Chapter 468

Mu Mingtang was startled. She immediately stepped back and subconsciously covered her chest with her hands, “Why is it you?”

Xie Xuanchen saw her reaction and smiled, “Why can’t it be me?”

Mu Mingtang realised that the water was clear today, which meant that Xie Xuanchen could see below the water. Her face instantly turned red and she hurriedly grabbed a handful of petals and threw them into the water. The petals swayed up and down with the waves in the water, creating a scene of mystery and allure.

Ambiguity and faint visibility was actually the most seductive to him, though.

Xie Xuanchen’s sight was blocked by the petals as he slowly stepped forward with a smile. The water in the bathtub had just reached Mu Mingtang’s chest. The water swayed and the waves carried the red petals that drifted around her chest. The sight before him made him yearn to stop the water motion, willing it to stop at one spot.

Mu Mingtang was extremely disturbed by his aggressive gaze. She had leaned her back on the tub and tried to stay as far away from Xie Xuanchen as possible. She noticed that he was looking at a certain position on her body and immediately pulled her wet hair to her chest to cover whatever was beneath the water.

With her wet hair sticking to her skin, it created enchanting swirls that tempted him. The raven black contrasted with the soft and pale skin it laid itself on, which made the overall picture stunningly gorgeous.

Xie Xuanchen felt that his eyes were greatly satisfied. However, he was no longer content with just watching. He walked slowly towards her and placed his hands on the edge of the tub before asking with a smile, “Tangtang, did you miss me after I left?”

Mu Mingtang huddled herself tightly against one spot. Because she had no clothes on, she replied, “No…”

Her voice was weak as if she was being bullied.

Seeing her reaction, Xie Xuanchen could’t help but ask with a smirk, “Really?”

The next day.

The Senior Governor’s wife learned that King An had emerged victorious in the battle, so she brought her daughter over to congratulate Mu Mingtang. Unexpectedly, when she arrived at the door, the servant hesitated and refused, “Her Highness is not feeling well today and will not be seeing guests.”

Feeling unwell? Madam Senior Governor was startled for a moment. However, she thought back to the empty main seat at yesterday’s celebration banquet. After the army entered the city, King An went back to his house directly.

She understood the meaning and took her daughter away thoughtfully, “Since the Princess is unwell, I won’t disturb you. I hope Her Highness has a good rest and recovers soon.”

Mu Mingtang was very depressed when he heard Madam Senior Governor’s message before leaving. She wanted to recover as well, but she had to first be able to have a good rest.
