A collar that can make animals understand humans wasn't something that Earth in his past life hadn't been able to manage to create despite their high level of technology. So he was impressed with the collar back then.

But then he lost his awe in the world of Ethera when he noticed the slavery and the hunting profession. He thought that the collar was the product of a fluke of magic.

However, ever since he came to participate in the regional sect examination and saw the flying ship and the platform that could teleport people, he began to believe that maybe magic was better than the fancy science of his previous world.

This identity card that looks and feels like glass yet behaves like a phone is another reason why magic is getting more and more cool to him.

He shook his head and said, "Maybe I thought this world was backward because I was living in the backward parts of this world. I would like to see exactly what the limit of magic is. For that, I need strength."

He dispelled his distracted state of mind and continued with the test. If he wanted to gain more strength quickly, he had to gain admission into a sect. For that to happen, he had to pass this test with flying colors. He sought just to do that.

He went up to the downed golem to remove his arrow stuck in its head. He also saw something written on the back of its head because it was face down when it fell.

Model: Fast Dagger Golem

Strength: 7

Speed: 8

Defense: 6

He thought about what he just read and remembered the speed of the golem when it attacked him.

"The golem was about as fast as someone at the eighth transformation. I'm guessing these units are based on the power of humans at each transformation."

He wondered to himself, "If that is the case and the first golem is already this strong, just how strong can the golems reach? Can they reach the second transformation?"

There was only one way to answer that question, so he took back his arrow and stepped forward to fight the next golem.

The next golem was bigger than the first. It was more muscular, and it also carried a giant sledgehammer.

His eyes twitched when he saw the hammer. The face of the hammer was bigger than his head.

"A hit from that can't be good."

The golem began moving when he got within 50 meters of it. Unfortunately, it was slower than the first. So it was easier for him to target.

The golem couldn't avoid the arrow to its head. But it raised the hammer in its hands and used it to protect its head.

This reaction stunned Arthur, but he didn't pause his offensive. He directed his arrow to shoot the foot of the golem. This caused its body to flash with white runes.

Most importantly, it stumbled. When it did, it had to break its fall with its hands. This made it stop using its hammer to protect its head.

A moment later, an arrow lodged itself into the golem's head. Its body flashed with red runes. Then it stopped moving.

Arthur's face was grim as he approached the golem. He said to himself, "This test won't be easy at all if they are learning."

If the golems are learning, it means that he won't be able to repeat the tricks he used to defeat the previous ones. At the very least, he must improvise.

He pulled out his arrow while checking the attributes of the golem on the back of its head.

Model: Slow Hammer Golem

Strength: 8

Speed: 6

Defense: 7

"It is still a total of 21 points. I guess that's why I earned just one point for defeating it too."

This golem was stronger and more durable than the first fast dagger golem, but it was slow, which made it easy for him to kill it. All in all, they had about the same level of threat, so he didn't complain about earning just one point for killing it.

He moved on after checking its properties. He was soon embroiled in a fight with the next golem.

The third golem was also different from the first two. This one had a tower shield and a spear.

The tower shield was the height of the golem. It protected it completely. Since it didn't need eyes to see, the tower shield couldn't block its vision, so it was able to move without issue.

And since the tower shield was so tall and wide, the golem didn't need to bother raising its weapon to protect its head. In fact, it didn't need to do anything to protect itself apart from carrying that large shield.

Arthur's eye twitched when he saw the golem's getup. He said, "This has to earn me more than one point, or this won't be fair."

He grumbled as he put his bow on his back. Then he rushed at the golem.

The golem stabbed at him with the spear. He grabbed the spear with his left hand and pulled it back.

The golem fell forward because it didn't want to let go of the spear. Meanwhile, he punched with his right hand. His fist smashed into the shield, which caused it to slam against the golem's face.

The golem's body flashed white tunes because of the injury. It stumbled backward as its stance became unstable. Arthur took advantage of its instability to push it to the ground while still holding onto its spear.

The golem flashed again because it fell to the ground. This time it flashed yellow runes because of the increased injury.

The golem had also let go of its spear. Arthur raised it up to use it to stab the golem while his legs slammed down on the golem in order to keep it on the ground.

He was using his leg to keep the golem still so that he could stab it. But he used too much force, and his leg crushed the golem's chest.
