Ditching Little Xyla years ago was something Cassius had been feeling a bit bad about, so he sincerely apologized for his behavior—a subtle gesture that warmed both Xyla and her father up to him.

Of course, more than that, the Chieftain respected his strength.

Weakling was not weak anymore! ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

Who would've thought!?

And apparently, Weakling also met the Rainbow Serpent, the Guardian Deity of their village—

Wait, what!??

"The Guardian Deity!!? Where!??" The Chieftain started to freak out, no longer possessing the fierce, stone-faced demeanor from a few minutes ago. "I wish to pay penances!!"

"Right here."

"Where!??"

"Look down," Luma replied with a mildly annoyed tone.

"Hmm? Hmm!?" The Chieftain's eyes bulged out of his head as he stared at the woman with multi-colored hair standing a couple of heads below him. "The Guardian Deity!? You're actually the Guardian Deity!??"

"Who else would I be?" Luma questioned as she sent out a trace amount of her unique aura signature to prove her identity. "See?"

Everyone's eyes widened. Then they all hit the ground with thuds, bowing before her while loudly giving praise.

Xyla was the only one not bowing. While sitting on Cassius's thigh, she looked up at him.

Poking his cheeks, she whispered, "Why they bowing to pretty friend of yours…? Is it because she's so pretty…?"

Cassius found this a little funny, but received a scary glare from his Master as soon as he exhibited signs of chuckling.

Coughing lightly, he explained the situation to her. In response, he received awe and claps, whereas Luma was forced to endure the sparkles in Xyla's eyes as she stared at her with a child-like intensity.

After some more bowing and explaining, Cassius asked for a map or anything else the villagers had of the surroundings. And though they had nothing too advanced, it was enough to give him a decent layout of the land, which he thanked them for.

He and Luma then bid farewell to the villagers of Bonecliff Village. Xyla appeared particularly saddened, asking time and time again why he couldn't just stay and become her Weakling again. To which he responded patiently that he was no longer weak, and that he had to go out questing.

Cassius figured an explanation like this one would be the easiest for a little girl to understand—and it was.

She still cried while watching his figure recede further into the background, but he knew that with her tenacious spirit, she'd surely get over it.

In time, all healed.

Cassius quite liked this saying. And it lingered in the back of his mind as he and Luma marched away from Bonecliff Village, eventually leaving it as a tiny dot in the backdrop.

"Where to first, Disciple of mine?"

After a moment—

"To the North," said Cassius, already walking in that direction. "I hear there's a Kingdom on the verge of collapse that way. And you did say that we have to search for those 'Body Source Crystals' in high-level places. What's higher in level than a Kingdom?"

Luma stared at the expression he was making, becoming a bit dazed by that fiery glow burning brightly within his insatiable blue globes.

"Very well then," Luma said with a defeated smile. "Let's get a move-on then. All those years ago, I chose this location because it was remote and primitive, but the world is ever-changing, and now we have to travel a very long distance because of it."

Cassius smirked. "All I have is time, Dear Master."

With that, the Master-Disciple duo trekked through forests and mountainscapes, hills and pits of fire, lakes and seas.

For years, they were on the move, both constantly improving their strength through Body Refinement and natural environmental resources.

— An Undesignated amount of time later, within the Kingdom of Uguru —

"7th Princess! What are you doing!?"

The panicked shouts of a guard rang out through a castle's backyard as he and several other similarly armored guards chased after a young woman with long black hair. She looked to be around 18–19 years old, had crystal-clear blue eyes, and a petite yet filled-out figure that jiggled and swayed as she clumsily ran away from the guards.

'I can't quit halfway this time!'.the pretty young woman declared. 'I'll run as fast and as far as I can, and never look back!'

"7th Princess—!"

The shouts of the guards grew fainter as the young woman gained more and more distance on them. She was already hundreds of meters into the forest outside the castle by the time they even reached the periphery, which forced a small vibrant smile on her earnestly cute face.

After some minutes, she stopped to catch her breath. Assuming that she'd lost them, she sat herself down on a medium-sized boulder by a flowing stream.

That was when a complicated expression formed.

"You've come this far, May," she smacked her cheeks to clear her thoughts. "You can't be getting cold feet now. You have to escape if you want to decide your own fate!"

She was set to marry an Old Lord from a neighboring Kingdom whom she'd never even met or seen the face of. But from circulated rumors among the young ladies of the Capital, she knew this old man was a lecherous bastard who preyed on any girl or woman who caught his eye.

The law enforcers could do nothing about him because of his immense wealth and status, so he was free to continue committing heinous crimes.

And because she was a royal princess, May had an obligation to do what her Lord Father commanded of her. This meant that she had no choice but to marry that scummy bastard…

With her small, powdery-white fists tightly clenched into balls, May's gaze turned determined. And with a start, she rose from the boulder—only to realize that a bunch of colorful birds had secretly perched themselves in her hair and on her body.

"Chirp, chirp!"

Her eyes softened a little bit as she pet the blue bird doing a dancy dance on her right shoulder.

"Animals have always been attracted to me for some reason," May mused with a very soothing voice. "Mother used to always say that it was because they thought I was one of their own…"

"Mother…" her voice saddened.

Silence…
