Chapter 21 - 21: I’m Impressed

Ashton walked closer to watch it. His expression darkened as he saw Allen Morris throw Railer over the fence. Shock and fury flashed in his eyes. "That bastard... How could anyone do this to Railer?"

By 5 a.m., the Wilson family cars sped through the streets of Easthan, ready for vengeance.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the city, Chantelle broke into a small apartment. She covered her face with a mask.

She moved silently through the dark space until she reached the bedroom.

The man she was looking for was asleep.

A smirk crossed her lips. Without hesitation, she grabbed him and yanked him awake.

He gasped, struggling in her grip. Ignoring his panicked pleas, she dragged him into the living room and threw him onto the coffee table. The glass top shattered beneath him.

Allen groaned in pain. He pushed himself up, reaching for the light switch. As the room lit up, his breath hitched.

A masked woman stood before him, eyes burning with fury.

His voice trembled. "Who are you? What do you want?"

Allen's eyes darted around, searching for a way to escape.

"I'm here to kill you," Chantelle said coldly. She walked closer and kicked him to the ground.

Before he could get up, she pressed her foot against his chest, pinning him down.

His face turned pale. He gasped for air, struggling under her weight. "Why? Who sent you? Why do you want to kill me?"

Chantelle ignored him. She pulled out a recorder and turned it on.

Through gritted teeth, she demanded, "Who ordered you to throw Railer Wilson off the cliff at the cemetery?"

Allen wheezed, barely able to breathe. "What are you talking about? Do I look stupid enough to mess with the Wilson family?"

Chantelle's patience snapped. She kicked him in the chest again, making him groan in pain.

"Wrong answer," she said sharply. Her eyes darkened as she leaned in. "You have one chance left. If I were you, I'd start talking."

"Did Mr. Wilson send you?" Allen asked, fear in his voice.

"It's none of your business," Chantelle said with a frown. "Tell me who ordered you to hurt Railer Wilson, or I'll kill you right now."

Allen's face fell. "Railer Wilson is fine," he said, sounding defeated. "I never tried to throw him off the cliff. No one ever told me to hurt him."

"Go ahead and kill me if you don't believe me," he added, stopping his struggle and lying still on the floor.

Chantelle smiled at Allen. "I'm impressed. Kate Bently has trained you well. Now, tell me—has she trained you to kill Railer Wilson too?"

"No, this has nothing to do with Ms. Kate," Allen quickly denied.

Before Chantelle could respond, Allen grabbed a piece of glass and tried to stab her foot.

Chantelle quickly stepped back, and Allen jumped up from the floor.

"You wouldn't hurt a boy unless you were following Kate's orders," Chantelle said, and she frowned deeply. "You'd better tell her to watch out. I'll make her pay for what she's done."

"Who are you? Why do you want to hurt Ms. Kate?" Allen asked, shaking in anger.

Without waiting for her answer, he lunged at her with the glass.

As they struggled, Chantelle heard cars stop outside.

She smirked.

Just in time! She shoved Allen aside, grabbed her recorder, and ran down the stairs. She didn't want to risk running into Daniel and having to explain herself to him.

She heard a loud thud followed by a shriek as she reached the ground floor.

She was about to leave when someone stopped her in her tracks and grabbed her wrist. "Where do you think you're going?"

Her blood turned cold. She glanced up and met Daniel's eyes, flashing with anger.

She instinctively tried to get away from him. However, he pulled her close and tried to remove her mask.

She had to act fast.

Chantelle pushed him against the wall, and he loosened his grip on her. She took the chance and rushed out of the apartment.

Daniel chased her down the street until she got into a car and sped off.

"Sir!" Ashton ran toward Daniel and said, "Allen Morris is alive, but he's badly injured."

"Keep him alive. I need some answers from him," replied Daniel.

Ashton nodded, "Yes, sir. How about the woman who tried to kill him? Shall I try to find her?"

"I know where she is," Daniel said with a smile. He had attached a tracking device to the woman's pocket while she struggled to break free.

The device was an upgraded version of the one he had found in his car.

Daniel got into his car with Ashton, and they sped off, following the signal from the tracking device.

Daniel wanted to get answers to all his questions from the woman once he found her.

The road was empty as Calvin drove. Chantelle sat next to him, tending to a wound on her arm. The smell of blood filled the car.

"You're hurt, Ms. Chantelle," Calvin said, glancing at her injury with concern.

Chantelle shrugged. "It's nothing I can't handle. Don't worry."

Allen had cut her arm with a piece of glass during their fight.

She was used to getting cuts and bruises by now.

She grabbed the first aid kit and quickly took care of her wound.

Calvin saw an incoming message and said, "Allen is alive and in the hospital. Russell is watching him."

Chantelle nodded. "Good. Make sure no one kills him before I do."

"Do you think Ms. Kate will kill him to stop him from talking?" Calvin asked.

Chantelle frowned. "I don't care about Allen Morris. I just want Kate dead."

"I have no doubt she deserves it," Calvin said carefully, glancing at Chantelle nervously.

She looked at him. "You doubt my ability?"

"Ms. Kate might be vicious, but she will marry Mr. Wilson. If Mr. Wilson gets involved, I'm afraid we won't be able to handle it," Calvin said after a short pause.

He had looked into Kate's relationship with Daniel. They had been having an affair for five years.

It was rumored that Daniel had wanted to marry Kate but ended up marrying Chantelle by mistake.

After everyone thought Chantelle was dead, Kate stayed by Daniel's side and took care of him and his son.
