Chapter 21 -21: Stroke the ‘Cat
“Commander Ebute.” Muria put down his foot, shouting out to the cloud giant leader not far away.
“Your Highness Muria.” The towering Giant, holding his magic staff swiftly opened the bush in front of him and approached the trembling brutal bear, which was at Muria’s feet.
“Tend to this bear.” Muria pointed to the brutal bear under his foot, that was bleeding profusely from its nose. It seems that Muria has broken its nose.
“As you wish.” Hearing Muria’s words, Commander Ebute began casting a healing spell on the brutal bear without any hesitation.
Yes, this hulking cloud giant leader is actually a spellcaster. However, he is not a mage, but a sorcerer, relying on his bloodline powers to cast spells. Though the types of spells he can learn are limited, his casting speed was faster.
If anyone foolishly considered this giant sorcerer as weak as a human mage in close quarter combat, they would soon learn the terrifying power of a giant. Of course, any creature with common sense would not underestimate the power of such a massive giant sorcerer.
A healing spell that Muria could not recognize or identify was cast by Ebute almost instantly.
The blue magic spirit light fell on the nose of the brutal bear, making the large creature release comfortable moaning sounds, as the wounds on its nose began to heal quickly.
Muria sighed with a sense of helplessness. His human thoughts have always influenced him, making his earlier performances seem ridiculous. He still hadn’t fully adapted to his current identity.
“Commander Poton, find me another brutal beast. I need a stronger one.” Muria turned his head and ordered Commander Poton. He wanted to confirm his understanding of his identity through combat.
And so, a number of cloud giants once again dispersed with Muria’s commands looking for the target…
“Boom!” Muria executed an elegant shoulder throw, slamming a brutal great ape standing nine meters high onto the ground. This occurs while the great ape was still dizzily trying to stand up.
Muria then rushed up again with a leap, a beautiful uppercut punched the head of this extraordinarily ugly great ape, causing it to stick its head up. Several blood-stained, yellowish teeth splattered out from the great ape’s mouth.
Then, the brutal great ape fell backward, directly fainting from the beating it received from Muria.
“Ebute, heal it.” Muria pointed to this great ape, who had been beaten quite miserably by him. This was Muria’s way of compensating this unfortunate great ape.
Up to now, Muria had challenged four silver-ranked brutal wild beasts or, more accurately, he had one-sidedly beaten up four brutal wild beasts.
This great ape, was the second silver fifth-tier brutal beast he had challenged. This was his last challenge, as Muria had now fully ascertained what his power represented at the silver rank.
“Although I am only at the silver third tier, whether it be power, speed or defense, I far surpass the silver-ranked brutal beasts. To battle them is a mere oppression, and completely meaningless.”
Muria lifted his hand, looking at that white, delicate skin that seemed to be fragile, yet this hand alone could easily overturn any brutal beast. No creature could compete against him in combat, not even the brutal silver fifth-tier elephant that he had just challenged before.
“Titans and Golden Dragons are truly powerful and scary creatures.” Muria said with a gratified smile, “I’ve just grown past my infancy, and aged such immense power. I wonder how strong I’ll be when I grow up.”
“Your Highness Muria. There is a brutal snake discovered.” A cloud giant guard reported to him.
“There’s no need. Command all cloud giants to find me a gold-tier creature. The silver-ranked brutal animals are now useless for me. Fighting with them is a waste of time.” Muria commanded.
“Yes.” The admiration on the faces of the cloud giant guards was evident. The words of Muria were loud and clear, He would challenge the creatures of the gold rank.
“Your Highness Muria, isn’t it too soon to challenge gold-ranked monsters?” Ebute, who had just finished treating the brutal great ape, lectured with a slight frown on his face.
“I came here to practice my combat techniques, but I can easily suppress the silver fifth-tier brutal beasts with my strength alone. In such a scenario, there is no need for combat techniques.”
Muria frowned at Ebute, the giant leader that he had considered purely as a medic all this while. All brutal beasts that he had beaten up were treated by Ebute.
“But, Your Highness Muria, the gold rank is completely different from silver rank, a gold rank might be stronger than you think.” Ebute subtly advised.
“How strong?” Muria, who was beginning to indulge in his new-found physical power, asked excitedly.
“…” At this point, Ebute didn’t know how to respond because he didn’t know how to describe the power of the gold rank. For the Titans and Golden Dragons, the gold rank was only a transitional phase in their life journey. Talking about their existence at this level being powerful? It was just a joke.
“Your Highness, I heard you are going to challenge a gold-tier monster?” The cloud giant leader, Poton, carrying a studded hammer, walked up with large strides. A smile spread across his face as he lavished praise, “True to being the Son of the Titan, even the gods in heaven would be surprised and in awe of your bravery.”
