————

"What the fuck…?" Repeating the words that were written at the end of his status screen, Valyr was left at a complete loss for words after seeing how much his stats had changed after reaching the peak of Rank 3.

Seeing how almost all of his stats were above the four-digit mark, the young man instantly knew that he'd surpassed the stats his other self had after leaving the Four Pillars' Inheritance.

However, after looking at his gains for a bit more, he soon noticed that a great portion of his stats were pretty much double what they were back when he was at the peak of Rank 2.

"Although my other self can make up for the gap in stats with both skills and equipment, I'm pretty sure I could wreck my other self without any external assistance whatsoever," said the young man after looking at his status screen for a bit more.

"…Provided that the other self is at the peak of Rank 3 and just got out of the inheritance, that is."

Bitterly chuckling at the words that left his mouth, the young man eventually began to think that there was a possibility his player identity wouldn't be able to reach a similar level of strength to his other self by the time he reached the peak of Rank 4.

Briefly thinking back to the various encounters he had on his other identity that gave him the current level of strength he had there, Valyr eventually pushed all of those thoughts to the side for the meantime as he took a look at his remaining notifications from the ascension.

"…Huh."

Considering that Rank 3 was the midpoint on the path to transcending mortality, it went without saying that one of the notifications Valyr obtained from the ascension involved gaining the ability to comprehend Intents.

Other than that, he also obtained a notification from the system that he was now able to unlock Intermediate-level advancements through his Technology Tree, putting him pretty much on par with his other identity in that regard.

Unfortunately for him, those two pieces of information were the only notifications he had yet to go through.

Even after scrolling through the list of notifications over and over again, the young man found no sign that he had gained a skill from either his class or his subclass whatsoever.

"…I suppose I'll only get them once I ascend to Rank 4," murmured Valyr after mulling over the thought after some time, consoling himself with it. "After all, I didn't get any new skills after ascending to Rank 4 on my other identity."

"Perhaps the heavens above decided to make it even by having my player identity gain new skills on the even-numbered ranks."

Although he didn't really believe the words that left his mouth, the young man subconsciously got the feeling that the heavens might have intentionally done it that way in the hopes of keeping him in check.

After all, he'd already interacted with three Primordial-level beings so far while still not having broken the shackles of mortality.

If that feat wasn't enough for the heavens to pay attention to him, then what would?

Finding no point in thinking about the matter at his current level of strength, it went without saying that Valyr pushed his current train of thought to the side.

Sending a few messages to the guild regarding his successful ascension to Rank 3, the young man began to smile after seeing many of them reply with congratulatory remarks on his achievement.

Talking with them for a bit more, Valyr soon raised his eyebrow in curiosity after obtaining a few interesting bits of information from some of the members.

"A special dungeon, huh?" The young man faintly smiled, getting the feeling that his members had stumbled upon a world raid after reading the messages his members sent him.

Deciding to tackle the world raid in the near future with his guild members, Valyr soon closed his eyes once more as he decided to act upon one of the reasons why he ascended to Rank 3 in the first place.

"I sure hope this was the right idea."

Muttering those words to himself, the young man gradually let out a low exhale as he slowly attuned himself to his surroundings.

Then, making use of his heightened affinity thanks to the elixir Arcane modified, he began to extend his senses outward as he started his first attempt at comprehending an Intent Seed.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Focusing his attention on the concept of mana first, Valyr soon felt an influx of information enter his mind after pondering over what he knew about mana for quite some time.

Adding on the fact that he already had a decently-leveled Intent based on mana on his other identity, his understanding and the information that entered his mind eventually began to combine into something greater, only to then transform into something more tangible.

A connection.

Feeling his body establish a connection with the world around him in such a short time, Valyr could not help but open his eyes in surprise as he thought about how powerful the gift Arcane gave him actually was.

Not wanting to waste the frame of mind he'd gotten himself into, the young man closed his eyes once more, shifting his focus instead to the concept of the Arcane.

Bringing out all of his understanding of spells and magic out for the universe to see, additional information on the matter soon came rushing into his mind as well, eventually condensing into yet another connection with the world.
