My CEO Boss Is A Masked Internet Sensation-Chapter 42: His Strict Diet Plans
Chapter 42: His Strict Diet Plans
(Arata)
The solitaire-styled pendant was tiny, delicate and absolutely stunning. It was something I would prefer.
I could sense Karsten right behind me, watching and assessing over my shoulder what I would choose.
As soon as I decided on the rose necklace he took it upon himself to drape it around my neck. The rough fingertips rubbed against my skin making goosebumps appear.
Somehow, his touch didn’t repel me, nor did it feel invasive.
Armanta handed me a hand mirror.
He certainly knew how to win over a woman; no wonder too many of his jilted exes wished to get back with him. My mind did wonder how different he acted with the women he actually dated.
Did he often smile at them or remain stoic?
How he must be in bed? Was he better than Twisted Rider?
Nah! No one could surpass him, I was extremely sure. Not even my haughty boss.
Damn! What was I thinking and where was I staring?
Unknowingly, I was staring at him through the mirror, and his dark eyes intently stared back at me.
Somehow it felt like he could peek right into my soul. Never had I seen anyone possess such a rich shade of black. It was like liquid coal shimmering with emotions I wasn’t privy to.
My stomach tightened. I quickly blinked and looked away focusing on the pendant. The chain was delicate and the pendant complimented my skin tone.
Frankly, I loved it.
"I will take it." My eyes went back to him, and he gave an affirmative, turning to the older lady, giving her several instructions and handing her his platinum credit card.
As Armanta and her assistants moved away, Karsten leaned down, his hands still in his pockets. He whispered with his warm breath fanning my already red ear.
"If anyone asks, this is my first gift for you when I asked you to become my girlfriend. This will be more plausible."
I gulped, he was a pro at this, thinking about everything.
"What about me? Won’t they ask what I gifted you?" I left the sofa and turned around to face him.
He straightened up. "What about you?"
"You should have a gift from me as well or they will believe I am just a gold-digger." I knew how it worked among the elitists. Women who only took were considered such and weren’t respected and I didn’t want to have such an opinion in the eyes of his family.
The corners of his mouth teasingly quirked up.
"Are you?" He shamelessly asked making my nostrils flared.
This was one of his tests again, keenly observing if I would rile up or keep my cool.
"I guess you will never find out, since it’s just a pretence." I squared my shoulders, now observing his reaction while tapping my foot on the ground.
He amusedly shook his head, his perfect hair moving in rhythm and let a snort fall through before saying.
"Just to be clear, I don’t mind as long as they are good in bed."
My ears burnt at his words while he seemed unaffected by what he had just said as if that was a normal conversation.
Armanta’s arrival put an end to this awkward exchange, and his attention diverted towards her.
Thanking her, we hugged her in turn and she wished us well.
"Give my love to your Ma," she told Karsten and he offered a quick nod.
We soon left her boutique, and Karsten guided me back to his car, where Olphi waited for us. Once we had mounted the vehicle, it began to move.
I turned to face him expectantly and his eyes swivelled in my direction.
"I will bring you a gift," I informed him with finality.
Curiosity with which he watched me, peaked. "If that’s your wish but I don’t need it."
I tucked a stray strand of my fake hair back.
"It’s only fair, I am not the one to only take."
It felt wrong to just be a receiver. That was not who I was and I couldn’t even pretend like that. He had spent quite an amount today, the dress alone cost around 30k dollars. Although he was rich, it took a generous heart to spend on someone else.
"Like I said, I wouldn’t mind if you did. Contract already said I would be the one to pay for all your clothing and accessories and not the other way around."
He wasn’t wrong but my mind was made up. I opened my mouth again. Seeing that and willing to drop the topic he spoke before I could.
"Would you like to eat something?" The change in topic made me realise I hadn’t had dinner. My stomach was empty.
"Yes, please!" I was never the one to turn down food.
His hand landed on his toned thigh as he asked.
"What would you like to have?"
"Can we have some churros?" I didn’t know why but I was craving them.
"Of course!" He instructed the chauffeur to take us to a takeaway restaurant.
He ordered for me so we could eat in the car and I observed he didn’t order anything for himself.
"Aren’t you going to have something?" I inquired.
"I follow a strict diet plan, as you very well know. I only have one cheat day. Today is not the one," he simply said, drumming his fingers on his tight-fitted jeans against his snug legs.
My order arrived and I placed it in my lap. Taking the long piece of bread I dipped it into the chocolate sauce and offered it to him first.
"One little churro won’t do much harm."
But he simply shook his head and refused to eat.
Retracting my hand, I took a bite, and it was delicious.
Taking out his phone, he began to check his emails. He truly was one of those people who had a motto.
’This body is a temple.’ And he surely treated it like one.
While I finished my food, Karsten answered several of his emails.
We drove home once I had finished my meal. Before I could exit the car, Karsten spoke up, extending his hand.
"If you need any more clothes, shoes, or accessories, use this card." He extended a silver credit card towards me. Taking it from him, I flashed him a courteous smile, knowing disagreeing would be futile, but I had no intentions of using it.
"Thank you! For today."
He simply answered. "It was nothing."
"Good night, sir." Olphi closed the door and walked me to my apartment building.
As usual, the car stayed as long as I hadn’t entered the building, and the door hadn’t closed behind me.
