"Is this the legendary incarnation of Tamamo-no-Mae?" Dr. Agasa stared at the cursed spirit behind Geto Suguru, eyes wide in astonishment.

"Dr. Agasa, how do you know this is the incarnation of Tamamo-no-Mae?" Conan tilted his head suspiciously.

"Oh!" Dr. Agasa patted Conan's head and said, "It's simple! She looks exactly like the one in the picture!"

He then fumbled with his phone for a moment before finally pulling up an image from an electronic magazine.

Conan glanced at the obviously abstract illustration and rolled his eyes. "Doctor, you can recognize her from this?"

"Huh?"

Kimura Watanabe ignored the conversation, uninterested in whether the cursed spirit behind Geto Suguru was Tamamo-no-Mae. He frowned, observing the shifting scenery around them, then pointed at Geto Suguru and demanded, "You didn't activate a domain, so why did the environment change?"

Geto Suguru snorted coldly and didn't answer. Instead, the black crack behind him widened, and a giant catfish swam out. The cursed energy fluctuations were so intense that even the crack itself distorted slightly. Kimura Watanabe and Hamasaki Daisuke looked visibly shaken.

This was at least a first-grade cursed spirit.

As two quasi-first-grade curse users, they hadn't expected that the 17-year-old black-haired, violet-eyed boy before them could wield such power. They had severely underestimated their opponent.

Before they could react further, a large black hole suddenly expanded beneath their feet. The void grew rapidly, reaching them before they could escape.

Panic set in. Kimura Watanabe and Hamasaki Daisuke turned and ran, heedless of any obstacles ahead.

But the hole spread far faster than they could flee. In mere moments, the ground beneath them disappeared, and they plunged into nothingness. A sharp, piercing whine filled their ears, and an intense headache struck them as they fell.

"What's happening to them?" Dr. Agasa, unfazed by the enormous catfish, glanced at the two writhing men on the ground and then turned to Geto Suguru for answers.

Geto Suguru knew exactly what had happened. He had used Tamamo-no-Mae's illusion ability to disorient the two men, then unleashed the earthquake catfish to deliver a mental shock while they were vulnerable.

But he also knew that Kimura Watanabe and Hamasaki Daisuke would soon realize they were still within Kimura's domain. When that happened, Geto Suguru wasn't confident he could take on two quasi-first-grade sorcerers at the same time within enemy territory.

There was no time to explain.

Acting on instinct, he grabbed Conan and Dr. Agasa. "We need to go—now! Once they recover, I won't be able to fight them both at the same time!"

"Wait—does that mean we're still inside that guy's domain?" Conan asked as they ran. "But this isn't Dr. Agasa's house!"

"It's an illusion created by Tamamo-no-Mae," Geto Suguru explained, dragging along a wheezing Dr. Agasa. "Her power won't last long in their domain."

"Young man, I'm over fifty! Let me catch my breath!" Dr. Agasa gasped, struggling to keep up.

"Doctor, you really need more exercise," Conan remarked, unsympathetic.

"Dr. Agasa," Geto Suguru cut in, "we entered your house from here, but now there's just a white wall. Why?"

Dr. Agasa blinked in confusion. "White wall? I see an open field."

Geto Suguru realized that to Conan and Dr. Agasa, they were still in the illusion of the Heian-era mansion.

"What you're seeing is Tamamo-no-Mae's illusion," he clarified. "Kimura Watanabe's domain is a replica of your house. If we leave it, we should be able to escape his control. Doctor, I'm standing in an empty ten-square-meter room."

Dr. Agasa pondered for a moment. "Is there a bookshelf?"

"Yes."

"Ah! I know!" Dr. Agasa smacked his forehead. "I triggered a hidden mechanism when I saw those couriers."

"How do we open it?" Geto Suguru pressed.

"Check the third shelf—there should be a blue English book."

Geto Suguru found the book and pulled it, only to hear a click followed by something heavy dropping right where he had been standing moments ago.

"That's not an exit!" he snapped, glaring at the bewildered Dr. Agasa.

"Ahaha... sorry, wrong one!" The doctor scratched his head sheepishly. "Try the fifth—no, the sixth shelf!"

At that moment, the illusion around them flickered. Tamamo-no-Mae's power was fading.

Gritting his teeth, Geto Suguru yanked the blue book on the sixth shelf.

Rumble—

The bookshelf slid aside, revealing a hidden door. Without hesitation, Geto Suguru pulled Dr. Agasa through it, with Conan close behind.

After several quick turns, they finally stepped out of the house's main entrance.

As soon as Conan crossed the threshold, dizziness washed over him. He instinctively grabbed a nearby wooden handrail.

When he opened his eyes again, he was back in Dr. Agasa's lab. The "wooden handrail" was, in fact, the backrest of a chair.

Blinking, Conan quickly pieced together what had happened. "We escaped the domain?"

"Welcome back, everyone!" Gojo Satoru greeted them lazily from a nearby table, munching on a small cake. His blindfold was off, revealing his striking pale blue eyes. He grinned. "Too bad the two curse users got away."

Geto Suguru narrowed his eyes.

Gojo Satoru had easily escaped Hamasaki's domain. There was no way two quasi-first-grade sorcerers could have eluded his Six Eyes.

"Oh well." Gojo stood up, gesturing at two unconscious men in courier uniforms sprawled on the floor. "Doctor, you can turn these guys over to Officer Megure for trespassing. And by the way, you might want to lower the dosage on those anesthetic needles—it'll be hours before they wake up."
