Moonquest: A Journey To The Stars-Chapter 67: SCREEECH: Launch Of The Assault

"H-hey g-guys, I can see smoke coming from top of the trees, and it's pretty big..."

Running through the woods, Goblina perched herself on top of Titus, busy acting as the group's scout. Gazing far, she caught wond of a dark cloud of smoke, emanating from the city. The group's eyes darkened, for they knew what it signified:

Mithrador was under attack

With this knowledge, they hastened their march, fearing the worst.

Sigmund battled against the Tier-1 Wabbit soldier, parrying its against him, before slicing off its head in one quick swipe. Barely catching his breath, Sigmund was forced to contend with another two, blocking an attack with his worn out sword.

"Damn it! How many more of these fuckers are there?!"

Cursing endlessly, Sigmund wiped offbthe blood from his face, spitting out a tooth from an earlier attack. Wiping off the the bone chunks from his sword, he got up tiredly from the ground, limping of to the next region.

Of all times, why does a SCREECH have to happen now!?

Gulping in fear, Sigmund could not help but be tense. The SCREECH was something that that shook the souls of whoever witnessed it, for it was always something of a cataclysmic horror.

Hordes upon hordes of Wabbits dotted the ground, their fur colouring the grass white. Gazimg upon the scene, Sigmund could ot help bit feel despair at it.

He knew that if no help arrived, Mithrador would be finished.

Punching thorough the trees, Titus managed to clear a path towards the city. There, in front of them, lay a light blue cover, isolating the city from rest of civilization. From inside, birds could be seen circling around the top of the cover, unable to extricate from whatever effect the blue cover had on them.

"Shit, this worse than I thought. The whole city's under siege. Worse is that the Demon Army had somehow managed to create a shielding effect that effectively separates the city from the rest of the Kingdom. I don't know for how long, but the city will fall if no actions been taken..."

Delivering this devastating news, Titus warns the group of the grim future that could occur if no actions were taken. Their eyes now solemn, they increased their pace, rushing to reach the city. Hold on for just a couple of more minutes please...

Praying on their hearts, the dashed towards the main gate, which lay torn down to the sides. Outside lay countless bodies of Wabbits and men, each torn beyond shreds. Retching nearby, Goblina couldn't believe the sight she was seeing.

"What is this!?"

Unable to accept the horrific sight in front of her, she instinctively curled beside Simon, much to the bemusement of the group. Realising that she had buried her head withing Simon, she quickly brushed up, head smoldering in shame, only to realise that a certain red-head was too busy looking to the sides.

What a blockhead...

Just as she was about to call Simon, a heavily wounded Aviatrix guard shambled his way through, left arm gone, it's only remaining legacy a bloody stump.

"RUUUUUUN! A SCREEECH IS HERE ! I REPEAT, A SCREEECH IS HEEEEERRRRRREEE!"

Before the eyes of the shocked group, a gigantic mouth emerged from the air, snapping the poor guard up...
