Chapter 387 -373: Communication

Business district, Pinming Tea House.

This was a three-story tea house adorned with a classic decor. As one of the scarce high-tier leisure venues in the Sanctuary, it provided a serene environment, making it the preferred location for many influential leaders to conduct cooperative discussions.

Survivor-run restaurants, due to high rent, often didn’t offer private rooms… Tang Yu understood that the problem seemed to be on his side, however, lowering the rent was out of the question. Even if he couldn’t rent out the space, and it ended up sitting unused, he wouldn’t consider dropping the rent by even a hair!

There was no other choice but to fund the opening of an exclusive tea house himself. Whether it turned a profit was secondary; the key was to maintain the high prestige of the business district.

Under his crafting, the Pinming Tea House indeed held a prestigious label.

As soon as Tang Yu entered, he immediately smelled a faint scent of flowers, invigorating the spirit. The tea offered here was extraordinary, including a floral tea infused with Calming Flower, which stimulated the mind and could aid in the improvement of spiritual power.

Other teas also boasted remarkable effects, apart from the extremely high cost, making them very popular among high-tier Awakeners and the bosses of major forces.

Even if they couldn’t frequent the tea house daily, whenever they arranged meetings with other forces, they chose the Pinming Tea House.

It was a symbol of power and prestige.

Standing outside a private room on the third floor, the Lindong Ancestor Dragon Commander Zhou Zhenglei, along with many accompanying guards, were already waiting outside the door as a sign of respect.

Tang Yu nodded to them in a friendly manner.

Yet, he was reminded of his plan to form a Guard Team. Compared to Lu Jianjun, who had a large squad of guards with him, his solo arrival seemed lacking in grandeur, failing to exhibit the grandeur expected of a power player.

Even though, for him, a Guard Team would serve more as a decorative and errand-running purpose, whereas Old General Lu, venturing out without his guards, could find himself in danger at any time.

Inside the private room.

After some time had passed, Old General Lu appeared much younger, with the hints of white at his temples now gone.

During the pleasantries, Lu Jianjun wore a gentle smile, “Brother Tang, you’re young and promising, indeed. Thanks to the Body Tempering Liquid and other Support Potions you’ve developed, I got the chance to awaken. This old bone of mine can still fight for some years.”

Tang Yu sensed for a moment; Lu Jianjun’s aura was around the third layer of Awakening.

Not strong.

With Lindong’s financial resources, resources weren’t lacking, and accumulating strength to the Fifth Tier Peak shouldn’t be difficult.

Old General Lu has had quite some time since his Awakening.

The only explanation was that Old General Lu wasn’t concerned about his strength. As he put it, after becoming an Awakener, many of his health issues had subsided, and his energy levels had improved significantly, which was enough for him.

“Not at all, I’m just lucky…”

Tang Yu responded with a laugh, admiring the old general but by no means willing to reveal any secret formulas.

Lu Jianjun did not press further, quickly bringing up the topic of the establishment of the Ancient Spirit capital two days prior.

“Beiting has confirmed in the past couple of days, and the sound has spread to all regions within Daxia Country. At the least, survivors from all large Sanctuaries can clearly hear it.”

He paused, then Lu Jianjun continued, “The source of the sound, the location of the Ancient Spirit Capital City, has also been clarified. Although it’s not within the borders of Daxia Country, it’s not far. It’s situated above the Pamir Plateau, to the west of Kunlun.”

Tang Yu nodded in understanding.

The Pamir Plateau, with only a small part inside Daxia Country, the Ancient Spirit Capital City was clearly located within the territory of another nation… The location west of Kunlun was also quite strategic.

He paused, feeling something was amiss.

“Has Beiting already visited the Ancient Spirit Capital City?”

The distance between the two locations was vast, and if the Awakeners of Beiting had managed to reach the Pamir Plateau within just two days, Tang Yu felt they needed to reassess Beiting’s strength.

Lu Jianjun also paused, then laughed dryly, “How could that be possible? To the west of Xia Country, there are very few large Sanctuaries; whether or not to engage with Ancient Spirit is still under discussion by the high-ups.”

Here, by high-ups, he meant the higher-ups of Daxia Country.

“However, determining the location of Ancient Spirit isn’t difficult. You can discern the source from the direction of the sound.”

Tang Yu nodded.

Lu Jianjun wet his finger with tea and drew a straight line on the table, “In Lindong, the source of the sound is northwest, while in Beiting, the sound comes from the southwest. If you draw two straight lines on a world map, where these lines intersect is where the Ancient Spirit Capital City is located.”

“However, this method is only possible because Beiting has collected information from all our Sanctuaries. A single Sanctuary, or even a few nearby, wouldn’t be able to do this.”

Tang Yu was stunned.

He put a hand to his forehead.

Lindong couldn’t do it, but he, with just a bit of communication with the few followers he had sent out, could ascertain the location of the Ancient Spirit Capital City.

How could he not have thought of such simple mathematical knowledge? His renown as a Mathematics Whizz Kid from his youth was wasted.

‘Grey Blade and the others didn’t remind me… Forget it, they probably didn’t study mathematics. Perhaps I should start some basic courses for my followers, emphasizing the importance of cheese.’

In that instant, his mind wandered to many other considerations.

“What’s Beiting’s view on this matter? The sudden emergence of the Ancient Spirit Royal Family must surely cause unrest among the people,” he said.

Lu Jianjun sighed, “The Ancient Spirit Dynasty has formidable power; some people feel we should be cautious, some think we can cooperate, but others even believe the Ancient Spirit are humans from the Fourth Epoch, our ancestors, and seeking protection from them isn’t out of the question.”

Within two days, he had gathered more news through Beiting than he had discussed.

Those of the third viewpoint were not in the minority.

Old General Lu personally didn’t accept this; the citizens of Daxia were descendants of the Yan Huang lineage – since when did people appearing out of the blue become their ancestors?

Hoping those people would help was like asking for the moon. He had also heard of events from the Fourth Epoch where people seized power and took over Sanctuaries.

Laughing sardonically, Lu Jianjun suddenly thought of something and asked, “I forgot to mention things concerning the Fourth Epoch. In fact, I don’t know much. It’s an era far removed from us. A group of individuals, through some means, slept for tens of thousands of years, only to awaken in today’s era.”

Seeing Tang Yu’s unchanged expression, Lu Jianjun realized:

“Brother, have you explored a Secret Realm from the Fourth Epoch?”

It wasn’t a secret that couldn’t be disclosed, so Tang Yu nodded, “I do know some things. It’s said that humans from the Fourth Epoch slept until today to break through and become Transcendent. Just by that, it’s clear that the strength of humans from the Fourth Epoch far surpasses ours.”

“Indeed, there are few weapons now that can threaten a Transcendent,” Lu Jianjun sipped his tea, “but fortunately, Transcendence is hard to achieve. Those who slept from the Fourth Epoch to today are said to have exceptional talent, yet breaking through to Transcendence is still very difficult. It could take years, perhaps decades. By then, our Daxia Country, I believe, will have developed comparable strength.”
