The bright golden light radiated out of the crown of the majestic dragon high in the sky. The dark clouds of smoke were constantly spinning while mixing with the neverending flood of dust and sand.

The crown became even brighter as the dragon fed mana into it. The mana circulated through it, transforming, condensing and purifying into something new, something better.

Vesuvius felt the mana within his body getting sucked away at an insane amount, like a river heading straight into a black hole.

The whole world slowed down in the dragon's eyes as the huge worm with the length that would shame any skyscraper wiggled, its black mouth sucking the sand around it in a massive whirlpool. The sand was sucked in, clearing the whole atmosphere. The massive spinning hurricane of sand was vanishing, like water sucked into a drainage.

The neon-red rays rained from the sky, striking the worm from each direction, the vile cursed energy seeping into its flesh while the electricity seared its skin, turning it black.

Vesuvius felt a small droplet of the divine energy within the sea of mana flowing around his head, his eyes shining with excitement, his whole body trembling as he wanted to see its effects, 'I was too scared to use you to attack in the outside world. I will rather keep this as my trump card.'

The dragon grabbed it with his will, moving the single droplet of divine energy all the way to his breath glands. The veins transferring it glowed in such a bright golden light that they shoved up even through the layers of his armour and scales, brightly pulsing with the golden radiance.

The worm stopped wiggling, its whole body freezing as if in shock as the waves of divine energy spread through the sky, the golden brilliance flooding everything.

'I used divine energy before for my transformation spell, but it wasn't even near as pure. It was just what little bit that naturally condensed within my soul and heart, but now this is as pure as possible.'

The droplet entered his glands, a burning feeling akin to drinking pure alcohol spreading through his throat, the burning sensation only intensifying, the bright golden lights shining out of his opened mouth, the golden rays showering the whole desert.

Vesuvius pumped all of his mana into his throat, the mana and the divine energy mixing in a violent whirlpool of energy.

'Destroy!' The dragon's glands that were evolved to utilise it easily took control of the violent mix of energies, reigning them and igniting them.

The next moment pure golden flames exploded out, the mana catching fire. The flames descended at the poor worm, its whole body stiff as if it was a metal pole.

The whole sky was burning in the golden, flames the temperature raising so much that the sand on the ground was melting and turning into a glass without the flames even being close to it.

It was just a split second, and the divine energy ran out, the dragon's flaming breath fizzling out. However, the golden flames had already reached the worm, enveloping it whole. It tore through its body. The flames were hotter than anything he ever saw while still keeping the one uniform golden colour.

They carried one single intent to destroy the worm as it split atoms from atoms, the temperature so high that it tore the bonds between them.

The whole worm vanished, only motes of golden light remaining.

The wave of heat boosted by the divine energy swept through the desert, melting everything in its path, the whole desert all the way towards the horizon turning into a lake of molten glass.

'Such a destruction.'

It wasn't anything that he ever saw with mana or even mundane weapons. It was just purely unexplainable annihilation. There was no principle behind it, just pure, unreasonable, uncompromising death and destruction.

The whole sandstorm vanished. All of the sand melted or erased out of existence as far as his eyes could see.

There were no sounds, everything was dead, not even its body remaining, leaving behind only the dragon who felt conflicted, 'This is not something that mortals can resist.'

Finally, Vesuvius understood what separated the mortal and immortal races from the four balance races and gods, 'It isn't just domain. It is also this, this energy.'

The divine energy used by the dragon amplified its power over nature and life. It made a fire hotter and ice colder. It allowed him to defy the laws of reality as long as they belonged under his authority.

'In that case, how destructive is the divine energy used by reapers.' The dragon shook, imagining pure energy bringing nothing but death and destruction, everything disintegrating in its path. It would be like antimatter annihilating everything it touched.

However, he was still confused about demons and angels, with their authorities being much weirder and much more spiritual, 'What it can do? Control emotion, brainwash humans? Corrupt or purify. They are all unclear terms, making it weird and unpredictable.'

A brightly glowing portal whirling with rainbow colour opened right behind the dragon, sucking all of the light while the dungeon darkened. The purple sun in the sky was slowly fading and dimming down. The massive cracks spread through the desert, deepening and widening, on their bottom nothing but an endless black void.

The dragon looked last time at the crumbling and collapsing desert world before he stepped into the portal, the space around him once again warping and twisting.

The next moment he stood back in the forest, the tall mountain peaks towering all around him, their tips still covered in the snow even though it was already summer.
