Chapter 75 -75 Cooking Personally_1
Su Wanxia looked at the malicious smile on Ji Hua’s face and grabbed the cushion on the sofa behind her, tossing it at his face.
“Yo, you’re angry from embarrassment,” Ji Hua teased.
“I must go tell Yining how many girlfriends you’ve had in the past,” Su Wanxia said, raising her chin with an expression that spelled his doom.
Ji Hua was suddenly not so composed and started to wail, “Hey? Hey? My dear, I was wrong, okay? You really shouldn’t tell her!” If she really told Xiaoning, he was as good as dead—
“Hmph, if you know you’re wrong, just keep that big mouth of yours shut,” Su Wanxia glared at him before lowering her head to eat.
Ji Hua touched his mouth, wondering if it was really that big. It wasn’t, right? He was quite satisfied with every part of his face—didn’t he look breathtakingly handsome?
Mu Yingchen glanced at the two of them and then his gaze landed on Su Wanxia, who was eating with gusto, his gorgeous lips curling into an indulgent smile.
After Su Wanxia finished eating, she wiped her mouth and then casually pushed the tray toward Ji Hua, who was sitting next to her, “Here, take this tray to the kitchen for me, Mr. Handsome Ji.”
Ji Hua was thinking about something with his head tilted when Su Wanxia suddenly brought him back to his senses. He looked at the tray on the table and the corner of his mouth twitched, “Why should I carry it when you were the one eating, shouldn’t you ask my big brother to help you? After all, it was he who brought it, right?”
Su Wanxia let out a long, feigned sigh of helplessness, “Ah, if Yining knew that someone had so many girlfriends in the past—”
“Fine, fine, my dear, can’t I just go?” Ji Hua said with a grimace, picking up the tray on the table and then dejectedly headed for the door.
“Haha.” Su Wanxia laughed aloud as she watched Ji Hua’s retreating, staggering figure.
“Is it fun to tease him?” Mu Yingchen turned his head and looked at her with a helpless expression.
Su Wanxia immediately toned down the smile on her face, “It’s fun. I never caught him red-handed before, but now that I have the chance, I definitely need to tease him properly.”
Mu Yingchen shook his head and then asked softly, “What would you like for lunch?”
Su Wanxia rolled her eyes at him, as if she was a pig, “Mr. Mu, I just had breakfast, so I can’t think of what I want to eat yet.”
Suddenly, Mu Yingchen stood up, came over to Su Wanxia, and swept her into his arms, placing her on his lap.
Su Wanxia’s face instantly flushed, “Hey, there are so many people around,” she whispered, although the living room was empty for now, Ji Hua would be back soon, and there were still so many servants—what if they saw?
“They wouldn’t dare to gossip,” Mu Yingchen said calmly, his fingers gently brushing her long hair, which was soft, smooth, and faintly fragrant, always irresistible to him.
“Ji Hua will be back any minute,” Su Wanxia fretted, feeling truly embarrassed at the thought of being seen like this.
“So what if he does?” Mu Yingchen adjusted her into a comfortable position.
Su Wanxia was speechless, his skin really was getting thicker by the day.
“I don’t think I’ve ever tasted your cooking,” Mu Yingchen suddenly stated.
Su Wanxia paused, then nodded, it seemed to be true.
“It seems that Mu Feng eats Kang Xiaolan’s cooking every day,” Mu Yingchen hinted subtly.
The corner of Su Wanxia’s mouth twitched, so this man wanted to eat her cooking—why not just say so? Did he really have to beat around the bush?
Su Wanxia turned her head and then pushed him down on the sofa, one hand caressing his handsome face, the other tousling his not-quite-long hair.
“So what you mean is… you want to eat the dishes I cook?”
Mu Yingchen blocked her “claws” while raising an eyebrow in agreement.
“But the food I make tastes horrible, definitely not as delicious as Xiaolan’s.” Su Wanxia said frowning, and in fact, her cooking really wasn’t good.
Before going abroad, she never cooked. However, after moving overseas, with limited options, she would have starved if she hadn’t learned to cook for herself. Forced by necessity, she started to learn, but did just enough to make the food edible. She was a genius at work but a disaster in the kitchen. Okay, to be honest, she was just lazy, too lazy to learn, too lazy to cook.
“It’s fine, as long as I don’t get diarrhea, it’s OK,” Mu Yingchen said, the corners of his mouth deepening into a smile.
In fact, he had to admit he was quite jealous of Mu Feng, always having lovingly-prepared meals, really annoying to witness.
“You said it,” Su Wanxia pointed a finger at the corner of Mu Yingchen’s lips.
“Yes, I said it,” Mu Yingchen nodded.
“If I do get diarrhea, you can’t blame me, it would just mean your stomach is weak,” Su Wanxia added.
A twitch appeared at the corner of Mu Yingchen’s eye, sensing something ominous in her words, but then he thought about the rare opportunity to eat her cooking and calmly nodded in agreement.
“Hey, you two—–” Ji Hua glared, pointing at the two people on the couch.
At that moment, Su Wanxia could already be said to be lying on top of Mu Yingchen, who was enjoying having a beauty in his arms, leaning back in the couch. But that posture, that posture, even Ji Hua, the playboy, felt embarrassed to articulate at that moment.
Hearing Ji Hua’s voice, Su Wanxia quickly flipped off Mu Yingchen and onto the couch, then awkwardly uttered, “I’m going to check the kitchen for ingredients,” before standing up and leaving.
“Bro, how did you manage to win Wanxia back? Teach me,” Ji Hua looked up to Mu Yingchen with admiration.
Mu Yingchen stared at him for a while and simply said, “Secret,” before going back to watching the news on his own.
Ji Hua had been hoping to hear some earth-shattering tips on pursuing women from his brother but, getting only a two-word response, he smacked his lips and shrugged his shoulders, settling down to boredly watch the TV.
Nearly an hour later, the servants brought in tray after tray, placing the dishes on the dining table.
Su Wanxia followed with a plate of her own, then called out to the two men in the living room, “Dinner’s ready.”
The corners of Mu Yingchen’s mouth quirked up, and he stood up gracefully, heading towards the dining room. Ji Hua raised his eyebrows and quickly followed suit.
“Wow, Wanxia, you didn’t make this, did you?” Ji Hua’s jaw nearly hit the floor as he stood before the dining table.
Su Wanxia shot him a glance, “What’s with that face?”
“No, but this fish looks a bit burnt—-” Ji Hua pointed at the so-called fish on the pristine white plate.
Su Wanxia stood her ground, “That, well, the heat was just a bit high, it’s not burnt.”
“And this, is it stir-fried greens, or boiled greens?”
“Vegetables naturally have a lot of water, okay?”
“Heaven, this is, is this still pork ribs? Why do I only see bones, where did the meat go?” Ji Hua pointed at the plate of what should be ribs, but no, it was more like bone and mincemeat.
Su Wanxia instantly got angry, “What’s with all the questions, are you eating or not!” The meal she made today was considered good, at least to her, as it had taken quite a bit of her thought and effort.
Even though she had sent the servants away while she cooked, she had consulted with the master chef beforehand on many things. This was the best meal she had ever made, though she admitted it was a bit ugly in appearance.
