Chapter 1468: Learning from the enemies

"As expected, the first skills are the most important and the only ones related to the creation of matter," Rain thought.

Ateros certainly wasn’t an ordinary machine god... that was probably why the dragon god chose him as a target. Perhaps the fight would have been pretty easy, but there was no point in worrying about that.

The skill of Energy Absorption leveled up.

The skill Energy Conversion Leveled up.

The energy path leveled up.

The energy path had reached level fifty already, thanks to the training that Rain did, but he only had the first three skills, so there wasn’t much that he could do about that... he was getting the points of each level up, at least. He wondered what he could do about that, but doing the experiments that the machine gods did to obtain the same result was probably impossible.

"You should take a short break, at least," Elisabetha said. "Even I am starting to feel uncomfortable here, and I don’t have any flesh. You are repairing yourself fast enough, but that doesn’t mean that things are fine."

"I can take this a little longer... if I can’t endure at least this much, I won’t have any chances against the dragon god," Rain said.

The memory of his defeat at the hands of the dragon god lingered in Rain’s mind like a lingering shadow, a constant reminder of the one adversary who had managed to best him in battle. For all intents and purposes, he should have perished in that encounter and his life snuffed out in a blaze of fury. But against all odds, he had survived, clinging to life by the slimmest of margins.

The desire for revenge burned fiercely within Rain’s heart, a fierce determination to reclaim his honor and settle the score with the one who had brought him to the brink of death. The dragon god’s victory had not only dealt a blow to Rain’s pride but had also altered the course of his life forever, leaving scars both physical and emotional that would never fully heal.

And so, as he prepared for his rematch against his foe, Rain’s resolve remained unshaken. For Rain, it wasn’t just a matter of pride or personal vendetta—it was a chance to reclaim control over his own destiny, to prove to himself and to the world that he was not so easily defeated. And as he squared off against the dragon god once more, he vowed to emerge victorious, no matter the cost.

"At least I am certain that once all those guys are gone, I will probably live in peace... I already had enough emotion for two lifetimes," Rain thought.

In the end, Rain managed to endure that whole thing for another day... when it was over, he returned to his pocket dimension, and while his body was cooling down, it emitted steam for quite a while.

Lvl 50: Mana Fusion - Integration of mana-infused materials with living organisms, granting them symbiotic benefits such as enhanced abilities or regenerative properties. Increases efficiency by ten percent per level.

Lvl 55: Mana Amplification - Augments the potency and scope of mana-infused materials, magnifying their effects and capabilities beyond conventional limits. Increases efficiency by ten percent per level.

"I am not fast enough, I won’t master the entire path in one week at this rate," Rain thought. "I need something more..."

Rain looked around and then saw the former lords... they could become mana batteries for him, but since they were behaving and being useful, he couldn’t do that. For the better or for the worse, Rain had a big heart for those who fought alongside him.

The first idea that Rain had was to get closer to the sun, then he would be able to absorb more energy, but then he would spend more mana healing himself... it was a troublesome vicious cycle.

Rain considered using his doppelgangers, but they couldn’t use so many skills at the same time. In the end, Rain recalled that thing where they destroyed several space stations... the energy web that was used to absorb the heat from the closest sun. Perhaps Rain could do something like that... a tool that would avoid him being burned alive.

Creating artifacts was easy with the Matter weave Path now... so Rain decided to move away a fair bit from the sun, and then he began to transform his mana into solar panels. They looked like solar panels, but they were just another relic that had the information of Energy Absorption. Rain wished that he could make it convert mana as well, but it wasn’t possible... that kind of skill truly needed a conductor like Rain. When it comes to that kind of skill, an artifact couldn’t do several types of those things by itself... reality wasn’t that convenient. At least for now... things might change once that path reaches level one hundred.

Rain also made some batteries and soon they began to charge pretty fast... for each solar panel, it could recharge a battery in around six hours. Rain used quite a bit of mana to make all of that, but all that mana should be recovered in a day. All in all, if he keeps going, he will be able to triplicate the energy Absorption by two hundred percent in one week, and he won’t have to feel like a barbecue.

"If I double it, I should be able to pull it off," Rain thought. "After mastering the path, I should increase this further to have more access to energy."

Rain wanted also to make the process automatic. He only wanted to get the batteries and convert the energy... the doppelgangers could do that for him, so it would be fine.

"I bet I can do something else to make things even more efficient instead of just creating more solar panels," Rain thought and then checked the paths available. "It is time to check and find the true potential of the low-level skills... or at least combine them to make some decent artifacts."
