Living with the Dangerous Beast-Chapter 23: That’s Not the Place
Chapter 23: That’s Not the Place
One early morning after returning from a fox hunt, Dohwi went into the bedroom, worried about Sohwa, who had dug up the deer bones buried in the front yard and was now lying down, sick with fear.
Whether it was the scent of the terrified fox or his own heightened smell due to the excitement of the hunt, Sohwa had wet herself.
It had been quite a shock for Dohwi as well.
Was his presence so terrifying that it made her wet herself?
Feeling sorry for the scared Sohwa, he had decided to stop fox hunting.
He had buried the fox right in front of her, making it clear that she would never have to bond with another male.
It was a sign that no other male would ever have her.
Even though he pitied Sohwa trembling inside the half-broken badger den, everything that happened today was unavoidable once she had triggered his ferocity.
‘You shouldn’t have told me to leave. Did you really think I’d just walk away that easily?’
“I get it, I get it. Let’s go back to ‘our home,’ okay?”
‘Why did you tell me to find another female and start a family? Did you want to make me this angry?’ freёweɓnovel.com
“Stay still.”
He had tried to be gentle. He wanted to treat her softly like a flower, he wanted to lick her with love and affection like how she licked her favorite ripe persimmons.
“If you had stayed still from the start, it would’ve been better. Look at all this mess you have made.”
He hated seeing her cower in fear, so he licked her thoroughly.
Even though he would mostly remain in his human form, she needed to get used to his true form as a tiger.
She needed to stay by his side for a long time, carrying his children and raising them well until death to them apart.
Just as he found the lovely fox endearing, she should at least not tremble in fear in front of him.
“Is this why you bought the cage from the start?”
“Of course not.”
Originally, he wanted to keep a pretty bird that sang well.
Since she loved bird meat so much, he thought she’d enjoy having a cute little bird just like her.
Of course, he wasn’t entirely devoid of other thoughts when buying that leash...
“Don’t think of leaving me again. It’s useless. You know that now, right?”
Her appearance, flattened and caged, was quite cute.
When Dohwi in his human form tapped on the iron bars, Sohwa bared her teeth and growled as if she would bite him any second.
‘My cute fox, she’s so adorable even when she’s angry.’
“There’s nothing to worry about. All you need to do is live happily ever after with me.”
Despite still wetting herself in fear, Dohwi was confident he could make Sohwa happier than any other fox in the world.
“The Imoogi has a divine orb. With that orb, even half-beasts of different species like us can have children.”
An eagle traveling between Mount Seolhak told him that the orb was a mystical object effective for infertile couples like them.
It was an object of great power, so coveted that even long-trained spirits desired it.
With that orb, Sohwa could bear his children.
Dohwi smiled in joy.
He already knew an Imoogi that had dropped its orb while ascending.
Though he had never thought it would be useful to him.
“I’ll go get it. Your wish is to have a baby, right?”
“....”
As expected, her left ear perked up.
“You really are interested, after all. You’re making my heart flutter, honey.”
Dohwi smirked mischievously.
“Let’s go home, Sohwa. I’ll get the orb before your next heat cycle. I promise.”
Though he didn’t have the orb yet, Sohwa needed time anyway.
He had heard that for her fragile human body to accept him and get used to it, she needed not only mental preparation but also ‘physical practice.’
He should lick and touch her thoroughly to prevent her from fainting.
Though he hadn’t tried it yet, Dohwi was confident that he could eventually do it, as long as his partner was none other than Sohwa, his one and only fox for life.

“Sigh....”
A thin sigh escaped from Sohwa’s lips as she soaked her body in the bathtub.
She was in the hot, fragrant water, which was pleasant enough to melt her tired body exhausted from running in the rain, but she was also full of worries.
‘What does Dohwi want to do with me?’
Could they really have a baby and live happily together despite being of different species?
Was Dohwi really going to be her husband?
‘What if one day he gets hungry and wants to eat me?’
Everything was so confusing for her.
Sitting up slightly and hugging her legs, Sohwa buried her head between her knees.
Despite the cold air tickling her exposed neck and shoulders, she needed somewhere to lean.
Closing her eyes, she tried to push away the terrifying thoughts of the monstrous tiger waiting for her in the bedroom.
Both physically and mentally exhausted, she quickly fell into a doze.
Just then, as she was about to fall asleep, warm water was gently poured over her shoulder.
Startled, Sohwa opened her eyes wide.
“...Dohwi.”
Why was he in the bath?
