Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva-Chapter 1010 - 108: Establishment of the Association
When Tilan was active during the holidays, on the other side, Yilin also returned to the Four-leaf Crystal Star Domain.
"Finally here."
Walking through the bridge corridor, Yilin arrived at the familiar Star Harbor waiting hall, hearing announcements over the speakers.
"Welcome to Star Harbor No. 2 of the Four-leaf Crystal Star Domain. If you wish to go to Jade Skirt, please proceed to Area A4 to take the shuttlecraft..."
She carried her handbag, moving briskly through the hall, first stopping at the dining area for a little something to eat before heading to Area A4 to board the shuttlecraft.
Two hours later, when Yilin stood once more on solid ground, a somewhat unfamiliar sense of gravity enveloped her. She stomped her foot slightly, taking a few minutes to readjust to the gravity environment of Jade Skirt.
In the days that followed, she followed her usual routine, first returning home to reunite with her family, spending a few leisurely and relaxing days before going to Tilan's former residence in Payin City, located in an underground residential area.
"Such a big change here." As she walked along the streets mapped out, Yilin was somewhat surprised because there was none of the past dirty and messy scenes left.
The corridors once full of graffiti and rusted decay were now refreshed, and the previously cluttered street-side shops had become clean and tidy, with added decorations, avoiding the purely industrial feel of coarse steel.
The street surfaces were uniformly covered with magnetic flooring, which allowed people to travel on many convenient moving platforms. These facilities were like flying carpets; as long as you stood on them and stated your destination, they would automatically take you there, albeit not very fast, suitable for sightseeing and use within large buildings.
Near Tilan's old home, there were quite a few visiting tourists. They were taking photos around the area, and some roadside shops were selling commemorative albums and various related products about Hexia Tilan.
"Qian Wen's grilled fish, Miss Tilan used to love eating it after school, everyone is welcome to come and try it~"
"'Destined Twins' immersive video recording the exciting battles of Hexia and Temisia sisters, it's something you must collect and watch to truly understand Hexia Tilan~"
"Here is a picture book recording Miss Tilan's childhood fun stories, those who like it can take it home for their children."
The economy around the songstress themes had developed here, especially stories recounting Tilan's childhood that Yilin had never heard of before.
"Although the stories are beautiful, did Tilan really experience these? How come I don't remember them?" As Tilan's elementary school classmate and with frequent contact in high school, Yilin thought she knew this friend quite well, yet here she found stories she was entirely unaware of.
"I wonder if they'll get into trouble for making up things like that." She slightly mocked, then put down her things and continued on.
Approaching Tilan's home, she found the area already sealed off, inaccessible to the public for protection reasons, surrounded by barriers with soldiers patrolling, leaving many tourists to only catch a distant glimpse before leaving.
This was troublesome indeed, Yilin observed the scene, refrained from approaching rashly, and decided to turn back for now.
The next night, a hover car escorted by military police entered the residential area, heading towards Tilan's original residence, and dropped off a young woman with chestnut hair.
"Miss Yilin, we have temporarily lifted the blockade, you may now visit Miss Tilan's home." A police officer accompanying her said.
"Thank you, it's really troubling you."
"No problem, it's our duty. Miss Tilan is the pride of us Payin City residents, please let her know she is always welcome back."
"I will." Yilin waved and walked into Tilan's house.
The air was still a bit cold, most of the items in the house were frozen, so Yilin was particularly careful not to break anything. She proceeded to check various rooms in succession, pausing for a moment in front of Tilan's bedroom. There was a hanging photograph, likely taken during their elementary school graduation. Everyone was standing together, smiling under the teacher's direction.
Yilin vaguely remembered that Tilan's father also came on the day of the photo, even buying Tilan her favorite taro ice cream cone.
"You're called Yilin, right? This is for you, thank you for taking care of Tilan at school." The man also handed her one and spoke some words full of emotion.
"Without you, Tilan's life path might have been completely different... This is ultimately my fault."
Yilin never had a deep impression of Tilan's father, and now she couldn't even recall his look, except for maybe the slightly stubbled chin.
In Tilan's life, although he had always been there, he seemed almost invisible, rarely truly connecting with Tilan. He simply went through the motions of fulfilling his responsibilities while maintaining a balance that wasn't too cold to be uncomfortable.
Back then, no one noticed. It was only upon reflection years later that Yilin realized Tilan's father was quite unusual.
Moreover, his thoughts at the time remained unknown. Alas, it's too late to ask now as he can't be found anymore.
Yilin had been curious enough to ask Tilan about this man once, and the young girl seemed to sense something, simply telling her that a father has his choices. Given his decision to leave quietly, perhaps he didn't want to be found ever again.
Awakening from her thoughts, Yilin glanced again at the house's facilities and items, confirming no changes before shutting the door and leaving.
