Legendary Architect of Apocalypse-Chapter 188: Real or Imagination
He looked at the neon sign on the nearby shop, which wasn't lit anymore. On the other wall, there was a familiar graffiti, which was one of the last few things he had seen before his death.
It was certainly the place where he had died, but something didn't add up. He couldn't find his body here. There were all the other bodies that had been present when he died in his first life. Only his own body was missing.
His sister's body was still there, looking just as bad as all the other bodies in the surroundings. Her clothes were covered in dirt, as her body was left here to rot in rain and water.
Elias walked closer to his sister, and his gaze fell on the knife nearby. It was the same knife that he had used to stay himself.
The knife had rust, but he couldn't see any blood on it, even though the last thing he remembered from this place was it plunging in his chest.
It was as if not only his body, but even his blood had been raised from existence.
"Did someone clean up this place?" he mumbled, his pupils trembling. "No, why would anyone do it?"
In this world, he was one of the millions of unclaimed corpses. There was no reason for anyone to take his body, or even clean up the blood from his knife. Even Dreke wouldn't have been so considerate to do something like this.
'Did my transmigration completely erase my past? No, if that was the case, why would she be at the exact place? I was the one who brought her here.'
His sister's body was lying right before him. Still, his mind was thinking about his own corpse more than anything. Even he didn't understand why he didn't feel the same level of grief for his sister that he thought he would feel when he was here.
No, there was grief in his heart. It just wasn't prominent enough to distract his thoughts from the disappearance of his own body.
He rubbed his forehead tightly, with the strength that could peel off the skin if he was an ordinary person.
"What is wrong?" Astralious saw veins on Elias's forehead become visible, as he kept rubbing his forehead. His gaze kept shifting between the girl's body, and the knife next to it.
"Do you recognise her?" he asked.
Elias didn't answer, but the question did bring him out of the frustrating phase. He closed his eyes for a moment, and took deep breaths.
Although the question was still crawling in his mind, he tried to stop thinking about it, feeling as if he might go crazy if he didn't.
After a long time, he opened his eyes. The previous calm had returned to his gaze, but it came with coldness like never before. He had momentarily suppressed even more of his emotions to control his thoughts.
He bent forward, and reached out his hand. Astralious thought that he was going to pick up the girl since he appeared to be affected after coming across her. But he was slightly taken aback when Elias simply picked up the rusted knife next to her.
"Is there anything special about this knife?" he asked Elias.
"I just have a feeling that this thing is very close to my heart," Elias turned the tip of the heart toward his chest, but he didn't stab himself.

He just tried to gain the familiar feeling of the past, that felt like a dream. Did it really happen? Or were these memories just somehow planted in his mind by someone? Was it even a transmigration in the first place?
"Don't you dare stab yourself with this," Astralious started panicking when Elias turned the knife towards him. The knife's top was merely inches away from his chest.
"I'm not going to kill myself. Stop being foolish." Elias waved his hand, and sent the knife in his inventory, feeling as if he needed to do a little more experimentation.
After sending the knife back, he turned to the girl on the ground. His gaze was filled with a lot of conflict, as his emotions, thoughts, and memories all started having a conflict.
He had suppressed his emotions to resolve the conflict, but the memories and the thoughts still made him feel confused. Was this girl truly his sister in that life?
Was he a human from earth who had entered the body of Elias Ashborn? Or was he Elias Ashborn in the first place, who had just received some manipulated memories.
Did he even bring this girl here? Or did she walk here alone, and the memories made it seem like he was responsible?
'I don't know anymore. If it's not real, then what is the purpose of these memories? To make me hate the Family even more? For me to lose a sense of belonging? Or am I just overthinking it?'
He reached out his hand, and picked up the little girl in his arms, just like she had done in those memories.
His eyes looked at the lifeless girl, but they were missing the sense of warmth that he had expected before coming here.
'I don't know what is true, and what is a lie. But until I find out, I will assume those memories to be true, sister.' He hugged the girl close to his chest, and his dark wings unfurled again.
He soared into the sky, leaving a gust of wind in the sky.
"Why is he taking that rotten corpse with him? Did he become a garbage collector as well?"
"It doesn't matter. Aren't we here to get the points from him? There is only half an hour left in the timer. I will still follow him. Whoever kills him, will get the points!"
The two children from the Creator Class also climbed back on their Summoned Beasts, and chased after Elias.
The trip was very short for Elias, and only took ten minutes before he landed again.
