Williams Family’s Eldest Daughter, Alicia (Age: 16)

After making sure that we had Maddie, we headed back to the castle.

Leon, Victor, and Duke-sama got on their horses…and for some reason I was riding Duke-sama’s horse instead of Rai.

It was not because I wanted to, but because Duke-sama forced me to ride with him. I didn’t have time to say no before I found myself riding with him.

…It was rare for Duke-sama to be this possessive.

I wondered if Duelkis Kingdom was confident that I would not be taken by another man. I was the unlikable one, wasn’t I?

Leon doesn’t seem to care about us, but Victor has been staring at us for a while now.

Maybe he was trying to tell us not to make out in a place like this. Or was it hostility towards Duke-sama’s sudden appearance?

I had moved away from Duke-sama to keep my heart from pounding so loudly when he suddenly wraps his arm around my stomach and pulls me back.

“Sit closer.”

The sweet words almost melted my brain.

My heart was racing faster. There was no way Duke-sama could have missed it. I desperately tried to calm myself down.

It had been so long since I had seen him that I had lost my immunity to Duke-sama.

…Oh, calm down, my heart.

“I don’t think the kid’s gonna get hurt even if you drop him, though.”

Victor said the words roughly, his face twisted. 𝐟𝘳𝐞ℯ𝚠e𝑏𝒏𝑜𝙫𝘦𝙡. c𝑜𝐦

I glared at him and tried to respond, “Shut up”, but Duke-sama spoke first.

“I just don’t want to put even a scratch on the woman I love.”

“…I hope you’re not simply trying to make that woman rely on you.”

“With Alicia as a partner, I don’t think she’d let herself rely on me even if I wanted to.”

“What do you even see in that brat to say that?”

From my position, I couldn’t see Duke-sama’s expression.

Victor muttered, “This is not funny”, and looked away from us.

I was sure the usual Victor would be arguing more…. I wondered if he had used up all his energy fighting that huge boar.

I remember the boar and let out an unintentional “ah”.

“What’s wrong?”

“What’s wrong?”

Duke-sama and Leon responded to my mutterings.

“That boar could have been cooked, right?”

“Is the Master really a noble?”

Leon laughed softly at my serious expression.

Ah, this was the reaction of a man who was popular with the ladies. I fear for his future.

“Shall we go back to get it?”

I shook my head as hard as I could at Duke-sama’s words. If I had nodded my head, Duke-sama would have taken the boar with ease.

I wanted a taste of it, but I didn’t want to go all the way back to that cliff. I didn’t have much strength or magical power left.

…But I was certain that the boar would have had the tastiest meat with the toughest flesh.

After being rocked by the horse for a while, I was struck with sleepiness. I couldn’t keep my eyes open. My eyelids were slowly closing.

Was it because I used too much magic power all at once? Perhaps the repercussions of that were just now starting to hit me.

Before I knew it, I had fallen asleep, leaning against Duke-sama’s body.
