Multiversal Wanderer: Starting in Naruto-Chapter 44: Establishment of PPDC
Chapter 44 - 44: Establishment of PPDC
The devastating Kaiju attack on Sydney once again shocked the world. With the frequency of Kaiju invasions increasing, nations fell into a state of panic.
Following the emergency meeting held the previous day, world leaders quickly realized they needed to take immediate action. Within days, the Pan Pacific Defense Corps (PPDC) was officially formed. The organization's purpose was clear: defend against Kaiju attacks, repel the monstrous creatures, and ultimately destroy the wormholes to prevent further invasions.
Soon, two of the PPDC's top researchers, neuroscientists Catherine and Jasper, began developing the first-generation mobile mecha. Catherine had already shared the advanced Pons System—the core of the mecha's control mechanism—with Chinq. Due to their early start and unified national support, China mecha program progressed faster than the PPDC's.
As time passed, both sides gradually neared the completion of their mechas. China first prototype, named Hou Yi, was finally unveiled. Just two days later, the PPDC also completed its own prototype.
Once the preliminary debugging was done and no major issues were found, Wang Tao quickly notified Su Xiuyu and his team.

The First Test Drive
"Oh? That fast? The prototype is already out today?" Su Xiuyu's eyes gleamed with excitement. "Can I try it out?"
Lately, there hadn't been any Kaiju invasions, leaving Su Xiuyu with little to do. Most of his time was spent accompanying Mito—shopping, strolling, and experiencing the comforts of modern society. Though pleasant at first, it had become rather dull.
As a modern man in his previous life, this near-identical version of contemporary society no longer held much novelty for him. However, Mito's persistent persuasion made it difficult for him to refuse her company.
Meanwhile, Madara and Izuna took the Uchiha clan to explore the world, interacting with ordinary citizens to gain insight into the lives of common people. Despite being in a different reality, Madara remained dedicated to his dream. He seemed determined to learn from this world's experience in maintaining peace, perhaps hoping to apply it to the Ninja World someday.
Now, with the mecha prototype finally completed, Su Xiuyu could hardly contain his excitement. He was about to experience a lifelong dream—piloting a mecha!
"Can I test-drive it today?" he eagerly asked. Su Xiuyu even recalled the Pons System's flaw. Under normal conditions, operating it solo could lead to brain death. The Pons System required two pilots to share the neurological load due to the massive data processing involved. A single person simply couldn't withstand the strain, resulting in a catastrophic mental breakdown.
But Su Xiuyu wasn't worried. What ordinary people couldn't endure, he was certain he could handle.
"Yes," Wang Tao confirmed. "The mecha passed the initial inspection. It should be fine for experimental operation."
"Perfect! What are we waiting for? Let's get started—I can't wait any longer!" Su Xiuyu grabbed Mito's hand and headed straight for the assembly workshop.
Inside the workshop stood a relatively small mecha, constructed entirely of metal. It wasn't a finished model—more of a scaled-down test version meant for trial runs, keeping costs low.
"Wang Tao, is the system fully debugged? If it is, let me try it out. This is my first time piloting a mecha—I'm hyped!"
"Yes, debugging is complete. Let me call the designers over. They'll teach you how to operate it, including the controls and internal joysticks."
After receiving a crash course in mecha driving, Su Xiuyu wasted no time. Under the gaze of the entire workshop team, he flew into the cockpit.
"System link initiated. Connection stable. Synchronization rate at 30%... 60%... 99%... 100%."
The synchronization process completed almost instantly. Su Xiuyu felt a brief surge in his brain, but it returned to normal in less than half a second. The Pons System's massive data flow was indeed a heavy burden on the brain and spirit, which explained why mechas typically required two or even three pilots.
However, the mental strain was negligible to him. The half-second delay he experienced was simply his subconscious resisting the foreign connection.
Once fully linked, the virtual interface displayed a range of unfamiliar yet fascinating commands and parameters. Su Xiuyu's limbs felt as if they were physically extended through the machine, though he could distinctly perceive the boundary between his body and the mecha.
The sensation was vastly different from using a Gundam with his Sharingan or controlling Susanoo. The latter was instinctual—fluid and natural, like moving his own body. In contrast, the mecha required conscious effort. Though the interface was smooth, he was still aware that it was a machine, not his actual form.