“Poton, I don’t need the admiration of the gods in heaven, all I need right now is a gold-tier monster. Have you found it?” Muria was indifferent to Poton’s praise. He held no respect for the actual gods existing in this world.
“We’ve found it, Your Majesty. It’s a Saber-toothed Tiger.”
“Where?” Muria was over the moon.
Avoid treating others as fools lest you become a fool yourself.
Now, feeling like a fool, Muria realizes that there are many intelligent species in Elasia. Even wild beasts are exceptionally sharp-minded, with the wisdom of some powerful beast being on par with humans.
However, the claim about their intelligence being on par with humans is inherently flawed. There is a difference in intelligence among humans too. So, the intelligence of these beasts should be measured against which type of human?
Muria had always thought that powerful beasts can equate to the wisdom of average humans at most, no smarter than that.
But now, Muria discovered that the book’s assessment of the beasts being “on par with humans” was indeed an underestimation.
Muria, led by Poton Commander, was able to find the Saber-toothed Tiger he spoke of which was gold-ranked.
It was quite a ferocious-looking large feline, lazily half-sitting by a spring, its snow-white saber-teeth and body nearly ten meters long, less the tail. This animal was naturally a King of the Jungle.
However, just as Muria secretly admired the Saber-toothed Tiger, the “King of the Jungle” stood up as soon as he saw Muria approaching and started to sniff the air carefully.
Then, to everyone’s surprise, the big cat swiftly moved to Muria’s side, bypassing all Cloud Titan Guards, including both giant leaders, before anyone could stop it.
Just as the furious Cloud Titans were about to attack, the Saber-toothed Tiger started rubbing its body against Muria, causing quite a scene among the Cloud Titans.
The big cat shamelessly lay on the ground, showing Muria its snow-white belly. A series of familiar actions that left Muria puzzled for quite a while.
“Is it … trying to play cute with me?” Muria, unsure of what was happening, questioned the two Giants leaders, as he found the actions very familiar.
“…Yes, Your Majesty.” Ebute, having paused for a moment, replied in a dry voice.
“I’ve never seen a Saber-toothed Tiger so…” Just as Poton lowered his head, he caught sight of the Saber-toothed Tiger at Muria’s feet, blinking at him. He quickly made a correction, “A Saber-toothed Tiger so wise.”
“Isn’t it a gold-rank entity? Doesn’t it say in the books that animals of such rank are very hard to tame?” An incredulous Muria looked down at the Saber-toothed Tiger, which was still demanding his attention.
“Difficult to tame, yes, for other races. The Titan tribe does not fall into this category.” Ebute paused and then explained, “I’m guessing this Saber-toothed Tiger must have sensed the Titan aura in you, Your Majesty.”
“You are quite the opportunist, big cat,” Muria, squatting down, addressed the Saber-toothed Tiger, “I know you can understand me. Would you care to spar with me?”
The Saber-toothed Tiger looked innocently at Muria and nuzzled his body again, acting just like a well-behaved cat.
“Are you wary about the Titan bloodline in me? It’s all right. Even if you ended up scratching me, no one would hold it against you. Come on, let’s have a good fight!”
However, the Saber-toothed Tiger still showed no reaction, with absolutely no intention of rising to fight.
“Dammit, are you truly gold-tier? Why are you acting so cowardly?!” An annoyed Muria rested his hand on the Tiger’s head and began to stroke it indulgently.
Turning his head in the direction Muria could not see, the Saber-toothed Tiger rolled its eyes at him in an incredibly human-like manner.
But after rolling its eyes, the Tiger faced Muria again and allowed Muria to groom it from head to tail. The fluffy facial expression on its face was one of complete bliss.

“Commander Ebute, Commander Poton, what should I do?” While stroking the “cat”, Muria lifted his head and asked, “The silver-ranked ones are too weak for me, and the gold-ranked beasts, on the other hand, have no intention of fighting me.”
“Your Majesty, there’s one more way if you want to practice your martial skills and think that silver-rank is too weak. I hesitate to say this, but each of us Cloud Giants is more than willing to spar with you. In fact, any giant on this island would be willing,” Ebute suggested after a moment’s hesitation.
“Is that right? Well, I’ve got no other choice then.” Muria nodded, feeling somewhat helpless. It seems he could only rely on the Giants to practice his martial skills, but he was not hundred percent positive about its effectiveness.
Given the Giants’ attitude towards him, no matter how strong any of them would be, Muria felt that they would purposely “lose” to him.
It was precisely because of this worry that Muria began to seek out ferocious wild beasts that would not hesitate to attack him. Only to be surprised, even the wild beasts, once they achieve gold-tier, become so tricky to handle.
