POV Ambassador:

A crystal brightly shined, projecting an image.

The entire sky burned in red, and the tall silhouettes of demons marched through a forest, leaving behind nothing but a desolate burned wasteland. Each of the demons was tall, at least two floors high. Large fiery fings of fire burned on their muscular bodies of fire and shadow. The long bull-like horns, forged out of the even brighter red fire, grew from their heads.

Their toothy weapon designed for both torture and warfare forged in the forges of hell shone with twisted evil runes engraved all over them in their hands.

Like a swarm of ants, hordes of lesser demons crawled under the feet of their demonic masters, their eyes brightly glowing in the darkness enshrouding the army.

"They are all demon knights from the circle of anger... How can there be so many of them?" An old man trembled in his chair, his face white from the shock.

His instincts were screaming at him that it wasn't just regular demon incursion, but something worse, way worse.

He was old and hoped to retire, but now everything was engulfed in chaos. The conflict between the dragon and the Church of Light threatened the continent with large-scale warfare, often causing him headaches. And now, the armies of the most aggressive tribe of demons have invaded in large numbers.

'This feels wrong... It is as if some evil force wanted to destabilize this continent. They pitted the church and dragon against each other, and now they have invited the demons to this world.'

"Arrange me a meeting with that elf! GO! Now!" He waved at his assistant, that was also pale, looking at the image of a demonic army.

He felt like he and his emperor were the only ones who wanted to preserve the current era of peace, with everyone around them trying for the opposite.

POV Vesuvius:

The dragon carefully read through the options for the evolution of his last ability, 'After this, only my space and curse magic will remain, but they can wait.'

He still had the skill upgrade token and the token to infuse ability with chaos elements, but he decided to keep them for now, unsure of what he should use.

Dragon Lord's Backup Vitality (LV 20):

Description: The heart of dragons is the source of their mana, life, and divine energy. This makes it their most important body part and their largest weak spot. They can quickly use this energy in the case of a heart injury to keep living and regenerate the heart to save their life.

'Just as I thought, I really got the improved power to circle my vitality and magic stats between themself.' Vesuvius was filled with pride as his guess, and the gamble worked.

However, his eyes flickered when he looked at the other three options, all of them which were powerful and useful.

'The first and third ones are lifesavers that could save me in time of need.' They were useful, but he still quickly crossed out the first one, 'I have two hearts, and I already did a lot to protect them. There is no need to invest in it even more as it is otherwise inferior to the other three options.'

He immediately moved towards the third as he calmed down and saw that it would be highly redundant, 'I have my nanites for regeneration, and the loop one would allow me to quickly change my magic to vitality to preserve my life. The nanites might not be as potent for now, but if I evolve them, that might change. The price of divine energy is also steep. When I would be in a state where I would need to regenerate so much, I would have likely been already out of it.'

Finally, he moved towards the second option, 'It is powerful, but again, I don't want to waste my divinity to increase my vitality when I can instead use my magic for it.'

He had too few of DIV to just squander it away. On top of that, it was extremely hard to raise it.

'I will go with my original plan....'

The dragon confirmed his choice, and the world around him warped and twisted. The next moment, he was back in the mountains, the tall white peaks rising above the clouds.

He flapped his wings, and his body launched upwards with a loud sonic boom. He shot straight above the clouds, leaving behind a collum of flames and smoke sparking with electricity.

His eyes locked with the distant horizon, the rays of the setting down sun reflecting within his shiny horns, poking out of the smoke shrouding him.

It was finally his time to enact his duty, on his divine mission to kill the disgrace of dragon kind and traitor.
