Mated to the Mad Lord-Chapter 281: Food
Chapter 281: Food
It was already shocking enough to wake up and wake up alone.
Violet had even more as far as to look around the entire wing before asking a guard for Cain’s whereabouts as she wondered with a skip in her heart for where he could have gone to only to be relieved that it was simply a meeting and he had even left a message for her to eat once she woke up.
Her mood instantly became much better than before as a hint of a smile teased along the edges of her lips as she took her bath and got ready.
Picking a pair of black slacks to wear with no intention of leaving the house.
But just as Viilet was toying with the idea of ordering food and eating in her room she suddenly heard a light knock on her door.
Her hair was still wet and wrapped in a towel but she didn’t hesitate to move closer to check who it was.
Pulling the door open and instantly delighted to see Uva who she couldn’t help but notice looked a bit stressed.
Violet instantly pulled the door open a bit wider to allow her in before closing it once she had gotten in.
"I’m surprised to see you—" still speaking only to pause as she heard Uva speak at the same time.
Her brows creased with an expression of worry as she slowly spoke starting intently at her.
Figured we’ve been stalled enough on you learning magic!" Uva said to Violet’s even more euphoric delight as she beamed from ear to ear.
"Really? You mentioned that you’ll have to activate my magic first and—"
"I know! I can’t fully do it but just enough that you should have no problems walking through walls!" Uva said as she settled on a chair.
Hee gaze glancing around the room ever so slightly as she added in a tone that sounded more like an afterthought and well-intentioned thought at the same time.
"...you can also change your face if you again decide to disappear!" Uva added even though she kept away whatever concerns she felt within her away.
Well aware of why Cain wanted her beside him when he had tortured and killed Ravon, almost like he was making him an example towards her.
She hadn’t known lord Cain for too long but she didn’t need a soothsayer to know that something was clearly wrong and it wasn’t something that she herself felt she could fix.
"ReLly? Thanks Uva!" Violet responded in an even more excited tone as she continued to speak even as she moved closer to the bed to ring a bell that was connected through the house and right to the servants quarters intent on eating as they talked.
Her stomach rumbling in defiance that she had even been able to go so long and sleep for such long hours without eating.
"Yes...but I’m sure I fan figure out other things I can do with it"
"To be honest, escaping is the last thing on my mind right now..." Violet confessed satisfied as she moved to sit right beside Uva completely missing the look of alarm that flashed in her eyes even as she settled into a small smile that fixed haphazardly on her face.
"Really? You like it here that much?" Uva asked with the smile still stamped on her face prepared to no longer keep skirting around the issue and simply warn Violet directly until her eyes widened even so slightly as she heard Violet’s next words.
Violet scooting closer to her with a light blush on her cheeks as she lowered her tone and whispered almost directly in her ears.
"I’only telling you this cause you’re my friend!" Violet began even as she wondered how her only friend just happened to be a hundred year old which masquerading to be you her than she was.
"Ca-cain bit me while...while, we-we had you know—se-sex!" stuttering heavily unable to meet Uva’s gaze as she spoke.
"The mate bond was half completely during his Rut!" Violet continued doing her best to explain it in the best way she possibly could at that moment.
Even as Uva did her best not to stare at her like she had just grown a new head right on the same shoulder.
Lightly nodding her head as she realized what had happened and also realized on Violet’s behalf that even if she ran there was no where she could go that Cain would not be able to find her.
Unless he broke the bond or she rejected him before it was fully completed.
"Are you going to complete it?" Uva seriously asked her without saying anything else. Going as far as to willingly give her enough space and time to conjure up a response.
Violet’s immediate reaction was to instantly shake her head that for it to be complete, Cain had to fuck her while she bit him and took in a bit of his blood, having read enough to know enough.
"I-I mean...I don’t know!" her stuttering back and heavier than before.
"I me-mean, I can’t! I can’t at least not now!" Violet said as she continued speaking even though her conviction wasn’t in the lightest bit strong enough to weather any storm.
Uva nodded in response without saying anything else as she took in a huge sigh of relief just before she began speaking again.
"I’ll teach you as much as I can!" Uva began, "...but in exchange I’ll like you to talk to Cain to allow me to leave when I decide to!"
"You-you want to leave?" Violet asked shocked that Uva would ask especially now that Cain was back and all seemed to be well.
"Why? Is there something you need to do?"
"I have friends Violet!" she responded with a sigh, "I had a life before I came here..." a bit sharper than she would have liked but she continued regardless.
"I was only supposed to come here for a while and not permanently!"
She added softening up her tone as she spoke even as Violet nodded her head to show that she fully understood what she was talking about.
"If that’s what—" Violet responded about to agree when suddenly a knock was head on the door one that instantly bad her jumping on her feet with anticipation.
Even more excited when she opened it and saw a servant lower his head as he walked in with a trolley of food. Moving straight towards the dining area to set it, without raising his head to look at either of them almost like he didn’t exist.
"We should ear first!" Violet said with barely contained excitement her stomach already rumbling from the smell and aroma of the food that pervaded the air.
Uva’s first instinct was to refuse having decided to keep some distance from Violet, aware that eating at the same table was doing the opposite of what she should.
Only to look up and see her expectant look one that drove her to her feet and towards the dinning table even as she felt her mouth water with the same intensity as she sat down to eat with her.
’food is definitely the way to a woman’s heart!’ she thought to herself as she slowly began to fill her plate from every dish on the table.
