Legendary FBI Detective-Chapter 326: Hollywood Tycoon Shooting Case
On the way home, this time Luo An was driving.
Mona sat in the passenger seat, silent for a moment, then suddenly turned around with a smile and asked:
"Luo An, Reesi doesn't want to be with Michelle, does she?"
"Most likely not."
Luo An shook his head upon hearing this:
"Reesi is very picky, only likes girls who are young and pretty, aged 18-25, with a good figure.
Michelle is already 29 this year, her appearance and figure are just average, completely out of Reesi's preferential range."
"Uh..."
Mona twitched the corners of her mouth upon hearing this, then raised her eyebrows:
"And what about you, Luo An? What type do you like?"
"Of course, I like someone like you."
With his ample experience, Luo An easily sidestepped the pit Mona had dug for him; with just a few sweet nothings, Mona was delighted, which made Luo An chuckle and continue:
"I think the questions Reesi asked Michelle are probably about what kind of things more artistic women like Michelle prefer."
Luo An wasn't making baseless predictions. A few days ago, during a lunch outing, he saw Reesi hitting on a female college student working part-time at the restaurant wearing glasses.
Although the waitress looked plain, the observant Luo An was sure that with a different hairstyle and clothes, she could definitely rival those stars in Hollywood.
When Reesi was chatting with the girl, Luo An noticed that the girl's discourse and values were somewhat artistic.
Also, these past few days, Reesi often carried books borrowed from Michelle that she hardly read, which led Luo An to make his earlier judgment.
After hearing Luo An's words, Mona yawned and brushed aside the issues concerning Reesi.
She normally wasn't interested in Reesi's private life; her curiosity was merely piqued earlier by Reesi's secretive demeanor.
Saturday evening passed quickly, and on Sunday, Luo An and Mona continued to hang out and shop around Los Angeles.
During this time, they bumped into the FBI's primary investigation team and went over to greet them, only then did they learn that LAPD admitted their incapacity to handle the book theft case at Los Angeles Library, hence the case was transferred to the FBI.
"Hard work."
Patting the shoulders of the two agents from the primary team, Luo An handed them the coffee he just bought and then left the scene smiling with Mona.
"Thank you, Deputy Group Leader Greenwood."
The two agents gratefully accepted the coffee, with one of the short-haired agents looking at Luo An and Mona's departing figures, quite emotional:
"Both teams are from the criminal investigation department, why does the work of the Special Investigation Team seem so relaxed?"
"You're overthinking it."
The other, somewhat older agent, took a sip of coffee and said with a smile:
"It's because Deputy Group Leader Greenwood is exceptionally capable, that's why you guys feel the Special Investigation Team's work seems simple."
"Hmm..."
The short-haired agent wanted to discuss their own team leader, but after thinking it over, swallowed his words.
"Let's go, back to work."
"OK."
The day passed quickly on Sunday, and after experiencing another of Mona's clever surprises, Luo An started the new week's work.
Monday, Special Investigation Team office area.
"Good morning, everyone."
While having his breakfast, Luo An pushed open the door of the investigation team:
"How was your weekend?"
Mona glanced at Luo An without responding, and went to her seat to start eating her breakfast.
Reesi didn't answer Luo An either, but her face was full of smiles, brimming with smugness.
Michelle, on the other hand, swallowed the breakfast in her mouth and seriously responded to Luo An's words:
"I spent the whole day reading on Sunday, it was very enjoyable."
"Good."
Finishing his breakfast in a few bites, Luo An took out his phone from his pocket, shook it, and said:
"Everyone, get ready for work, LAPD has sent us a new gift."
————
Los Angeles central, a street.
Luo An and Reesi parked their SUV by the roadside, and not far diagonally across from them, several LAPD police cars surrounded a silver-gray convertible sports car.
Police tape was set around the perimeter, and several LAPD patrol officers stood outside the tape, working hard to maintain order and prevent the swarm of media with cameras and microphones from entering the scene.
"Wow, typical Los Angeles journalists."
Following Luo An, Reesi slowly walked towards the scene and looked at her watch:
"It seems it took us less than twenty minutes to get here after receiving the notification from the LAPD."
"If you were a reporter, you'd definitely be fired."
Luo An grinned upon hearing this:
"These reporters would've been replaced by their colleagues if they took more than ten minutes to arrive at the scene of the crime."
Reesi shook her head:
"Crazy Los Angeles."
"No, it should be pathological Hollywood."
Casually correcting Reesi's words, Luo An took out his golden badge to display his identity, then lifted the police tape to enter the scene.
An LAPD police captain came over and extended his hand:
"Hello, Deputy Group Leader Greenwood, I'm Yoland."
"Hello, Captain Yoland."
Luo An shook hands with the officer and asked:
"What's the situation here?"
"The victim was driving while speaking to his lawyer on the phone when he died."
Yoland led Luo An over to the silver-gray convertible and pointing at the body inside, he explained:
"The lawyer heard two gunshots and the sound of a car collision. After several calls to his boss went unanswered, the lawyer quickly called the police.
The lawyer is a witness, and we've asked him to come to the scene; he's on his way."
"Good."
Luo An nodded and began to examine the body in the sports car.
Because the body's head was tilted to the left, Luo An couldn't see the face clearly; however, Reesi on the opposite side had a better view.
Seeing the victim's face, Reesi suddenly exclaimed:
"It's Zande Gis!"
Luo An looked puzzled:
"You know him?"
"I'm more surprised that you don't know him."
Hearing Luo An's words, Reesi was somewhat speechless, then patiently explained the victim's identity:
"Sande Gis, in his thirties this year, a big boss of a well-known Hollywood film company, a wealthy second-generation, also a billionaire.
Since using the inherited funds to successfully acquire that film company, Sande Gis has been constantly in the news.
Because this guy is too promiscuous, he gets involved in scandals with some female movie stars every now and then."
"This is Hollywood, quite normal."
Luo An felt nothing unusual about it, it's quite normal for the owner of a film company to get involved with actresses.
There's a saying, at the end of Hollywood's Mulholland Drive is a bed.
Thinking for a moment, Reesi walked over to Luo An and whispered in his ear:
"Additionally, this guy has quite a record.
In the FBI's internal database, there are quite a few cases where victims accused him of assault, but he's used money to make these issues go away."
This news did surprise Luo An; Sande Gis was a billionaire yet involved in non-consensual actions?
Luo An's look of surprise wasn't seen by Reesi as she continued to whisper:
"If Sande Gis really died over a woman, then there would be too many suspects in this case."
"How many could there be? Hundreds?"
"No, definitely over a thousand."
