After spending a relatively lively winter break, Hestia returned to Edess Academy.

Everything seemed unchanged. Students arriving in various luxury cars stepped into the campus one after another, and the school environment remained as beautiful as ever, with comfortable temperatures.

Walking through the summer shade of the trees, Thilan, dressed in a white dress, approached the figure waving at her.

"Dolores, happy New Year~"

This black-haired, black-dressed young lady was still dressed in her usual extravagant style, holding a lace parasol with intricate patterns. Her chest was wrapped in a breathable lace bodice, revealing a hint of fair skin. Among the girls Thilan knew of the same age, Dolores had the most voluptuous figure.

If Irene was the type of girl who was slightly more practical but exceptionally patient and attentive with friends, then Dolores was the carefree, always graceful and dignified young lady.

"Thilan, you’re back too." As the girl approached, Dolores took her hand, and the two walked through the shaded paths of the campus, chatting about their holidays.

"This time, I went to Sailin Bay with Ruby and Evony. It’s a protected area, home to dolphins and many fish. Walking through the underwater observation tunnel felt like strolling through another world... If you have time someday, Thilan, you should visit too."

"Thank you, I’ll go next time." Thilan nodded and briefly shared her own holiday experiences. Soon, the two entered a pavilion in the garden.

Though called a pavilion, it was more like a square, transparent glass room where one could sit and have tea without worrying about the rain. Outside, various flowers were in full bloom.

"However, the holiday wasn’t all happy," Dolores said as she and Thilan sat down. She pressed a touchpoint on the table, and a teapot and two delicate teacups rose from the surface, automatically heating the tea.

"What happened?"

"Evony failed to advance again. She seemed really down." Dolores shook her head.

"Actually, I wasn’t very close to Evony before. We only got to know each other better last semester because of club activities."

"This failure hit her hard. Her mental state isn’t good, and I think she’s really struggling."

"This kind of thing..." Thilan thought for a moment but couldn’t find the right words to comfort her.

"In the new semester, she’ll probably shut herself off for a while. It’s hard for others to comfort her, so we’ll just have to try not to upset her further." Dolores smoothed her hair and then picked up the heated teapot, pouring tea for Thilan and herself.

It was worth noting that, aside from her father, Thilan was the only one this young lady from a wealthy family would personally serve tea to.

The two sat in the pavilion, catching up for about an hour before parting ways. It was then that Thilan received a message from the school.

"Go to the student council?" she wondered, looking at the message and guessing what it might be about.

About ten minutes later, she arrived at the student council building, entered the elevator, and quietly ascended to the top floor.

The entire floor belonged to the Edess Student Council. Walking through the quiet hallway, the girl gently knocked on the office door.

Click. The door opened, and a young man with long golden hair appeared. He was the current student council president, Amorth.

Unlike usual, the student council president’s office was much quieter today. There was no one else here except him and the curtains fluttering in the breeze.

"Sorry, I don’t really like air conditioning. I prefer natural wind. I hope you don’t mind, Junior Thilan." He invited the girl to sit down and then brought over two cups of coffee, placing them on the coffee table.

Although there was no air conditioning in the room, it wasn’t hot, suggesting there were other cooling methods. Thilan didn’t dwell on it and instead focused on why the president had called her here.

After taking a careful sip of his coffee, President Amorth finally spoke.

"Thilan, you’ve been at Edess Academy for half a year now, right?"

"Yes."

"How are you adjusting? Is everything going well?"

"It’s going well. The academy is quite nice."

"That’s good to hear. Actually, I called you here today because there’s something I’d like your help with."

"What is it?"

"I’d like to invite you to join the student council and help handle some internal and external affairs. Before you decide, let me explain the situation."

President Amorth raised his hand, signaling Thilan not to refuse just yet.

"First, Edess Academy is a rather special school. Most of the students come from influential families, which makes it difficult for teachers to manage them at times."

"Students are only here for a few years, while teachers work here for much longer. If a teacher offends a student with a powerful background, even a small retaliation could make the teacher’s life difficult. That’s the power of influence." Amorth set down his teacup and lightly tapped the table with his fingers.

"However, we’re different. Most members of the student council also come from notable backgrounds, so we’re not afraid of retaliation. Additionally, since we’re peers, conflicts between us are less likely to escalate and are easier to resolve."

"Therefore, at Edess Academy, the student council wields much more power than in ordinary schools. For example, we handle budget approvals, student reprimands, and disciplinary actions."

"That sounds like it could make a lot of enemies," the girl couldn’t help but comment.

"Indeed, but unless you want to avoid all benefits, making enemies is unavoidable."

"When a company rises and captures market share, it inevitably squeezes out the profits of other companies. The greater the stakes, the more intense the competition."

"Things are relatively better within the academy since there are no fundamental conflicts of interest. So, this job isn’t as difficult as you might think."

"Would you like to give it a try? It’s also a great opportunity for growth. I believe the academy’s teachers have already mentioned this to you."

"They have, but I didn’t expect it to happen so soon." The girl shook her head. She was only in her first year.

"Haha, true. It’s rare for first-year students to take on student council roles, but this is a special situation. I’m about to graduate, and if I don’t find a proper successor soon, it would be irresponsible."

"Most of the current student council members are fourth-years. Once we graduate, many positions will be left vacant. To ensure the academy’s continued development, these roles can’t remain empty. That’s why I thought of you."

"Why me?" Although she had some idea, Thilan still wanted to hear his reasoning.

"First, it’s a recommendation from the academy. Second, you truly have the qualifications."

"Haven’t you noticed? Among the first-years, no one has a stronger influence than you. The second-years are divided into various factions, and many third-years are too focused on advancing to higher sequences to spare energy for other matters. So, you’re the most suitable candidate."

So that’s how it is. Because of the club she established, she had unknowingly gathered quite a following. Now, she really had no excuse to refuse.

With that, Thilan had no choice but to nod in agreement.

"Great. Don’t worry, we won’t throw you into difficult tasks right away," President Amorth adjusted his glasses.

"Come and report for the next two days. I’ll arrange for someone to guide you through the various procedures."

"Also, since you’ve agreed, I’ll have the custom-made uniform ready for you tomorrow. Make sure to wear it from now on."

"Looking forward to working with you, Thilan." The golden-haired, pointy-eared president with elven blood smiled his signature smile, like a cunning old fox eyeing a little rabbit.
