alongside them, the basilisk teams and the mole colony—natural-born architects—were hard at work, their precision and speed unmatched.
Logan paused to greet a few of his warks. They barked and wagged their tails in recognition, clearly thriving in their roles. Food distribution was steady, and citizens were returning, putting the finishing touches on their homes and preparing to reclaim their lives.
A massive, reinforced wall now stood outside the city—strong enough to withstand even a thirty-meter tidal wave. It was a monumental defense, likely the best they could manage with current resources.
Still, Logan understood the reality.
Only about half the original population would return. The devastation and trauma left deep scars—some would choose to start fresh elsewhere, unwilling to face the memory of what was lost.
He couldn't blame them.
But he did make a quiet vow to himself.
He would work even harder to ensure such a tragedy never reached his own kingdom.
As they were getting closer to the harbor, Logan paused and signaled for the group behind him to take a break. He planned to speak with Victor Rosengard soon to find out what new creatures had been brought for him—but first, there was someone else who needed a bit of attention.
Regal.
The large spider stood still, looming beside him and drawing wary glances from nearby citizens. Though most had grown used to strange beasts under Logan's command, Regal's sheer presence and size still made people uneasy.
She didn't seem to notice—or care.
Instead, the Shadow Widow Spider was curiously scanning her surroundings. While she was no longer the small, excitable box-jumping spider she once was, Regal still had a deep fascination with the unknown. Her instincts to observe and question remained.
[Master, what is that water? It's… too much. You said we wouldn't swim.]
Her voice echoed through the Empathic Link, accompanied by the faint skittering of shadow spiders she had sent out to scout the area.
"That's the ocean," Logan replied, stepping closer and giving her leg a firm pat to reassure both her and the workers nearby. "We'll be riding on top of a boat—big enough for you to fit on, so don't worry. We leave later today, so feel free to keep exploring. Just be careful not to disturb the workers."
To help ease the tension, Rubina and Lisa followed his lead, each placing a hand on one of Regal's legs to show she wasn't dangerous.
That was all it took.
Soon, several children began to approach, emboldened by the sight. They started to play near her, giggling as the spider's shadow minions popped in and out of existence like harmless little imps.
Logan gave one final glance back before making his way toward the docks.
There, waiting for him, were three familiar figures—Ms. Claire, Lady Elara, and Victor Rosengard—each staring out over the sea as the waves crashed softly against the shoreline.
"Hey, you're finally here. We've got the boats ready—I decided to bring three, just in case," Lady Elara said, gesturing toward the harbor. She pointed first to two smaller vessels docked to the side. "Those two are for the naval units. They'll scout ahead and flank in case danger approaches, we haven't visited that section of the sea for a long time so many large predators might still be in those seas."
Then, her hand shifted toward the massive ship anchored at the center of the port—sleek, reinforced, and large enough to carry beasts as well as supplies.
"And that one's for you and the main crew your majesty Logan. Just big enough to hold your creatures… I hope."
"Should be a good size. I won't be bringing many this time," Logan said with a nod, his eyes scanning the deck of the main vessel.
He turned toward Victor, who was already smiling—clearly waiting for the inevitable questions.
"I guess you want to know what I brought," Victor said, chuckling. "Relax—we'll need to get a bit closer to the water's edge for you to see them properly."
He motioned for Logan to follow, his steps light as they approached the far side of the bridge where the sea shimmered in the morning light.
"I think both creatures will serve your needs well," Victor continued. "Since you'll be out at sea, it's only natural to have beasts that can fight in or around the water. These two were chosen with that in mind."
Logan's curiosity spiked as they neared the edge—waves gently lapping below, hiding whatever surprise Victor had in store.
