Chapter 1539: The next level

"Surprise..." Rain whispered behind Lonos.

In the next moment, Rain kicked the right side of Lonos and made him groan in pain... when he stopped moving, Lonos began to shake. It seemed like the attacks hurt him a lot, but soon Rain saw his aura changing and then confirmed that it wasn’t the case.

"I don’t care anymore... you will die in one way or the other. Do you think that you can contain my power? Just try it."

As Lonos turned, a second aura emerged beside him, identical in every aspect to the overseer himself. The air crackled with an overwhelming surge of energy, so potent that it seemed to still the very relics that had once weakened with power. With a commanding presence that dwarfed all else, Lonos exuded an aura of absolute control over the aspect of time.

In the wake of his arrival, the fabric of reality seemed to bend to his will, and the flow of time itself bowed in submission. With each movement, he wielded the temporal energies with unparalleled finesse, a testament to his complete dominion over this fundamental force of the universe.

As Lonos gazed upon this manifestation of his power, a sense of triumph washed over him. With his mastery of time fully restored, he stood unchallenged, a formidable force to be reckoned with. And in that moment, it became clear that no one, not even Rain, could hope to defy the overseer’s authority and emerge victorious.

In the next moment, Lonos used Instantaneous Strike on Rain, and then he fell backward as his face was almost smashed... he blinked on the ground in shock while blood was coming from his mouth and nose. Lonos smiled while watching that and then bombarded him nonstop from all directions.

The sound of Rain’s bones cracking echoed in the area, but soon, it stopped since he didn’t have any more parts that could break. His body looked like a mess, and he was quickly turning purple all over... but before that could happen, his body began to heal, and Rain began to get up.

However, as soon as Rain put his hands on the ground to support himself, Lonos used Beyond Time Strike. His face was smashed once again and Rain had bis back against the ground... When Rain tried to get up, Lonos used the same thing time and time again to stop him. He was enjoying that very much...

Despite that, Lonos decided to complete crush Rain’s head in order to stop him from trying to get up... he wanted to crush him through and through like a worm on the ground. With that in mind Lonos used a mix of Beyond Time Strike and Instantaneous Strike to hit Rain with invisible hits on his face time and time again until he stopped moving and his head had been almost split open.

"You truly look like a cockroach now."

Rain was sprawled on the ground, his form obscured by a shroud of blood that showed the ferocity of the attack. Every inch of his battered body spoke of the relentless onslaught he had endured, yet even in his state of near-collapse, the resilience of his spirit shone through.

Despite the grievous wounds that marred his flesh, Rain’s body continued to pulse with the glimmer of regeneration, a testament to his skills and determination to defy defeat. Yet, as Lonos surveyed the scene before him, he knew that mere physical pain would not be enough to stop his adversary.

Lonos considered his options, recognizing that he could only halt Rain’s regeneration through the same method that had proven effective before. However, a mischievous glint danced in his eyes as he contemplated an alternative course of action, one that promised a far more interesting path.

At that moment, Lonos resolved to shatter not just Rain’s body but his very will. For what greater triumph could there be than breaking the spirit of one who had dared to challenge the might of the machine gods? With a wicked grin, Lonos embraced the prospect of a more exhilarating experiment, one that would test not just Rain’s strength but the very depths of his resolve.

"I shall crush him to the point that it will take a while for him to regenerate, then I will use this chance to destroy this dimension and then help Fortus."

Using Charged Temporal Strike would give Rain the chance to escape with another part of his body, so Lonos didn’t need to use it. At the same time, keeping him unconscious will prevent him from using Astral projection and escape for another body... Lonos imagined that this kind of thing was what Rain would have as a countermeasure...

After using the combination of Instantaneous Strike and Beyond Time Strike, Lonos crushed Rain’s entire body... he looked like he had been smashed by a giant meteor, and he almost had become a two-dimensional body.

Without hesitation, Lonos turned around and attacked the mechanical statues from a distance... they were completely shattered, and then the dimension began to crack. However, he soon felt the knowledge of the machine gods being gathered on Rain again...

"Just how much far ahead could he have planned? Nevertheless, he won’t be able to contain my power anymore."

Lonos used his control over time to speed up the flow of time in the dimension in order to make it collapse since it would make it consume too much energy to sustain... like marbles of glass, the entire place collapsed.

"Now then..."

"Congratulations on forcing me to use the level two of my strategy."

Lonos opened his eyes widely when he heard that voice and then turned around only to see Rain’s head healed... his body was still a mess, so it looked like he focused his energy to heal only his head. When Lonos was about to smash his head once again... he suddenly stopped when he felt Rain’s power increasing and the aspect of time growing stronger on him too...
