Married For Now-Chapter 223: LITTLE FAMILY

A month ago...

SAVE THE OMEGA aka STO.

An STO is a medical order issued by a physician that directs healthcare providers to save the Omega in the event the childbirth goes wrong and they are forced to choose between the mother and the baby.

Since Sohee was a male Omega, he wasn’t really surprised that his OB-GYN issued the STO order for him.

But he wasn’t the one who requested it.

"Hyung, I’m sorry for asking your OB-GYN to issue an STO order for you without consulting with you first," Kim Heedo, who was sitting across from him with a solemn look on his face, said. "But the STO order won’t be officially recognized unless it has your signature, so please let me convince you to sign this."

"I was wondering why you brought me to this nice restaurant," Sohee said. He wasn’t mad, but he thought it was fun to tease his husband who looked so serious at the moment. "I thought we were on a date, but we’re just here to talk about some serious stuff, huh?"

As expected, his Alpha panicked.

"N-No, it’s not like that, Hyung. Of course, this is a date. But since you look like you’re in a good mood, I thought this was the perfect time to bring this up."

"I know, Heedo-ya. I’m just teasing you."

"Hyung isn’t mad?"

"I’m not," Sohee said softly while shaking his head. "I understand why you’d request an STO order behind my back. You’re scared, aren’t you?"

Kim Heedo nodded eagerly. "Hyung, all male Omegas give birth through C-Section."

That was right.

Hence, Sohee would need to undergo C-Section once it was time for him to give birth to his babies.

It’s a bit scary, but I need to endure for my little geese.

"Of course, I know childbirth is dangerous and deadly whether it’s C-Section or not," Kim Heedo said worriedly. "But the mortality rate for male Omegas is high, that’s why I’m scared. If something bad happens to Hyung, I’ll die."

"Yah. Don’t talk about death so easily. Our babies could hear you."

"Then please cover their ears in the meantime, Hyung. I’m about to say something that might hurt them."

Sohee immediately cupped his now swollen belly with his hands. "Okay, I’m listening."

"Hyung, if I were forced to choose between you and our babies, I’d choose you," Kim Heedo said in a serious tone. "I’m sorry. I love our babies, of course. And I want them to be born safely. But not at your expense, Hyung. I’ll die if you die."

"Heedo-ya, I want to be a mother."

"Hmm?"

"But how could I be a mother and enjoy motherhood if I’m dead?" Sohee said, smiling bitterly. "You may be disappointed with what I’m about to say, but I also don’t want to die while giving birth to our babies. I love them so much that I can’t imagine dying and letting other people raise them on my behalf. And the idea of you getting remarried so that someone could help you raise our children infuriates me."

"Hyung, that won’t happen. I won’t get remarried. I’ll die as soon as you die."

"You can’t be so sure about that. Ah, dammit. I’m getting pissed just imaging another person being your spouse."

"Hyung, that will never happen."

"Yeah, I won’t let that happen because I’m determined to live and give birth to our babies safely," Sohee said sternly. "I will sign the STO order, but that doesn’t mean I’m giving up on our little golden geese— we will all survive, Heedo-ya. Trust me."

Kim Heedo looked relieved by his decision. "Thank you, Hyung. And I trust you— I’ll be praying for you and our babies to be safe."

SOHEE remembered the night he signed the STO order with Kim Heedo because he could hear the doctors and nurses talking.

I feel bad that I chose to sign the STO order, but I want to live and be with Heedo for a long, long time.

Having said that, he didn’t want to lose his babies either.

That’s why I’m going to survive no matter what.

Sohee was already on the operating table, his senses numb from the anesthesia.

In fact, he was close to falling asleep now.

Yeah, I have to be asleep during the entire procedure.

"Doc, the patient has an STO order."

IT HAD only been less than an hour since Park Sohee was taken inside the operating room.

And, yet, it felt like forever to Kim Heedo.

Please let Sohee Hyung and our babies be safe.

This time, he wasn’t alone while waiting in front of the OR.

His mother called his father, and then his father also brought the twins.

Kim Hanhae and Kim Haewon brought Go Gunjoon with them (since Park Sohee’s half-brother was already attending the same school as the twins).

Anyway, their friends also made it.

Yang Jaewon called Hong Sera, Kwon Gaon, and Cho Euntak.

Fortunately, nobody was talking to Heedo since he wasn’t really in his right mind.

Hyung, please...

As if his prayer was answered, the door of the OR finally opened.

The doctor in charge of the C-Section came out first.

Heedo immediately jumped to his feet. "Can I see my husband now?"

WHEN Sohee woke up, he felt like he had been run over by a truck.

Every inch of his muscle ached.

But he thought everything was worth it when he saw the two nurses holding each of his crying babies.

Aww, they’re so loud.

It was a good thing, of course.

My babies are alive, and so am I.

"Park Sohee-ssi, would you like to hold your babies?"

Sohee was still in pain, but he couldn’t wait to hold his little geese in his arms.

However, before he could even respond to the nurse...

"Sohee Hyung!"

Oh.

Sohee didn’t know if he’d be happy or annoyed that Kim Heedo just ran past their babies without even glancing at them.

His husband went straight to him, kneeling beside the bed while holding his hand.

I can’t scold him since he looks relieved that I survived.

"You did well, Hyung," Kim Heedo said softly, closing his eyes while kissing the back of Sohee’s hand. "Thank you for coming back to me alive, Sohee Hyung."

Aww.

"I’m back," Sohee said weakly. When his husband opened his eyes and looked up at him, he rewarded him with a tired but warm smile. "Thank you for waiting for me, Heedo-ya."

WHEN Sohee woke up after an entire day of sleeping, he found himself in the VIP Room once again.

He also felt refreshed, so the nurses probably gave him a bath.

But the best part?

"I’m not just saying this because I gave birth to them, but my babies are really beautiful," Sohee said proudly while the twins were sleeping on his chest. "Newborn babies are usually ugly, but our babies are pretty, Heedo-ya."

Kim Heedo, who had never left the room, nodded while sitting on the chair next to the bed. "Yes, Hyung. Our babies look like you, so they are pretty."

"No, they actually look more like you. Your genes made our babies beautiful."

"But you’re more beautiful, Hyung."

"Your opinion doesn’t count," Sohee said teasingly. He was teasing his husband, but he couldn’t tear his gaze away from his babies. They were so small, warm, and soft. His maternal instincts were coming out even though his children weren’t in danger. "It’s nice to meet you, Kim Woochul and Kim Woosung."

"Hyung, have you finally decided on those names?"

Sohee lifted his head and turned to Kim Heedo.

His husband’s eyes were still a bit puffy because he cried out of worry when Sohee couldn’t stay awake for more than a few minutes earlier.

But, despite that, Kim Heedo’s face was beaming.

"Out of all the names we listed as options, those two stuck with me the most," Sohee said, and then he gazed at his babies lovingly once again. "Kim Woochul was born a minute earlier than Kim Woosung, so he’s the hyung. Our Kim Woosung is the maknae then."

No matter how many times he said it already, the names that he had chosen for his sons would just roll off his tongue perfectly.

That’s how I know I chose the right names for them.

"How about you, Heedo-ya?" Sohee said, turning to his husband. "Do you like the names I chose for our babies?"

"Yes, Hyung. I love the names," Kim Heedo said, smiling warmly. And then, for the first time, he finally looked at their babies lovingly. "Kim Woochul and Kim Woosung, thank you for completing our family."