Overcome with exhilaration, Su Xiuyu's brain waves surged with activity.
"Warning: The driver's neural activity is significantly higher than normal. Synchronization rate has reached 800%. Wang Tao, do you want to terminate the test drive?"
Wang Tao glanced at the monitor, observing Su Xiuyu's ecstatic expression. The man was completely immersed, effortlessly moving the mecha with precision.
After brief consideration, Wang Tao decided not to stop the test. Although he had never witnessed Su Xiuyu's full strength, he knew the man was at least on par with Uchiha Madara. For someone of his caliber, this level of brainwave activity was nothing.
Su Xiuyu piloted the mecha onto the outdoor training ground. The sensation of acceleration was thrilling as he maneuvered the massive machine.

Within minutes, he mastered basic operations and began performing complex maneuvers—high-leg lifts, precise turns, and quick sidesteps. Despite its bulk, the mecha responded smoothly to his commands.
However, Su Xiuyu remained cautious. After all, this was only a first-generation test model. If he pushed it too hard and the machine fell apart, it would be quite embarrassing.
For half an hour, he pushed the mecha's performance to its limits. Eventually, however, the test run was forced to an early end—the machine had run out of diesel.
Due to being a prototype, it was powered by diesel rather than a more sustainable nuclear core. Su Xiuyu's demanding maneuvers quickly drained the fuel reserves.
Reluctantly, he ended his first-ever mecha piloting experience.
After exiting the cockpit, Su Xiuyu assessed the prototype's performance.
"The mecha is flawless in terms of functionality," he remarked. "The overall design and control system are excellent. However, for future models, I strongly recommend installing two or more nuclear reactors. The current energy system can't keep up with the demands of high-level combat."
Since he had essentially occupied the test pilot slot, he offered detailed feedback in return.
"Oh, and most importantly—the Pons System needs serious modification," he added. "While the neural connection provides exceptional control, the mental strain is dangerous. The current data flow is intense enough to potentially kill a single pilot. I suggest designing the next generation to require twins or triplets as drivers. Splitting the neurological load will prevent fatalities during extended operations."
His suggestion left everyone in the workshop stunned. Using siblings or individuals with similar neural patterns for piloting wasn't something they had considered before.

The Pons System Warning
"Mr. Su, are you sure the data flow pressure of this system is too much?" Wang Tao asked, a trace of doubt in his voice.
"Yes," Su Xiuyu replied confidently. "I may not know much about science, but when it comes to the spiritual field, I know what I'm talking about."
"If other countries are using the same Pons System, you should inform them immediately. Otherwise, their mecha pilots will die during the test drive."
Su Xiuyu vividly recalled that several experimenters had died during the early phases of the Pons System trials. His warning was nothing short of a lifesaving gesture.
Wang Tao, having worked alongside Su Xiuyu for a while, had developed a strong sense of trust in him. Whenever Su Xiuyu spoke with certainty, it was always based on irrefutable facts.
"Hurry up and contact PPDC! I remember they're conducting their first test drive today. Move quickly!"
By the time the PPDC received the call, it was too late. The news had already broken—a test pilot had died suddenly during the experiment. At the time, the PPDC hadn't yet identified the cause of death. However, after receiving Su Xiuyu's warning, they immediately concluded that the Pons System defect was to blame.
Thankfully, the timely warning prevented further casualties. The PPDC had been preparing to send in another pilot, but they halted the trial at the last moment.
Afterward, the PPDC switched to a two-person piloting system, which successfully reduced the neural strain. The next trial was a complete success, confirming that the mecha prototype was fully functional. With the safety issue resolved, production of the mass-market model could finally proceed.
However, before the mechas could be mass-produced, Kaiju struck again—this time targeting Vancouver.
The beast resembled a twisted, ancient tree, its gnarled limbs smashing through buildings as it wreaked havoc upon the city.
"What should we do? The first-generation mecha warriors aren't combat-ready yet!" one PPDC official exclaimed in a panic.
"Should we request help from the aliens again?" another asked.
"Or should we resort to nuclear bombs once more?"
The room fell into heated debate.
Finally, Lieutenant Donofrio stepped forward, his eyes sharp with resolve.
"Catherine and I will take the prototype into battle. We can't keep relying on outside help. Now that we have the means to fight back, we need to prove that humanity can stand its ground."
