Marvel: Umbrella Corporation-Chapter 175: Unexpected Twists Beyond the Plot
Chapter 175 - Unexpected Twists Beyond the Plot
In Asgard~
Loki sat on the throne, watching as the Destroyer was being held back. His brows furrowed slightly.
"Isn't Midgard supposed to be the weakest realm? Why are there so many powerful beings?"
However, after observing for a while, he no longer had time to concern himself with what was happening there. He had already dismissed the guards around Odin's Odinsleep chamber—now, all that remained was to bring Laufey inside.
With that in mind, Loki eagerly rose from his seat and made his way toward Odin's chambers.
..........
At that moment, inside Odin's bedroom~
Laufey stood with his warriors, surrounding the greatest enemy of his life—the source of his nightmares.
But now, the once-mighty Odin lay motionless on the bed, seemingly lifeless.
"Odin... You were once so powerful, so terrifying that your very presence suffocated me. But now, you lie in bed, waiting to die. Hahaha..."
Laufey's laughter echoed through the chamber. But he did not waste time—he formed a dagger of ice in his palm, leaped onto the bed, and stabbed downward.
Suddenly, Odin's eyes snapped open. He rolled to the side, narrowly avoiding the fatal strike.
*Thud!*
The icy dagger plunged into the bed, piercing a deep hole.
"You're not in Odinsleep?!"
Odin did not respond. Instead, he dodged past the nearby Frost Giants and ran for the exit.
He had been in Odinsleep.
But he possessed a secret method to forcibly awaken himself—though it severely weakened his power, it allowed him to survive.
For that reason, he didn't attempt to fight back. His priority was escape.
Laufey was momentarily stunned but quickly regained his senses.
"Don't let him get away!"
"Aaargh!"
Suddenly, a scream came from outside.
Laufey rushed to the doorway and saw Loki standing there, gripping Gungnir with an icy expression.
Odin was on the ground, clutching his chest, his face filled with disbelief as he stared at Loki.
Loki's expression darkened further when he saw Laufey.
"Pathetic. You couldn't even kill one man."
Laufey scowled but held back his anger—this was not the time for bickering. Raising his ice dagger again, he lunged toward Odin.
Yet Odin did not look at Laufey. He kept his gaze locked onto Loki, his eyes full of sorrow and disbelief.
"Why... Why have you become like this...?"
Just as Laufey's dagger was about to strike, the space around Odin suddenly rippled, and he vanished.
Laufey's attack missed once more.
Loki immediately took several steps back, gripping Gungnir tightly.
"Mother, Frost Giants have invaded! Help me!"
He knew it was Frigga's magic that had saved Odin. If he could exploit her love, he might be able to capture her as well.
Though he had little hope—Frigga wasn't foolish. She would likely see through his deception.
Yet, to his surprise, Frigga appeared almost immediately after his plea.
"Loki... Why have you become like this?"
Her heartbroken gaze met Loki's eyes, but he merely smirked.
"Why? Hahaha..."
Loki laughed, tears welling in his eyes.
It was the kind of laughter that made onlookers feel an inexplicable sadness.
"You favored Thor from the beginning—training him as a future king while I was left to learn mere tricks.
The King of Asgard must be a warrior, strong enough to command respect. But I? A sorcerer, a mere trickster with daggers?"
"Whenever Thor left the palace, Heimdall watched him day and night. Yet when I left, only a few guards accompanied me.
And for so long, I believed this was simply how things were meant to be—because he was my brother."
"No matter how reckless or foolish he was, no matter the destruction he caused, you all turned a blind eye.
But the moment I made a single mistake, I was punished—locked away in meditation, or forced to train with daggers."
"I convinced myself that you loved me too, that you only favored Thor because he was born first.
But now I see the truth.
It's not because he was firstborn. It's because of this filthy, disgusting blood in my veins!"
Loki cast a look of utter contempt toward Laufey.
His entire life, he had been taught that the Frost Giants were evil, that they were the enemy. Now, knowing their blood ran through his veins, he despised it. And he hated Laufey even more.
Hearing Loki's confession, Frigga shook her head in sorrow.
"No, Loki... That's not true. We have always loved you. We only wanted to protect you—"
Before she could finish, an ice spike burst through her chest.

*Shhkk!*
Blood poured from the wound, staining the floor.
Laufey had struck from behind.
Loki felt as though a blade had pierced his own heart. Yet, as the God of Mischief, he swiftly buried his emotions, suppressing the anguish within.
His voice turned cold.
"Go after Odin. He can't have gone far!"
This was their best chance to kill Odin. If they let him escape, or worse, regain his strength, their fates would be sealed.
Laufey understood this as well. Without another word, he and his warriors began searching for Odin.
.........
At that moment, Odin was hiding in Frigga's chambers, clutching his wounded chest. Tears streamed from his eyes.
His heart ached—so much that it felt like he was being torn apart.
Some of it was for Frigga's death.
Some of it was for Loki's betrayal.
When Frigga had left, he had wanted to stop her.
But she had been determined. She had even reassured him, swearing that Loki would never harm her.
Yet the moment she stepped out...
She never returned.
A part of him wanted to rush out now—to kill that traitorous wretch, to slaughter Laufey and his ilk.
But forcibly waking from Odinsleep had drained him. His divine power was reduced to a mere fraction. If he left this chamber, he would be walking to his own execution.
And so, he sat there, cursing his own mercy.
If only he had killed Loki when he was just a babe. If only he had never entertained the foolish dream of peace with the Frost Giants.
As he wrestled with his regrets, a Frost Giant happened upon the room.
Odin quickly hid inside a wardrobe.
*BANG!*
A massive three-meter-tall Frost Giant kicked open the door. It scanned the room before turning away.
Odin exhaled in relief.
Then, from the adjacent chamber, a woman's scream pierced the silence.
*AAAAH!*
Followed by a pained cry.
Then—ragged, heavy breathing.
It was one of his concubines.
As the King of Asgard and ruler of the Nine Realms, he had not only Frigga but many other women as well.