Donofrio and Catherine were both deeply involved in the PPDC's creation and the development of the mechas. They believed in the technology more than anyone and were determined to put it to the test.
"Lieutenant! Return in triumph!" someone shouted as they prepared for deployment.
Before long, Donofrio and Catherine entered the cockpit of Noisy Boy, the PPDC's prototype mecha, and made their grand debut before the entire world.
Meanwhile, Kaiju Karloff, the monstrous invader, had gained considerable combat intelligence from previous encounters. It knew that only nuclear bombs posed a true threat.
However, none of the previous Kaiju had managed to transmit any information regarding Su Xiuyu's group. Under the influence of his Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, Kaiju that had come into contact with Su Xiuyu were incapable of retaining memories of him. All the Kaiju could recall were the events prior to their confrontation with Su Xiuyu's group.
As Karloff clashed with Noisy Boy, the massive beast was caught off guard. Unlike its previous battles, this time it faced a formidable counterattack.
Donofrio and Catherine's flawless coordination allowed them to fully unleash the mecha's combat potential. Noisy Boy's powerful strikes battered Karloff relentlessly, forcing the Kaiju onto the defensive.
For the first time, Karloff was losing ground.
Half an hour into the battle, the once-dominant Kaiju was reduced to a bloodied, broken state.
"Yeah!" Cheers erupted across the PPDC and China. Both nations were watching the battle live via satellite feed.
The prototype's victory proved that humanity had finally found a way to resist the Kaiju threat. Though the fight came at a heavy cost, the sight of the mecha triumphing over the Kaiju filled people with hope and relief.
Just as Noisy Boy prepared to deliver the finishing blow, the ground trembled violently.
Suddenly, a massive earth dragon burst from beneath the battlefield, coiling itself around Noisy Boy and preventing the final strike.
The PPDC forces were momentarily stunned—until they recognized the dragon's aura.
Inside the cockpit, Donofrio immediately realized what was happening.
"Damn it..." he muttered with a half-smile. "It's him again."
Only one force on the planet could summon such a creature—Su Xiuyu and his companions.
With the earth dragon restraining Noisy Boy, the weakened Kaiju Karloff struggled helplessly.
Instead of finishing off the beast, Su Xiuyu used the opportunity to subdue and contract the Kaiju.
He calmly placed his hand on Karloff massive forehead, channeling his spiritual energy. The Kaiju let out a final roar of defiance before its body shuddered and stilled. Its will was forcibly bound, and the contract was sealed.
In the next moment, Su Xiuyu sent the defeated Kaiju into the spiritual realm to recover.
As soon as his task was complete, he vanished in a flash of teleportation jutsu, leaving only the battered battlefield behind.
For the first time, humanity had successfully repelled a Kaiju attack without external aid. Though the battle had been hard-fought and bloody, the world celebrated this victory with joy.
Across nations—including China—people took to the streets, cheering and crying tears of relief.
However, as Wang Tao celebrated with the others, Su Xiuyu approached him with a grim expression.
"I understand why you're all so happy, Wang," Su Xiuyu said, his voice low and serious. "But you need to wake up. The Kaiju are evolving."
Wang Tao's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?"
"When I forced Kaiju to sign the spiritual contract, I noticed something strange," Su Xiuyu explained. "This Kaiju was genetically enhanced to resist nuclear explosions. The Precursors —the alien civilization behind the Kaiju—are adapting to your tactics."
He went on to explain that the repeated nuclear bomb attacks had prompted the Precursors to genetically modify Karloff with enhanced shockwave resistance and thermal shielding.
"If you hadn't used the prototype mecha or if I hadn't intervened, Karloff would've easily survived multiple nuclear blasts. You would've had no way to stop it."
The revelation sent a chill down Wang Tao's spine.
The Precursors were far from mindless beasts. They were an advanced civilization with cutting-edge bio-modulation technology. Unlike the Otsutsuki Clan, who relied on personal power and spiritual mastery, the Precursors followed a technological route, using biological engineering to weaponize and evolve the Kaiju.
Without hesitation, Wang Tao relayed the critical information to the PPDC and the leaders of other nations.
The once-festive celebration was soon overshadowed by dread.
For the first time, humanity realized that they weren't simply facing monstrous creatures—they were up against a terrifying alien civilization capable of rapid adaptation and evolution.
Though humanity had won this battle, it became clear that the war had only just begun.
